Farmington Hills Manor - The $34 vegetarian plate. When I showed the owner this he said that is what they serve and shrugged.

Although the facility was beautiful and spacious, the staff were less than friendly and the portions for the amount charged were terrible. Our youth attendees received chicken tenders and fries, it was 2 tenders and a handful of fries, approximately 10-12 fries. Our adults received a small chicken cutlet, half of a potato sliced, and for vegetables 5 string beans and two baby carrots. The vegetarian plate was one potato's quartered and a handful of veggies. To my dismay, when the owner was told about the dissatisfaction with the portion sizes, he was extremely rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. I would not recommend doing business with Farmington Hills Manor.

They insisted on a plated meal and at first you think wow - fancy and convenient! But they really do that to control the portions because they do not cook the food in house - it is outsourced from another vendor which I realized on the day of our event. The portions were offensive - adult plates that we charged our guests $40 for came with a small piece of chicken, 1 piece of potato cut in half, and literally 4-5 pieces of green beans and carrots. We were stunned! The kids plates - which we charged $25 for - had a meager 2 chicken tenders and 10-12 French fries. It was so few we counted them! Our vegetarian requests that we gave in advance? They simply took the chicken off the plate and served the handful of vegetables and they upped the potatoes to 4. After the event I talked to the owner to voice our dissatisfaction and the charm did a sharp turn to rude and condescending. I asked for compensation for the vegetarian dishes - he said sure I'll pack you up some veggies (as he showed me a Sams club value size of frozen mixed veggies). There were other events I had planned on booking with him - this could have been a fruitful relationship but after his response to my complaint - I told him to erase my January booking and we would not be back and he did not care. He was extremely dismissive. Other than the food - the venue was clean, nice, and the staff were friendly. Photo below of the vegetarian dish!

From Retro Bliss to Corporate Miss - 1Up's New Management Hits Rock Bottom…read more.. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. 1Up Arcade Bar, once my go-to haven for arcade nostalgia and friendly vibes, has devolved into a shell of its former self. Under the new management, the experience has gone from retro joy to something resembling a garish corporate money pit. If you're looking to relive the good old days of arcade glory, consider this your neon-lit warning sign to stay far, far away. First off, the bartenders. Remember last year when 1Up's bartenders were warm, cheerful, and chatty, making you feel like you were part of the family? Well, those days are deader than my high score on Pac-Man. The new bartenders treat you with the exact enthusiasm you'd expect from someone waiting at the DMV. Ordering a drink here feels like you've personally interrupted their day--and heaven forbid you ask any questions about the menu. Smiles? Gone. Friendly banter? Vanished. You're left standing there with your overpriced, uninspired drink wondering if you've wandered into a soulless high-end cocktail bar by mistake. Ah, the drinks. Once playful and creative masterpieces that added to 1Up's charm, they've been replaced with pretentious, unimaginative concoctions that scream, "We're fancy now; please empty your wallet." No fun, no spirit (pun intended), just overpriced disappointments. At their current price point, I half expected the drink to come with complimentary resentment from the staff. And don't get me started on the arcade machines. Gone are the iconic retro classics that made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of arcades. Instead, the place is now stuffed with bright, flashy, wallet-draining horrors you'd find at a Dave and Buster's. What happened to the charm? The authenticity? Now it's just a playground for toddlers with no attention spans and those who value flashing lights over actual gameplay. Speaking of, if you're a Gen Z-er armed with your parents' credit card and an inability to go three seconds without dopamine overload, this place might actually be a dream come true for you. The rest of us? Not so much. Look, 1Up Arcade Bar used to be a gem, but now it feels like a soulless cash grab. Don't come here hoping for a genuine arcade bar experience because you'll leave disappointed--and poorer. Save your time, save your money, and spare yourself the heartbreak of seeing what this place has become. RIP, old 1Up. You are sorely missed.

From the very first meeting, Sam made us feel comfortable and confident. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, and there were moments when we had doubts or felt stressed but Sam was always there to reassure us, answer every question with patience, and guide us through each step. The venue itself is breathtaking. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere that wowed our guests. The layout worked beautifully for both the ceremony and reception, and the attention to detail in décor and setup was beyond anything we imagined. What truly sets this place apart is the level of care and dedication Sam brings. Sam didn't just manage logistics; Sam genuinely cared about making our day special. Whether it was helping us finalize last-minute details, offering creative suggestions, or simply checking in to make sure we felt at ease, Sam went above and beyond. We never felt like "just another couple"; we felt valued and supported every step of the way. Our wedding would not have been what it was without Sam and this venue. If you're looking for a place that combines stunning beauty with exceptional service, look no further. We cannot recommend this venue and Sam highly enough.
