After a long search to find a new primary care physician in Santa Maria (they're scarce), I am so…read morepleased to have been accepted as a patient by Dr. Peter Scott! I liked Dr. Scott immediately! He is young, seems health conscious, and he listened when I spoke! He seemed genuinely interested in working with me on my concerns, as I try to lose weight and improve my health. He authorized the blood tests I asked for, and the results have helped me to see where I'm making progress and where my lifestyle still needs work. He also referred me to a specialist I needed to see in order to follow up on a serious health issue. I made my appointment with Dr. Scott mainly because I had heard so many good things about the facility he joined-- Family Care of Santa Maria. Most of their doctors are too busy to see new patients, but they are some of the most popular and highly rated physicians in Santa Maria. I feel lucky to be able to see one of their doctors! The office is conveniently located across from Trader Joe's, and the parking is convenient. I'm as impressed with the staff at the facility as I am with Dr. Scott. Everyone I've dealt with there (receptionists and the medical assistants) has been friendly and a genuine pleasure to deal with. I get the feeling they are treated well, and it shows. I actually enjoy going there. The waiting area is clean and pleasant. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get through on the phone, but that's a minor concern-- I've always been able to get an appointment, or get my question answered, etc. If you are looking for a new physician, I highly recommend Dr. Scott, as well as Family Care of Santa Maria!

Crystal and her demeanor are a perfect example of why many people are afraid to ask important questions about their health, bc they're worried they're going to be met with misplaced condescension. Well, clearly, Crystal, not "everything" was explained if there was a follow-up question, but the obvious assumption and underhanded implication in your statement is that you and your team cannot possibly have any blind spots, and that- because you don't have any blind spots- anyone who asks you a question must clearly be stupid. Crystal- you are in the healthcare space, but you don't belong in it as long as you treat patients with that demeanor. Do better. That attitude is in very poor taste. Do you treat patients the way you want your most loved ones to be treated? Please ask yourself this next time someone is reaching out to you for help. It is a nasty thing to be in a position to help someone experiencing vulnerability, and to use that opportunity to be rude and condescending.

By the time I got him inside I was informed we were 7 minutes late. There was No one waiting, the receptionist told me she was going ask the dr if she would still see my son. I told her they usually will accept you sometimes up until 15 minutes late. I told her by the time I got the wheelchair out and the foot rests on it made us the 7 minutes late. Dr would not see him and there are no appointments available for at least a month. I was so upset...1:52 and absolutely no one waiting.
