There are a number of similar stores that are run by people from other countries (non-native Italians), and sell merchandise of questionable quality. However this particular establishment has great quality leather goods such as the beautiful backpack purse I bought. The zippers are heavy duty and there's double stitching around the seams to ensure that the backpack is durable. I would recommend this establishment for any leather products.

The saleswoman (don't know her name) was EXCELLENT! She really was a pro - she provided great recommendations for what fit my face, the best colors for my skin tone, etc., almost instantly from looking at me! Could not recommend this store more! And the frames (made in Italy, of course) were SO much less expensive than back in the U.S.!

My friend…read moreleft her glasses on the plane, and didn't think getting a new pair would be easily available or affordable. The lovely woman at Guidoreni got her fixed up with a pair of readers - offering several for testing - in less than five minutes, for a price of €25! There were several styles to choose from, so my friend left feeling much better that she'd be able to actually read over the next two weeks, and also that she'd found something with a bit of style! This is a chain with many locations throughout Florence, and I can't speak to the service overall. But this location, right by the duomo, was friendly, fast, and efficient... even spoke enough English to make up for our limited Italian! Highly recommended!

After what seemed like 10 minutes, she even apologized. Prices are about the same back home but there was a silly $25 Euro per lens fitting fee. At least she gave me another gorgeous shammy to clean my glasses; smart how it lists all of their locations, another great marketing piece.

This very large shop is also a laboratory with a very professional staff ready to help you when you need to repair, make changes, replace stuff. They do have an incredible amount of different glasses to pick from and I like the fact that, even if everything is very artisanal and unique, prices are restrained. They also offer vintage pieces, gold pieces, tailor made pieces (of course) and leather. Today we were on the hunt for new sunglasses for my mom so I asked for the owner, who always does a great job choosing ones that fit. Not only did he know a very good deal about cameras and camera lenses but he was also very excited to show them and tell us all about them. Some items in his precious collection are not for sale, but he has many unique items for sale. By "us" i mean mostly my photographer boyfriend who is a proud owner of an ever growing never-ending camera lens collection. Francesco was very happy assisting us with the fd to eos mounts. He even called his distributor to see if they had the mount we needed. He will be happy to order pieces you need if he doesnt have them in stock. We have gone to a couple of stores like these with no luck... This inventory is surprisingly large! We are definitely coming back here once Mr. photographer makes up his mind which (or how many) lenses he wants - or rather, needs :)
