I bought a dog in October 2017.I bought a male from the Drago(sire)and Sniper(dam) litter. The comments about the dogs threshold, aggression, and lunging should not be misinterpreted, but understood properly. Everything about this dog is AMAZING!
My Puppy had a very small threshold that is now a controlled threshold that can high if I want. He sometimes get super excited and runs around like crazy, but he knows when to shut it down. So silly. He understands right and wrong better than any dog I've ever had.
His drive is what it should be. Very alert. Very protective. Very curious. Very aggressive. Very Very intelligent. My Pups aggression has always been high, even from when he was 8 week old. He wanted to bite. He wanted to play. He wanted to tug a war (he wanted something in his mouth). These terms: Aggression, Drive, Defense, Bite etc. are normal terms and traits in all of dutch shepherds/working dogs. He wanted to rough house. We used toys, clickers to help migrate him into a state of working mind. He learned how to sit, stay, down, up, stand, high five, bark on command, bite on command and heel all withing the first 9 months (In English and German). Many withing the first 4 months. My pup from a young age was also very difficult to walk. It took countless attempts to gain his attention and focus when walking him. We used treats and toys to gain his focus and muscle memory. We used the correct amount of discipline in all of the above to help harness all of these traits. Being unable to spend more time with our Pup and fully harness his drive. We decided to send him to our Schutzhund trainer. (NOTE: This was done after I myself had spent lots of personal time with him-these dogs cant be muzzle trained at 5 months, they are not monsters so don't treat them as such. That is animal abuse.) He was there for a month to help harness all of the little imperfections that he needed touching up on(leash, lunging and focus).
Our now 11 month old pup is sharp, aggressive and tame. He is still aggressive on a leash when alerted to new dogs or people, and with a simple redirection command, his eyes are connected with mine and ready for new instructions. This dogs drive was mastered with the appropriate training, attention and commitment, all mastered at the owners actions. In other cases, some have neglected (based on the trainers, neglect to understand the breed, poor treatment of their own dog) to reach out to a trainer who has special experience with these kinds of breeds, neglected to spend more time with their working dog using the proper redirection and focus exercises at home and in public at a young age. Neglected to socialize the dog enough in the right scenarios at a young age with the proper attitude and discipline. Such comments insist that the dog is beautiful, loving to them and their family and is truly a joy at home, but that some individuals also do not spend enough time training their dog, and still neglect to do so based on the dogs behavior. This is NOT the dogs fault. Please do not be fooled by individuals who don't know how to train these kinds of dogs, and use excuse for the way their dog turned out. *A dog is only as good as their master!
For those of you who have a working dog, you are aware of the time, dedication and commitment that it takes to have one. We also have all heard of a situation all too similar to this. Where someone didn't understand what they signed up for when getting a working dog. Vom Dreifke has produced the best working dog I have ever had, and I plan to get another. If you're not familiar with what it takes to own a working dog, feel free to contact Vom Dreifke prior to getting one. Or feel free to reaching out to me. Vom Dreifke is very well educated and can help you in your process if you truly would like to add one of these amazing Dogs to your family.

I've had chats with the Ketchum Kennels.(breeder of Kahn and Luna) And hes had great things to say about these two dogs. They are very proud to have produced a dog like (Drago) who in turn produced my dog (Baloo).
Gayle was great through my relationship. Following up with me to make sure my dog was fitting in properly. She even offered to exchange my dog if there were any huge problems.
I think as far as dogs go. Vom Drifke has titled over 25 dogs. 2 of them Grand National International V1 Champions in 2017. 3 Navy Seals and who knows how many search and rescue or academy dogs.
This breeder knows what they are doing! I'm getting another dog from her next month. SO EXCITED! read more
