I had been wanted to get another tattoo, and when I saw Friday the 13th was coming up.... decided why not then. Vivid tattoos were offering Friday the 13th specials on flash or custom and wanted to check them out. I arrived early as I wasn't sure if there'd be a long line. I have been to places b4 where the lines were ridiculous. Luckily, I arrived right when they opened and there was 1 only couple ahead of me. Of course, by the time I was in the chair more and more people had started coming in.I showed the artist Yesi, my design and she drew it out and made sure it was to my liking. As she was prepping to start of course fear crept in as it's been awhile since my last tattoo and I asked if my shoulder area was going to hurt much. She was kind and told me how she's pretty gentle handed, but if at anytime I needed her to stop, just let her know. That eased my nerves and once she became, I was like... wait?! I barely felt anything.... even when she was doing some shading the pressure was fine. When she told me she was finished I was shocked, by how truly gentle handed she was. I loved the finished work, and would definitely comeback if I get the itch for another tattoo. read more

I walked in for a helix piercing and i would not recommend going here. They marked the location on my ear and then pierced a completely different spot than the one agreed upon. Unfortunately i did not notice how badly it was done until after leaving. I had to take it out in a bar bathroom because it hurt so bad. The person piercing me claimed they have done many helixes before but that is clearly not the case. There were a few red flags that indicated inexperience on my piercers part. I would not recommend going here for a second helix piercing as they will either want to pierce it super low or will pierce it in an incredibly weird place. read more

Man.... This was bad. Came to get my Medusa redone after it closed 6 months ago. They stuck me with the needle, took it out, then tried to put the jewelry in and couldn't so they then restuck me with THE SAME NEEDLE without warning. I've never bled from a piercing or tattoo but this person had me bleeding like crazy! They didn't even clean the blood off my face after and I only knew my face was covered in blood after I got back to my car. They gave me a $10 discount but my piercing is stuck in crooked. Also, didn't check my ID, have me sign any paperwork, or talk about aftercare at all. Probably the most unprofessional and worst piercing experience I've had. I was feeling a little sketchy about this place at first but I just wanna give a huge shout-out to Sasha and Gary. Sasha has been tattooing for a small amount of time and her line work is fire, that girl knows what she's doing. She tattooed my cousin and did a fantastic job. She made her feel comfortable as it was my cousins first time. I had a little bit of a hard time with another artist for my first tattoo and Gary was so fast to fix it. He jumped on it right away. I was scared and stressed because it was my first tattoo and I was botched basically. But he fixed it and did a great job, he was so sweet about it and told me if I ever wanted to come back and do a cover up that it could definitely be done. So, I came into San Diego from out of town on vacation and I was set on getting my nose pierced while I was in town. I waited until the last night of my trip to make it happen and that just so happened to be Labor Day. After calling dozens of places I finally got in touch with Someone and they let me know the piercer would be there at the end of the day, the price was in my budget too. I was all about it. I call to make sure they were there before heading out and it turns out the employees left home early! I messaged their Facebook and was able to get in contact with some one and they sent out an amaaaazing piercer! I got pierced by Ms. Heather and she was the sweetest, most patient woman ever. She let me know the differences in placement between a stud and a ring and let me know what was happening even though I had my eyes closed. The process took about an hour from my arrival time (which I did not have an appointment for) to begin the tattooing process. I found this helpful because, it really gives you time to decide if the ink you are getting is really what you want permanently on your body. So, about a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday, my girl friend and I were on a mission to find a tattoo shop that would take in our last minute request (I know what you're thinking, we should have made an appt). This place was luckily our third charm! This tattoo was to signify our sisterhood. It was also going to be my very FIRST tattoo. This was something spontaneous and I would never have done this but that day I went for it. We already knew we wanted something floral, but we weren't going to have the same exact designs. We had pictures to show and were just a little indecisive still, but Andre was so helpful and patient with us. He didn't seem aggressive about the designs we showed him because one other shop made us feel dumb about not knowing the name of the flower, tried to explain how the size wouldn't have worked out and that it needed to be bigger, then gave us an overpriced quote. Andre DID NOT do any of that! That's why I am giving this place 5 stars. I felt comfortable with him being my artist. He answered every question we had for him before beginning and definitely explained the after care to us. My tattoo had very fine thin lines, so idk if that's why I actually didn't feel as much pain as I thought I would because I was so scared at first. It wasn't too bad after all and it healed just fine. I can't believe I'm actually saying this either but now I know how tatted people feel... the addiction is real LOL.
