A summer night and a cigar is a combination that feels so right, that it's impossible to resist. Located in one of the Mountain Brook villages, Vitola is a very neat and clean shop, owned by the same folks as the location on 280. The selections were spectacular and the fact that they do care Davidoff Cigars is just the cherry on top. The humidor is vast and the gentleman working here was kind of find the right cigars, but also to recommend some other excellent options. Prices were very reasonable. At the end of the day, if you are spending a summer night without a cigar, you are just wasting a perfect summer night. Vitola is a place to fix that. read more

Well, we moved back to Birmingham, AL. We are 70% unpacked and see some light at the end of the tunnel. Time to find my new cigar shop. When we lived here before, we lived up 280 and frequented "Cigars and More". We live downtown now so, I was looking for a place half the distance. Found it. Also found out it is owned by the same folks that own "Cigars and More". Three TV's, Leather Chairs, WiFI and all levels of cigars you can think of. Hungry, choose one of the restaurants in the same center. I would have given the place five-stars but the parking is a bit tough because of the area and number so nice stores there. Coming from a guy who has been to a lot of cigar shops in a lot of cities, Vitola is an excellent shop, and they have a nice range of offerings. If you're the type who is always searching for the "HTF" (hard to find) cigars, they've often got you covered in that area as well. They almost always have Opus X, Añejos, Casa Fuente offerings, rare Drew Estate cigars like the UF-13 and others from the HTF Liga line, and more. So you don't need to worry about the selection. Charles, the guy who runs the shop most days, is a genuinely nice guy, and he will go out of his way to make sure you get the cigars you're looking for. If you're shopping for a gift for someone else, you can get help with that too. Finally, their smoking lounge is great, with very comfortable furniture and large screen TVs, should you care to watch them. They also have free wifi for customers, and the dim lighting in the room makes it so relaxing that you'll be tempted to grab another cigar and stick around. All in all, this is a fantastic shop, and you can't go wrong here. The prices, selection, and the shop itself (along with the lounge) are all better than other cigar shops in town. I stopped in here while at a conference. First of all, it is close to the botanical garden, which I also recommend. I don't know if you can smoke there, though. That would be nice. But back to the store. It has an excellent selection of mid to high end cigars, including one wrapped in gold leaf for $300 a stick. They have a nice selection of Davidoffs. This is a great place. I moved downtown away from my usual shop and was pleased to find this. The lounge is a good place to relax after work or for a game. So i'm in Birmingham with my dad who is at UAB and after sleeping in the hospital room for 3 days I needed to get out and find a way to relax for a bit. The last time I was out here I used the cigarboss app which had a preferred store. I must say I wasn't impressed. This time I did some research and found this location. I must say I wasn't pleasantly surprised. Upon coming into the location it resembles most cigar shops. Once you get further in, you will see a fantastic lounge off to the left just before you get to the walk in humidor. The lounge has a about 12 leather chairs, that are pretty comfortable, and a big tv mounted on the wall. While I was in the place they had Fox news on. The walk in humidor was what I would describe as medium-sized. I've seen some a lot smaller in size and some larger. The prices are a bit higher at this location but the selection for quality cigars makes up for the price. I picked up a 52x6 liga #9 and it was $14.70 with tax. Since I am from out of town and I didn't bring my herf I am glad I found this place. After sleeping in a hospital room I needed a place to disconnect and this place did it. When I am in Birmingham in the future I will definitely make a stop by and spend an hour or so hanging out in the lounge. It is convenient to the hospital and just off of several interstate roads. So if you are traveling through this would be a nice place to take a break from the road and if you live in the area I hate you because I would love to have a spot like this in the North Atlanta area. read more

For starters, there are three or four main cigar stores within the Birmingham city limits. The first is on Green Springs (Dee's Package Store). This location totally mistreats their cigars and only have dry cigars. Crestline has another store and neatly decorated, but always out of stock. These guys don't seem to care about filling up, so I now avoid them. Vitola Fine Cigars howevers, is always clean, in stock and they have a gorgeous lounge with big TV's for the public. The only thing they ask is that you're a uying patron if you're going to watch their TV's (understandable). The cashier (owner I believe) is a bit serious the first time you meet him, however he is very knowledgeable about his products. He didn't warm up to me until I came back the 2nd time. Oddly enough he remembered me. In all, I'd say they have a great selection of world cigars with many accessories to you can add t your smoke. I hope you all enjoy this store like I have. read more

I was with a gal-pal of mine who wanted to go shopping at Brookwood Village Mall in Birmingham. "Okay," I said. "I'll take you. But if we're going on a road trip, I want to find a new cigar shop somewhere during our journey!" In the Brookwood parking lot, I pulled up the "Local" app on my phone, and, amazingly, there appeared to be a cigar shop just a few blocks away. So off we headed. Located almost next-door to one of my all-time favorite pizza places, Vitola had only been open for a few weeks, so it was indeed "new." I was also glad to have found a perfect little cigar haven right next to another place I already knew and enjoyed. The staff at Vitola is friendly, the ambiance is relaxing and welcoming, and the cigar selection is very good--not to mention that, unlike several cigar lounges I've visited, Vitola understands the importance of proper humidification. So the smokes are fresh, light up right and burn well, and taste great. A fabulous find, Vitola is now one of my favorite cigar lounges! read more

I went into the shop just looking for a cigar. I had a $20 budget I needed to stick to, and had no clue what I should look for. I told the gentleman working I wanted a good, 1 1/2-2 hour smoke, with bold flavor but at or under $20. He pointed me to the montecristo epic, and it was aptly named. He recommended his favorite type of cut for the end of the cigar, and I obliged. Everything about the experience was great. The shop smells great, is very clean, and has a great selection. The smoking room has 3 big screen tvs to watch whatever it is you want to watch, and the gentleman even allowed me to choose the programming of my choice. The service was great and the atmosphere is wonderful. I would have like a little more follow up from the employee to allow me to choose the next one I should try based on my experience with the epic, but I will be back and we can chat more. That's keeping me from 5 stars, but this place is awesome. Highly recommend. read more
