My girlfriend and I stopped into this little cafe for a quick bite for lunch while we were looking for the Royal Palace in downtown Paris. We were very happy with our lunch, the prices, and the atmosphere. The owner, Beatrice, makes all the food herself and mans the counter as well. She has a great looking assortment of food on display in the glass case at the front of the store. We were cold, since we were walking around Paris during late December, so we went with the soup. I'm not sure exactly what kind of soup it was, but it was delicious, served in a generous bowl, and went great with the slices of pizza we had to go with it. Beatrice was a pleasure to talk. This is definitely not the typical tourist trap! Rue de Richelieu near the Biblotheque Nationale is a pretty quiet street. The prices were reasonable as well. We were very glad we stopped in. There's an upstairs dinning room with a nice view of the street and a great mural on the wall. It was unoccupied the day we stopped in, so there's plenty of room for a larger group. read more
