The other conundrum was missing the location. I got out of work early and was very much intent on visiting so I drove very slowly looking for it and I still missed it. So watch carefully and put your turn signal on early. I'm so glad that I finally made it here. The amount of beautifully crafted fine art on display astounds me. There are so many pieces in here but it does not feel overwhelming or cluttered in this multi-level gallery. The art is varied, so many different mediums and subject matters. The art is stunning, beautifully curated; I'm in awe of the skill of these amazing artists and disappointed that I haven't come sooner. What did I miss on display 6 months ago? A year ago? After an inquiry, the lovely lady at the front desk informs me that the items on display partially turn over about every three months, and after 6 months pretty much everything is new. I'm really excited to see what will be here later this year. I appreciate Deborah taking the time to chat with me twice, upstairs she gave me a little background on an artist whose work I was admiring (Jordan) and downstairs chatting about my background and my desire to be more creative and do more art. If you are an appreciator of fine art come in and peruse. If you are looking for a beautiful piece for your home, office or for a gift come prepared to buy. Pieces most liked from visit#1: Turtle Sea, Finnesse, and this lost wax cast bronze woman/angel on a rotating base (she's on display twice because she can be cast with or without wings).

The space is intimate but thoughtful, and the curation feels fresh and intentional. Andrew (who worked there) was excellent -- welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the work on display. Definitely a nice surprise and well worth a stop if you're in the area.

They had a section to draw and to read. I love the idea that they have children's and adult classes I'd love to attend one. The museum was also free to Va residents! I wasn't planning on really buying it, but as soon as I picked it up, I knew I had to bring it home. I strolled through the store and found Picasso and Miro lithos (I mean, wow!) and spoke with the owner, Brian, who is probably the most affable gentleman in all of Virginia Beach. He told me he knew very little information about the statue, but I paid the full price, since it was quite affordable to me. At the counter, we also met a repeat client of his, a quintessential southern lady with pearls who regaled us with delightful, and rather bawdy stories. I know my timing was right, but I found the gallery intriguing, well lit and stocked with gorgeous paintings. I'll be back next year.

I like that the front part has local artists on display and the exhibits change from time to time with regards to theme. In the back, there are more featured artists and workstations where they come from time to time and work. I met a few of them who were friendly and welcoming and happy to answer questions and discuss their art and inspirations. The volunteers working inside were super friendly and the art on display is almost all for sale. I saw several things I wanted to purchase and ended up leaving with a small pottery piece to start my collection. Prices are reasonable as well and I love supporting local art.

Some of it is not necessarily my style, but it is nice. I saw a really cute outdoor ceramic water fountain in there today that looked like a large planter with a frog on top and the water circulating through and opening on one side. Wanted it.

In the 90's it was located in a small shopping center near Lynnhaven Mall. Since my business had been located very close, I decided to give them a try with some of my precious memories. Year after year I returned numerous times to have the business beautifully frame & mat precious photos & playbills from my son's acting career. My Music Room walls are filled with them. They made old family pictures into beautiful works of art. The store was filled with frame choices. Knowledgeable employees would work with you on the best choices for frames & mats. The finished products were always gorgeous. It was sad when they disappeared from the Lynnhaven area location, I assumed the store had closed. So no framing for me has been done in the years since. Upon locating the store in Lynnhaven Convenience Center, I was anxious to see if the framing stock would be as extensive. It turned out to be more so. And there was a larger supply of other decorative accents & framed prints available for purchase. One of my theater memories that they had framed decades ago had been knocked off the wall & the glass had been broken. It was from a production my son had been featured in with Virginia Stage Company about 30 years ago. I had continued to postpone getting the glass replaced since I had not developed trust in another store. How excited I was to take it into Frame 'N' Art for repair. I had hoped to pick it up today but learned upon arrival that they close on Monday. The location of the shopping center is the north side of Virginia Beach Boulevard just west of its intersection with Lynnhaven Parkway. If coming from the east turn into the first, rather than the main entrance. There is plenty of parking. This store gets my highest recommendation. They do beautiful work.
