The first issue I noticed was I had to kindly bug her to send me an updated contract. The contract she sent had blanks where the compensation request should go and I asked her twice to send me a contract with the money and deposit amounts listed on the contract. At first, she suggested I put them in myself. As a business owner myself, I had to ask that she treat me as a client and resend the contract with appropriate amounts. She apologized saying she's a little more relaxed and sent me an updated contract right after that. Then at 28 weeks pregnant, (3 months till delivery) I got an email from her, telling me she was going back to school and if I had my baby on a weekend she would be able to attend but otherwise, she would need to cancel and recommend someone else. It was strange since she told me this shocking news in an email thread that was on another subject, instead of labeling the email something that would catch my eye. To further matters. I had told her I would be incredibly busy during that time and delivering the baby with no other family members present besides my husband. Her email and late cancellation left me sad, a bit frustrated and in a whirlwind to find another Doula so late in the game.

We originally planned to have an unmedicated birth, but I ended up getting an epidural (and I'm glad I did, because I had to be on antibiotics throughout my labor). Nicole made me feel comfortable from the moment we met with her and she was really easy to talk to! During my labor, she helped move me into different positions and explain what was going on. She made me feel like such a champion while I was pushing! We had a great experience and love Nicole!

We…read morehad no idea the level of care our daughter needed, how the program worked or what thos would look like for our family in the upcoming months. From the first assessment we were very thoroughly informed about all the ins and outs of the program and that this was definitely where our daughter needed to be to work through what was happening and begin to heal. The program taught our daughter and us( through multi family group sessions that we attended weekly) how tomwork through the hard feelings and discomfort. I was always impressed to see how involved and willing to participate the clients were and they seemed to really support eachother. Our daughter built some great relationships with therapists and other clients. We had regular sessions with her dietitian as well which was extremely helpful. Questions and issues I had were always dealt with promptly and I never felt like it was a bother for the staff to help. I think my favorite thing were the weekly therapy sessions with my daughter and Becca, she was so easy to talk to and had an incredible way of connecting with my daughter and it was a really great time of communicating for all of us. I was actually kind of sad when I knew we would no longer be having those in person sessions. Beyond happy that my.daughter was healing and moving forward to IOP but sad to no longer see the faces of those who helped her get to this point! Our daughter attended IOP virtually which was a good next step and Inloved that she got to continue her sessions with Becca and her dietitian Becky. Keeping consistent with those she had built bonds with was very important. Overall, Renfrew saved our daughter's life and I am grateful to the whole staff and and the friends our daughter made throughout the program. Without those relationships, she would've continued to struggle. I can't thank them enough for all they did for us and how important family involvement was for her success!
