I have had a guy come to my house twice this week. I told him I am not interested and I showed him my no soliciting sign that he was standing next too. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel others should know about my experience. I called Vivint in April to cancel my service because I was moving. I believed my cancellation had been processed, but the company continued charging me for months after I moved out and no longer had service at the property. When I contacted them again, I was told my contract ended in July and that they require 30 days' notice. Since I requested cancellation months earlier, I don't understand why my account wasn't canceled at the end of the agreement. I'm still trying to resolve the issue. If you're considering Vivint, I recommend getting every cancellation detail in writing and keeping records of every phone call. read more

-Singed up May 2022 and paid up front for ALL the equipment. -Moved April 2023, they cam and took the equipment down. They never came to new address and reinstalled. Continued to charge monthly until Jan 2024. Had to cancel card at bank due to no service or equipment hooked up. -Called in June 2024, they still had open move order. Had two "salesmen" knock on my door and asked my wife a bunch of super suspicious questions that led me to believe these men could be casing my house for theft. If these were genuine sales people from a respectable company they need to be transparent and show good intentions and that is not what I got from interacting with them. This security system is absolutely terrible, and I strongly advise against using it, even if it were the only option available on the entire planet. The customer service is beyond horrendous. My system didn't work, and when I requested assistance, they refused to come and fix it promptly. Instead, they informed me that it would take 3 to 5 days to receive a refund after I canceled. However, it has now been 15 days, and I am still waiting without any sign of my refund. To make matters worse, they now inform me that I have to wait an additional 30 days because I had to send a physical letter, despite them originally sending me an email confirming my cancellation process. And when I didn't contact them for a few more days, they had the audacity to tell me I have to wait another 30 days. This company is unequivocally the worst I have ever encountered. Save your precious time, money, and energy by avoiding them completely. Don't bother reaching out to their customer service because not a single person, including the supervisors, has a clue about what they're doing. This is hands-down the worst company, and they don't even deserve a single star. Absolutely atrocious. I have countless emails and phone recordings that mean nothing because they do nothing about it. When we first bought our house we were going to sign up with Vivint. We were not getting what we were promised so we cancelled the service and went with ADT. We had a sales rep come by earlier today and tried to sell us on the service. We were leaving and didn't have time for him. After we got back home came back about 9:15 pm. This is ridiculous that he came back after 9. I told him that we were not changing to Vivint and asked him to leave. He and I had words and it was hard to get him to leave. Vivint's customer service is one of the poorest in the industry. To set an appointment its a week out and then they make you verify 3 times that you will be there for the full 4 hour window set for the appointment. Then they don't show up for the appointment, they didn't call, text nor email. Improperly installation of video cameras and doorbell camera and control panel was left linked against my bedroom lamp with no stand and not being properly mounted to the wall like it supposed to the camera does not allow for immediate viewing or communication or for that matter even DVR access at most times door and window sensors will go off window footage when clearly there was somebody moving to open the door as well as in adequate customer service and customer loyalty department after trying to cancel service multiple times, after being told that a technician was going to come and fix the incomplete installation after finding out that the second technician canceled the work order due to so-called nobody answering his phone call when he called after schedule time and date was already appointment and there is plenty of cameras to notify me when he gets here "" so why would you cancel the appointment or not show up at my home , also I did as he was never verified at the time of installation therefore being a Nolan void contract saying how me being the account holder wasn't the one that originally set up service in after paying $2600 for the same exact service and equipment at ADT was offering and I had in my home at $600. We was told that I would have better access to the cameras and control over the home. And as a senior, I have the right to petition test and cancel at any given time as well as I will be taking part of the class action lawsuit seeing her after trying to cancel multiple times through phone calls within definite haul times for customer, loyalty department, and via chat and being redirected. Back to a department that clearly won't let you cancel. Horrible company needs to be shut down. read more

The wife of one of the employees at Vivint logged into my account somehow using my personal preset pin code and made changes to my account like adjusting payment methods and cancelling autopay. I am taking legal action. Not that I need anything else, but the phone app doesn't work over half the time, and their customer service is nonexistent. I've used 4 alarm companies, and this is by far the worst. If you are looking for an alarm company I would avoid this organization at all costs. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. They have so many hidden fees and regulations, that are never mentioned in the 'contract'. They have tried to make us pay double, when we have auto draft so not sure how they think that's going to work. Also when we asked to get out of the contract, they said we owe 800+ on the equipment...we bought the house with the equipment left in the house! All we did was ask them to set up services. We didn't buy any new equipment, it was paid for from the previous owners. Would never remind them again. Go with someone else. read more

The service is ok and the concept is good. They do get you on the high quality video that the doorbell camera has, it doesn't. Also I have had continuous problems with the doorbell not recording, and currently it has deleted all of my videos and has stopped recording again. All I get is " I'm really sorry about that Sir let me reset that for you" I'll make sure I tell the guy that breaks in to please hold on whilst I get my camera reset so we can catch him later. Extremely aggravating paying for something that doesn't work and the fix is like putting bubblegum in a leaking dam. Bout to make my 5th call for the same problem in less than a year. read more

Very quick to get things installed but the service after the installation is horrible. I have been without some of the features for over a month because parts were not shipped when they said and then was unable to schedule a technician for over two weeks. Vivint is behind in Technology. Their Sky Panel can onl y handle 2.4ghz and is not capable of handling 4 cameras. I have had them 3 years and freezing, cameras going offline, door bell camera not working. Ring door bell camera is 5ghz and works faster , need camera is 5ghz and live is faster. VIVINT three years ago was ahead of the game. THEY ARE NOW THE PAST. BUYER BEWARE, Their current panel stinks, they need a new panel that can handle all the changes. There tech's all have said their panels cannot keep up, their contract says that cameras and other equipment is not guaranteed to work. So cameras don't work that is to bad they sad. read more

We were reluctant at first to sign up for the service because of so many negative reviews but, seriously, who really gets on here to write POSITIVE reviews? The sales rep who came to our door was excellent and so was the installer. Very quick installation as well. In and out in 20 minutes. We decided to upgrade our service the very next day and they were here within 30 minutes and had us installed within 10. We did have a minor issue with an alarm going off because of a bad setting but the monitoring tech provided us with the technical service number and they were able to solve the problem in less than 10 minutes. We have had the service for several years and it has never failed us. The support is among the best in any industry. The support staff is friendly, responsive and very helpful. The equipment Alarm, Smoke detectors, CO2 detector, and Camera are reliable and add to the security. The ability to check and set status from my phone or laptop is well implemented and useful. We tried the thermostat. unfortunately it was not compatible with our system. While it was in use it was very usable and friendly. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a security system. read more
