My first hypnotherapy visit with Patrick was a success! After reading Liane Moriarty's novel "The…read moreHypnotist's Love Story," I decided I'd give hypnotherapy a try. Patrick was kind, patient, and knowledgable. He spent lots of time explaining the process to me and listening to my fears, anxieties, and concerns. Then, he took me on a journey into my mind. I didn't feel scared or vulnerable - I felt safe. The most telling part of the visit was the fact that, at the end, Patrick said, "Okay, good luck!" He didn't try and reschedule a second visit or anything. This, to me, means that he's doing the work for the work's sake, and if one visit is all it takes, so be it. Most specialists want to get you on the client list, but the revenue stream is not what Patrick is here for. Bottom line: Give hypnotherapy a try if you're frustrated by other treatments out there. Take advantage of the amazing healers Santa Fe has to offer!

One star is far too many for this self-proclaimed "self-defense" school. I had asked for in-person…read moreclasses, but was instead steered towards an online version, wherein I was assured that I would learn valuable vocal tools that would help me defend myself. Alas, after a lengthy introduction, wherein we were all prompted - no less than four times - to state "our pronouns" out loud and repeatedly, we were taught what to say to friends who hug us without our consent. There was nothing about real self-defense, just made-up "microaggressions" for those with no spine or sense of self. Let the record show that when I chose to not specify "my pronouns" (on a Zoom call wherein no one was being referred to in the third person), I was not only called out on the call, but messaged in the private chat by the instructor who was concerned that I wasn't jumping on the pronoun bandwagon. I'm guessing they got grant money during the shut-down, and were thus strongarmed into this kind of indoctrination, but it was offensively misleading to call this a self-defense class, when it would be more accurately described as a reeducation camp.

Their…read morehighly relevant curriculum prepared me to deal with everything from uncomfortable everyday scenarios to unexpected, life threatening situations. The classroom environment was supportive and encouraging in the true sense of the word--giving students the courage to face the challenging training exercises. Instructors are fantastic facilitators, covering tons of pertinent, thoughtfully prepared information in an authoritative yet sensitive manner--all in only a few hours. I've taken their basics course twice now and was surprised by how much I learned each time. I would definitely take the advanced course or return to basics again. I highly recommend the class to everyone, regardless of their age, lifestyle, fitness or history.
