After several days without any communication, the company finally responded on Saturday exactly a week after canceling the flight and explained they had been out of town, which I completely understand. They asked me for dates that would work to reschedule. However, after the lack of communication leading up to that point, I decided I would rather receive a refund instead. Since requesting my refund, I have not received any further response. I have followed up with text messages, emails, and phone calls, but I still haven't heard back. My disappointment isn't that the flight was canceled--that's understandable. It's the lack of communication throughout the process and the fact that, after requesting a refund, I've been left without any updates. When customers pay several hundred dollars in advance, they deserve clear and timely communication. I truly hope this can be resolved soon because I chose this company based on its outstanding reputation, and I had expected a much better customer experience.

I'm sure there's a reason for the miscommunication, but it's not like Uno Transportation not to return calls, there's always the possibility, that the individual's messages didn't get through. In the years I've worked with them, they've answered my calls and returned them, therefore, I'm confident that what may have happened was certainly not deliberate. Up until yesterday, Carlos was leading with 21consecutive positive 5 Star Reviews which I encourage all to take into consideration, and knowing, that the 1 star comments pale by comparison. I just passed my IFR today @ their new location at Ryan airfield. I did the 5 day, since I had all…read moremy requirements in before coming out & life got in the way to finish in CA @ my home airport. First off, everyone there was great & Mike was my CFI to get me through. He really prepared me for it all, the hardest part for me was getting used to a 430 again. Other than that, I had studied like crazy before coming out & I'm so glad I did!! I'd be so wiped by the end of the day, studying was like looking at a blank page! Not sure if that's just me, but for this 5 day I would recommend being ready for the oral. I came in prepared with realistic expectations, I know this is a hard rating. I also want to recommend staying at Cat Mountain lodge 10 min from the airport. It's a really nice B&B & a perfect place to relax instead of a hotel. They give you $10 breakfast vouchers for across the street. On my early days, they weren't open yet. When I could go, they'd make me lunch while I ate breakfast. Oh yeah, BIG heads up about food!! Go grocery shopping or you'll be stuck eating whatever Circle K has pre-packaged for you or you'll starve. It was intensive, I brought lunch & ate it when I could. Coffee they'll have you covered :) My experience was great!!

Let me preface this review by stating the fact that the week I was scheduled to be at Double Eagle,…read morethe weather was not perfect. But, it was for a CPL rating and the weather was very flyable. Based on schedule, and the 3 other reviews, I decided to go to Double Eagle for my CPL rating. I was told that the class consists of a dedicated instructor with 2 hrs in the airplane and 6 hrs ground school every day, with the practical test on the 6th day. I had a few conversations with them, scheduled the date, paid the (non-refundable) deposit, and was told the CFI would contact me with the details of preparation, what to bring, etc. The week before the class I still hadn't heard from the instructor. When I called them, they told me that the instructor assigned to me had quit the day before without any notice and they would assign me a new instructor. I was told that the new instructor was an F16 pilot/instructor. This last part seems really odd since during my discussions with the CFI, he had recently did his CPL (in a C152) and was currently taking a class in College Algebra. I have been a pilot since the 1990's and have owned multiple airplanes, complex & high-performance, that I have flown all over the U.S. The CFI was treating me like a new Private Pilot candidate that he was afraid was going to run us into the ground. In the "ground school" portion, he spent more time talking about flying a traffic pattern than anything else. Opposed to the "dedicated instructor" I was supposed to receive, I was also being cycled into the CFI's schedule with a local PPL student. Instead of starting on Monday, as the schedule stated, the CFI wanted me to be there 9 am Sunday morning to start. That, of course, messed up my whole schedule since I was traveling to Tucson for the training. As for the time allocated to me, instead of the 2/6 (air/ground) per day I received 2.2/2.8 on the first day, 1.4 (all in the pattern)/4.1 on the second day, and 0/2.6 on the third day. On Wednesday morning, with the weather at KTUS stating ceilings of 5500-6000 ft and the practice area clear (picture from when I was driving home is attached), he said the weather was too bad to get the flying time in to be ready for the checkride and wanted to reschedule. I did finish up the CPL elsewhere, not at a "bootcamp" school, with a very smooth practical test. Considering the cost and time, this was the most expensive flight instruction that I have every had and I left with them not even offering me a break on the rescheduled dates, or the option to pick-up where we left off.
