If you want to, go to preschool here. Go to kindergarten here. DON'T GO TO ELEMENTARY HERE. Here's…read morethe story. It started in August of 2025. The 4-6th grade teacher had started off the school year to a bad start. His attitude was impossible to ignore. The class had 10 people. Then somebody left. The head teacher's attitude was more rude than 10 middle fingers floating around your head, telling you terrible things. He also had a problem with his temper and patience. For example, somebody drew a little happy face on their work. It was a geography packet, and the entire class got one. It was not limited edition. Now, I need somebody to explain what is wrong with a happy face. Drawing it took 1.5 seconds max, and it's not distracting the entire class. In fact, having any more form of positivity in that classroom would be perfect. The teacher saw it, and got mad. He told the student that drew it that they were "lazy". Now, correct me if i'm wrong, but that's fucked up! The next important thing that happened that year, was that 2 more people left the school. Coincidentally, they were both people in his cl(ass)! A while later into the year, somebody was needing help with homework. They were having so much trouble, that they started to cry. That's when the teacher spoke. He told them they they were "helpless". You heard that, helpless. He didn't even try to comfort them. Please save yourself and your kids from this dickhead, and goodbye. Edit: We also did yoga every morning, and one of the poses was upside down. That fuckass teacher said, and i quote, "[kids name]! I can see your bum.". What. The. Fuck. -Anonymous

5 STAR REVIEW La Maripossa Montessori school is a total gem…read moreand I am incredibly grateful my 2 children attend the school.  The staff is wonderful and each member of the team is so engaged and genuinely cares for the kids creating a fun learning environment where they can accelerate at the pace that suits each child.  The environment is exceptional with a very creative playground, kids can climb, use swings, take care of live animals including goats, chickens, and horses, it's totally amazing!  The guest teachers that come through are often masters in their fields and enrich the experience with special teachers for subjects such as piano, art, Spanish, and science among many others.   I love that the class rooms include a range of ages to give children the experience of being mentored by older students and eventually becoming a mentor themselves as they progress within the class.  The internationally focused curriculum gives students a sense of their place in the world where different cultures are celebrated.  The decorations and extensive planning that the staff put into holidays is incredible, and it seems like every month there is a wonderful celebration.  The older children are very engaged in the community and go on frequent field trips to places such as animal shelters, an elderly home, and out to train service dogs.  How much fun to go and play with puppies as part of your school work, no wonder the kids are happy when you pick them up!   When the older kids test perfectly in geography, those students are invited out to lunch to a restaurant of that continent as a special treat, what a great incentive.  My sixth grade son even had the opportunity to deliver the American Creed at the roundhouse, which was a huge confidence booster and an excellent experience.  The staff also encouraged us to test him within the John Hopkins University for Talented Youth program and he passed the test with high honors which is now a great accolade going forward. I am in awe that I can honestly say my kids have been happy every time I have picked them up from school.  The level of commitment and attention to detail that is required to achieve that level of happiness within a school environment speaks volumes in itself.  I recommend this school to anyone seeking a truly nurturing, stimulating, positive, creative, dynamic, and healthy environment for their children to give them the very best start in life!

My child still teaches me yoga she taught him, or talks about how he used to read the Dragon Wings series with her in 3rd grade, her taking a page, him the next. I still read with him at home in this way, now Harry Potter. He speaks fondly of her and misses her and I am grateful for any time we had with her before she stopped teaching. She was pure love. He had kind, caring kids here who reached out to one another and who really were invested in one another. He enjoyed playing chess or gnomes or wolves with the kids and the kids were still kids! Playing! It was a mixed age classroom of 1st-5th grade and he was in 3rd grade and had friends in each grade. He would sometimes ask to stay after school to be with friends and draw gnomes or Pac Man together, or to play dragons or wolves. This school emphasized play and I love that they let the kids sled and have snow ball fights. We loved their Dia De Los Muertos celebration and the rooms where they did project-based learning, art, reading and math was so cozy. We really loved the art my son came home with and are still friends with a family we are very glad to still be connected to. This is education as I always dreamed it to be. And the administration did not shy away from addressing what needed to be addressed with kindness, compassion and integrity, a lot of honesty here despite life's struggles, which are always there. We are grateful we had this. My son learned a lot of his firsts here, around reading, math, social groups. We are glad for the lasting impact and as another parent said, "well, you have to pay something to expect value." yes, valuable indeed, what we received. (It is never about a model of education, but about the individuals and character we find in any given place. While we got on board with the model Little Earth espouses, it was more about finding the right people in the right place, that impressed us so deeply. It was the families, kids, and educators, staff and administrators, too, who held so much heart, no matter what their education pedagogy was.)
