Viva! Viva! Viva! I was sucked in with cheap airfares. It all looks so enticing, when they flash this low, low price for getting from Texas to the beaches of Mexico. We had to stop here in Monterrey, on the way from Quintana Roo to Texas. The flight lacked legroom, and everything onboard was plastered with advertisements. There was no meal, no complimentary tequila shots once we got airborne. There was no inflight movie. The flight staff all seemed so redundant on the ground here in Monterrey. They'd have everyone stand in line to get their documents scanned and checked, and stapled, then stand in another line in the next room over to do the exact same thing. It kinda felt like the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. The planes were clean, and we managed to stay within a few hours of the departure time. After they counted all of the fees for baggage, choosing a seat, etc. it might've just about been cheaper to fly AeroMexico. read more

If I could give this airline a zero star I would. Their service is awful. We got there one hour before boarding because there was a bad accident on our way to the airport. People are not even boarding yet and they will not give us our boarding tickets because we were supposed to be there four hours before the flight. Call customer service and their service was awful.. Last night I was scheduled to return to San Diego via Tijuana CBX from the City of Puebla.. I arrived to the airport and after passing the security screen I proceeded to look at the monitor to find my gate, it said my flight was out of gate three, I went to said gate and there was no plane, I thought it was late, sat there and waited. After a while I saw a plane leave and another's one arrive at gate two. I stood up and asked the people from Viva Aerobus who informed my flight left from gate number two. After explaining I never heard the paging for the flight and that I was at the gate stated on the monitor, they refused to help me. I was left stranded at an airport that closed its doors at 10:30p and they refused and type of help. I was left alone at a closed airport until 11:30p when I finally find someone to pick me up. I had never flown Viva Aerobus before as I usually fly Volaris. But on a return trip from Monterrey, Viva Aerobus was $10 (US, not pesos) cheaper and I decided to give them a try. Glad I did because my flight was on time and I had no issues. Was no better or worse than Volaris, at least this time. I always pay extra for the front seat, and if memory serves Viva Aerobus charged me 40 pesos less than what I paid on the way out in Volaris. My experiences with Viva Aerobus have been good. The first time I flew Viva Aerobus several years ago (from Chihuahua to Monterrey) I was surprised by how well the plane and service and baggage terms compared to Volaris, Internet, and Aeromexico - at a much lower cost. Viva Aeorbus recently added several new routes and offers special/introductory promotions to get people to choose their airline for them. My cost to fly roundtrip (nonstop) from Tijuana to Los Cabos and back was half of what Volaris and Calafia were charging - and CBX offered no charge to cross the border in either direction to or from Tijuana airport to anyone flying one of Viva Aerobus new routes. Viva Aerobús doesn't just fit within Mexico but also to places like Chicago. And although many of their fights are routed with a stop in Monterrey, they also often have direct flights without any stops. My main reason for choosing any airline over any other one is price especially for nonstop service to wherever I wan to go. Viva Aerobús compares very favorably to its competitors - in almost every way. read more

Worst airline ever. It's the Mexican version of Spirit airlines. Although it's hit and miss. 2/3 flights with them they forced me to pay $44 and check my bag. The guys said it's a weight and balance thing which is BS, I'm in aviation and 6 kilos isn't going to hurt or change anything on these planes.. I know it's BS cause the second time they charged me and then let me bring my bag as a carry on anyway. They just scam you for every dollar they can. Flight time 7pm and expected late like what others said. It's says 8:30 pm but till now 2100 still verifying the correct time of check in. This is horrible no even announcement of being delayed. Worst airline ever!! I had to pay for 3 flights x2 for my girlfriend and each flight was either delayed or canceled for a check-in they didn't do, but of course they charged. I was stuck in the airports for 2 days and the service was poor and rude. They seem they don't know how to their job right. What pissed me off was in Guadalajara's airport where the manager was right behind the clerk and didn't seem to care less but eating candys on her desk. So upsetting and a bad experience. We arrived at check in and even though we were in line an hour and half before our flight we were not allowed to board due to the flight being "closed". No one from the airline clerks announced the flight was closing, even though is airline policy... The clerk ,Salvador, was rude and unprofessional to an unforeseen extent. After having a bad experience with the airline clerks, There was no supervisor at the viva aerobus terminal A site and we had to travel to another terminal to speak to a superior which was very helpful but couldn't do anything to help us board our flight because of the time and all because of the jerk of a clerk! Now we have to spend extra time and money on booking another night at a hotel and having to spend the night worrying about our beloved family dogs who are alone without food all because of the viva aerobus check in clerks! Its emotionally draining having to think our pets are home alone inside without food and water all because we couldn't board the plane because of the clerks! Thanks to this our dogs are having to spend the night without food, water, and bathroom time... I wouldn't recommend anyone flying with this airline... if you have to fly, fly with United, Delta, and/or American Airlines, they know how to treat a customer... read more
