The refuse service provided by Vogel is poor. At least once a month we must call into customer service because either our refuse or recycles are not picked up. Furthermore, when they do empty the Recycle Bin only 1/2 of the contents are removed. We are not on a back road or in a difficult area for the trucks to navigate yet they are incapable of consistently picking up our refuse and/or recycles. We are not a new customer! We have been at this address for more than 17 months. We are reasonable people and understand that there could be new workers on the job or a person filling in for another employee that might impact the refuse/recycle pickup but once a month having to call is simply a management issue. When we lived in the Gibsonia area, we never had these issues. I honestly feel bad for the client and customer service agents who must deal with customers. It places them in awkward positions. I am not sure these reviews even matter as Vogel knows they have a multi-year contract so why worry about service levels. read more

if I could give zero stars I would. this company's employees do the bare minimum, being they know they have policies that protect them and encourage them to do nothing outside of their tiny job description. I had a nice garbage can about 70 gallons that my landlord provided for me . I lived there for a year and suddenly they wouldn't pick my garbage up . No letter no warning just two weeks of ignoring my garbage . I call to find out they only take 43 gallon garbage cans and I could have 7 of them but not one 70gallon . So they rather pick up 7 cans than one and honestly the truck is physically picking up the cans , not them . Easter comes and goes and after a holiday all company's pick up the next day after the normal day . Well I heard them coming up the street on the regular day and I ran out to put my garbage out and the man says "sorry we already went aroun . They were in front of my house taking garbage from the house two doors down. I call customer service and she goes on to say "oh they must've been on a different route and it could mess up their schedule, blah blah blah" please tell me how does lifting up one garbage can when you're already in front of my house deterring anybody's schedule. They just know that they can do the bare minimum and they don't care about their consumers. I know several people that deal with them and they have nothing but complaints. Their reviews speak for themselves . There's no communication the company does not care. Whoever the gentleman that was working beforehand, that was picking up my 70 gallon garbage can he never complained about it deterring his schedule because it didn't, and those are the sort of people that you want to deal with, people that will go outside of their normal job description to help the people that pay their salary . The garbagemen , the customer service, The whole company in my opinion is trash. They need to put themselves in a garbage can and take themselves out. I wish to God my landlord would go through waste management. I have Vogel for a while now as it is the only one we ade allowed to use per HOA. There are soo many times they pick my trash up.but don't empty the whole bin. Or the times they just skip mine but do the rest if the street, even though it is out with everyone elses in the spot where it should be. And customer service just says they never were there or they will come back- which is a blantant lie. It is even more frustrating that they raised our rates this year and the next 5 years. Not just a little either. And we can't say no. I can see it for some resources- like gas is actually more expensive so I expected my gas bill to go up. But um, why the huge increase in garbage. Vogel was fantastic when we first started with them in 2021. The drivers were extremely wonderful people. Then they got the hand arm things that come off the side of the truck to pick up the garbage and we were instructed to put our garbage outside on the street on the sewage grates , which I know is not legal. I complained about it to the office and was pretty much yelled at and told that they will not pick up my garbage unless it's on the grates. One night when it was dark out, we had to put our garbage out by 5:30 p.m. it was dark and a car came down the street with their brights on , I turned toward the car and could not see anything but black when I turned back around to pay attention to the garbage bins, and I twisted my ankle inside the grate and fell to my knees​ landing hard on my left knee ON THE ROAD. The car kept coming fast and almost hit me because they did not see me. I am very lucky that my daughter was with me that night because she had to help me get up. I skinned my left knee pretty badly. In 2 weeks after that I just suddenly could not walk on that leg. I ended up with bursitis and Spurs on that knee due to the fall. That was a year ago and I still cannot walk correctly. I am in constant pain even when I am not walking. It has ruined my life, I can't get any help from doctors telling me I pretty much have to suck it up, and I am not okay to go anywhere anymore. Which is really ironic because I remember talking to the manager and told him that I would One Day end up getting hurt because somebody was going to hit me because I had to put the garbage bins in the road. And Wallah... Here we are!!!. And the thing is is that I don't even pay for the garbage bill, it is my son that does and for some reason he just decided to not deal with Vogel anymore because he said that they weren't worth it. And as far as I know it had nothing to do with the fact that I got hurt because of Vogel, it was something else.but I am glad because now we have waste management and they have no problem picking up the bins from the other side of our driveway. The thing that bothers me is the manager wouldn't even listen to me in fact he was very mean to me along with some other guy that was there with him. Thanks Vogel. Terrible customer service, (promised things that never happen-as in YES we will pick up on Tuesday, but don't show up) terrible billing accuracy ( I prepay my bill 6 months in advance yet I get a BILLING CHARGE every month which isn't necessary. I used to pay a YEAR in advance but then they kept changing their monthly rate, so it never worked out to a years worth of service). They have a terrible problem sticking to their scheduled pick ups-sometimes they come 2 weeks in a row, and then they skip 3 weeks. .. If there was another dumpster service in my area, I would absolutely look into it. read more

They aren't even worthy of 1 star! I had Vogel trash service for just over two years and all the other negative reviews are true. They are not very consistent with their collection schedule and when you call customer service about missing a pickup day, they have a very cavalier attitude about customers not receiving the service they pay for. What finally lead me to cancel was around Christmas when Friday pickup didn't happen, at least not mine, though others along my road had theirs picked up. I called and was told they would be back on Saturday, but that didn't happen, and they never came until Tuesday. So I called to cancel on the 30th, although I had already been billed for the next quarter the week prior. I switched to another service and started at the beginning of the year, but Vogel still picked up my trash for the next two weeks, even in the new cans that had the markings of the new service I switched to. But the real kicker is that my refund, which should have been for the $90 I was billed ended being only $66, because they apparently have a $20 can pickup fee when you cancel, though I was never told this when I called. Horrible service. They switched their policies for 2024 with little to no notice. Now required to use their own garbage cans for everything and they charge more for additional cans. Nothing is picked up outside of a can, even larger items like big cardboard boxes. They used to take anything. So now paying more for far less service, and they have a monopoly for the next four years. read more

One star is too generous! I'd give no stars if I could. Paying almost $90.00 for service that we do not always receive. Then calling you get the run around saying they either don't have enough trucks or people. If you don't have enough employees then you need to tighten your coverage area to not include so much. At least twice a month my road is missed. When you call they tell you to wait a day or two and see if it comes, then after waiting two days you call back and they tell you it's too late and you'll have to wait till next week. This is the most ridiculous company ever. read more

Won't take items even if it's sticking out the top of bin. Not outside the bin. Recyclables just lifting up lid. No warnings, I've have never been notified before. I had to call. Wanted to give me a $1 credit for not picking up this weeks recycle when I asked to be credited for no pick up.(should I of been insulted?)They claimed I don't pay a bill for recycling, I only pay a bill for garbage and recycling pick up is a "courtesy". Does that sound right? They changed their policies without telling me. Up until last year the drivers always picked up stuff outside bins. There is a new guideline in effect. Doesn't make sense, but now they won't take it if it lifts up the bin lid. I did have a very full bin but the lid still leaned over the top of the recycling. Another policy/guidline they say is to keep bins 3 feet apart on pickup day. How many people pay attention to that? They get picked up...right? Long story longer just make sure you know their newest guidelines or they charge you $35 to make an extra trip. And $3 dollars per bundle of extra cardboard (not in the bin). Don't know the size guidelines on the extra bundles. Sounds like a money grab to me. It was my first time ever being made aware of this new guideline. Would appreciate a warning first. It may deter people from recycling everything. Remember when there would be 1-2 people behind the garbage truck. They'd pick up everything. Now I can't get a 1 manned machine to take 1 bin with recyclables sticking out of the lid. It just feels like one more unnecessary thing being made into a scam. We live in Butler on Miller Ave. Again they did not pick up our garbage or our neighhbors . The ones across the street got theirs pick up. Why? said they couldnt get their truck to our street. So come the next day. Never have we ever had problems with our garbage company like we are now. The neighbors next door and the day care havent been pickedup either. My husband and I are in our 70s and we have to drag our garbage back and put it out next week, hoping they will pick it up then.This is ridiculous. What an outstandingly poorly run company. There really are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe the depths of their incompetence. We missed our garbage delivery time so we called right away and paid for an extra pickup. This was on a Wednesday. They told us they would come out the same day and pick it up. Nothing. We called Thursday and they promised and again - nothing. I called Friday and the lady said they would come by 11 on Saturday. It is 1:30 pm Saturday and guess what? Whoever is leading this joke of an organization should be fired immediately. There is no excuse for this. It is clear that they have a captive market and no competition. They are as akin to a government entity that they can be, which always leads to incompetence. Fire all the management at once and rebuild this into a company worth patronizing. Very displeased with the service we've been having for the past several months. We have had to call every week for our trash to be picked up. On a consistent basis the drivers and now the supervisor state that our trash is never out, which is a lie. Currently we've had our trash out on the sidewalk for 2 weeks with no pick-up. We live in an alley and have never had issues until now, it seems to me that the drivers are lazy and refuse to drive down the alley when they have to do it to grab the dumpster of the building right next to us anyways. We purposely make sure our trash is visible and cars are out of the way so that the driver may gain access to our trash but EVERY WEEK they tell us "the trash wasn't out" and at this point it's getting ridiculous. I have had Vogel for a little over 20 years now and their service has gone completely downhill over the last 5-10 years! We live on a secondary road which is maintained in the winter months but our trash will set for at least 2 weeks before they finally will come and get it. When I call them they say they will send someone out to pick it up, but they don't. Even when it is not winter they still miss our road. They have to drive passed our road to pick up trash on the road that gets to our road ( our road is in the middle of the other road), and all their trash gets picked up. When I call to see about when they will come get it, I just get that they will sometime that week and then of course they don't. We have been waiting on a replacement Vogel can for months now. My Fiance' watched the garbageman a couple times throw our big can around and it caused a few large cracks. I finally got tired of calling to see when they were going to bring the new one. They sure do want their payments but will not even consider deducting any off your bill for the weeks that our trash has sat out waiting to be picked up. Their customer service reps are just downright rude! It is never a good experience when I have to call in to Vogel customer service. I have not spoke with someone who was not rude any time I have called them. I understand that right now are some trying times, but this has been happening for years at our address. They are sometimes sloppy when they empty our cans,so glass breaks and I have to go collect splinters on the road.Happened at least three times last year.Last week,they topped it by leaving a can half full.The bottom had styrofoam pieces in it,they did not bother to empty manually.Avoid them if you can! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Over the past 10 years they have broken at least seven or eight of my township issued garbage bins. They constantly leave my bins in the middle of the road and often times just skip a few houses and they don't pick up the trash. Their customer service is a joke. We have had this refuse company for over 10 years and never had a problem worth writing a bad review about. As with all services being run by humans occasionally there maybe something that is off. On that rare occasion we would call Vogel and they would correct it. The reason for this review is the last transaction to pick up some bathroom remodeling debris. I stopped at the office and talked to the ladies who could not have been nicer. We discussed what needed to be picked up and I was given a quote which I thought was a great quote for I could not have done better anywhere else getting debris picked up. I even agreed to pay a little bit more for insurance that all would be picked up. And you know what? There was nothing left in driveway except my two garbage cans and lids. So of course I could not be happier with this transaction from start to finish. Job well done!!!!! read more

My garbage can lid is lying on the road most pick up days. I shouldn't have to buy a Vogel garbage can for decent service and a service I pay for. I would love to have Morrow back. I am a great grandmother of 11 and grandmother of 9 I am old. I use the senior stickers. I put my bag where the garbage man told me to 7 years ago. They always picked it up. Now must be a new guy he picks up 5:30am and leaves my bag. I had to bring it back in my house in the heat for a week and it smelled bad. So I was up waiting this week and he still refused to pickup my bag. I cannot keep using more and more stickers to have him take the same bag. I had to put it in another bag because it was tearing and the sticker was inside so I had to use another one. He argued with me that it was not close enough to the curb. But last week I had it closer and he left it. I am so frustrated. He will be old some day too, he better watch because you reap what you sow. :( read more

We are in day 4 of having our trash cans baking in the hot sun at the curb. Was told that the driver could not finish his route on Monday and that the trash would be picked up on Wednesday. Trash still there. Called again today. Was told they had lots of call offs this week. Other businesses get the job done when they have call offs. Why can't Vogel? They certainly need a back up plan. Absolutely TERRIBLE! Claim they cannot get the regular truck down my street and are supposed to send a smaller one to get me and my neighbor. This has been going on for MONTHS. They skip me nearly every week and I have to call the get them to come. I've even called the city multiple times. I am sick and tired of having to BEG them to do their job. They pick everyone on the neighborhood up except for me. Today they picked up the neighbor, but not me. Butler City needs to go back to Waste Management. They were somehow able to get their truck down here with no EXCUSES. OH, "we had a bunch of call offs blah blah." Bull. It's been EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK. And I have no choice but to put up with it. Vogel drivers are the worst. They drop stuff all the time and just leave it lay. They see the slightest bit of snow, no reason to pick up trash. Then you call up and people will say they will pick it up but never come pick it up. They just say what you want to hear to make you go away. read more

For four years Vogel Disposal Service has failed to pick up my recycling more often than not. They do pick it up another day after I call customer service, but having to call, and usually wait on hold, is a hassle. Also, having the cart at the end of my driveway for 2-5 days is inconvenient and unsightly. Lately, they have also failed to pick up my garbage several times, requiring a phone call and having the garbage cart at the end of my driveway for two or more days. read more

Missed a payment by accident, which happens. But I paid the bill online and expect my garbage to be picked up. It was not. I called to ask them to come back and all they said is it takes 48 hours to reflect in the system and basically not their problem. Which I said, it is your problem as it's your system and my bill was paid for the service and they refused to come back and get my garbage. Given their reviews online and my issues with them, we need another option. Also, my understanding is the recycling is not actually recycled and goes to the same place. read more

Vogel Disposal customer service and overall reliability is terrible. If you have any other choice in a refuse company please consider giving them your business over Vogel. They consistently miss pickup dates a few times ( usually 3 ) a year. So , although you pay for 52 weeks of service you will really get less than that. Based on a $900 a year cost / by 52 weeks, average weekly cost is $17.30 They refuse to refund for services not provided. I believe they rotate these outages of service around the counties and communities they serve and at the end of the year it's a savings to them in the thousands and thousands of dollars. They will refer you to an accounts supervisor who has voicemail only and never calls you back to discuss this. Please be aware, Waste Management does the same thing, we actually switched to Vogel from WM and realize now this is an industry wide tactic. I really doubt there are any honorable and ethical privately owned refuse companies in business anymore. I hope to get a petition of customers in my area ( dozens) and present this to the Pennsylvania State attorney general and the PUC for fraudulent business practices. read more

Unfortunately Vogel keeps giving the lowest bid, so the township (Pine) keeps using them. Rates are high in my opinion. And their customer service sucks - incompetent and unethical. Three recent issues might serve as examples. 1)There had been a promotion going on to encourage you to sign up for auto payment. It was detailed on the postcard bill they send and said the promotion (I think it was a couple dollar credit) was good through a certain date. I called to ask about it well before that date and they said the promotion was over. Huh? When I asked about auto pay in general, they said they would charge the credit card or debit the checking account on the day the bill was sent(!) No other auto pay I have set up does this - they take the money on the DUE DATE, not billing date! 2) I had made a one-time payment over the phone using a credit card. The next bill I received showed the new amount due had been charged to that credit card even though I had never authorized the credit card info to be kept on file (that wasn't even asked or discussed) and had not signed up for auto pay. 3) I called this afternoon around 2PM to ask about pick up for two small kitchen cabinets on our collection day tomorrow. The girl asked for my address and said it would $5 per cabinet and I could prepay over the phone with a credit or debit card. When I called back - around 4:30PM - to make those arrangements, a different girl said I had to put stickers on them that you buy at the Pine Twp municipal building. When I told her what the first girl had said, she said that was wrong - Pine uses stickers. So why didn't the first girl know that, esp since she asked for my address?! Of course now the township building is closed, so unlikely the cabinets will get picked up tomorrow. They are supposed to call me back in the morning after talking with the supervisor (who left at 3:30 today). Too bad they have a monopoly on the township. read more
