Those days of free admission are long gone, costs have increased, and there is now a Jelly Belly Museum to enjoy. While one visit was more than enough to satisfy my own curiosities, I have since had my own little monster whom at one point was overly in love with these tiny fruity beans. What better way to walk down memory lane than seeing it through the eyes of my very own 6yo?? TOUR ADMISSION PRICES: Adults (Ages 18+): $8 Children (Ages 3-17): $4 Children (Ages 2 and under): Free The tour is self guided, allowing you to go at your own pace in learning about the process of making the jelly beans. FUN FACT: DID YOU KNOW IT TAKES 7-14 DAYS TO MAKE A JELLY BELLY JELLY BEANS?? Now, before you get started, there are a few rules that visitors must abide by. 1) Keep your jelly belly hat on at ALL TIMES. I kid you not, the staff will stop and remind you to put it on. 2) Avoid eating and drinking during the tour. 3) Avoid any flash photography. I'm sure this specific rule applies more to the candy actually being in production. My visits have only occurred on the weekends and Jelly Belly only actively produces during the weekday during early hours. Yep, I've never had the pleasure of seeing anything made firsthand but I guess Food Network's UNWRAPPED will have to do... 5/5 Stars because my toddler had the most amazing time. Lunch was extra memorable & cutesy due to the jelly bean shaped foods. Way to stick with the theme!!

Since I've now been there numerous…read moretimes, I skip the tour and cafe, but I always always go to the store, especially the room of discounted items, like new flavors they're trying out that aren't in the branding bags yet or seasonal products. It's sooo worth it to get a bag of my favorite jelly beans for $2.00 or sometimes a specialty item for even $0.50! So fun. I've discovered some new favorites this way. FYI: They are currently remodeling the discount room, which is located on the side where the cafe is, but it is temporarily behind the stairs on the side of the store. Look out for it because it is worth it! There are also little "train rides" in the parking lot, but the schedule is sporadic. The jelly bean art work is still really cool to look at each time I'm there. They sometimes rotate what they display, which is cool. Currently they have Harry Potter jelly beans artwork displayed in the entryway. They've also gotten rid of the free taste tests, which used to be right when you enter. Bummer. That was really fun to taste the bamboozle flavors, like stinky feet or vomit. Haha

We also paid $4 each to do the ice cream making at 11:00 a.m. My only real complaint about the whole thing is that the kids weren't able to see what ingredients were in their can before they started the shaking process. The staff led them through all these different shaking exercises, and then they got to open their cans at the end and see some ice cream. But it really didn't mean anything to them because they had no idea what was in there in the beginning! I said something about it to the staff, just asking them why they didn't have the kids look in it at the beginning, and they said it's because they usually do field trips with hundreds of kids..... But our tour was just around 10 people! If I could do it all over, I would have had my kids unscrew the lids to see what was inside. But besides that little pet peeve, I appreciated the staff giving information and a little tour of the exhibits, and the movie is also included at the beginning of the event.

Yes, it's good. you've probably had it, but never knew it. they sell their cheese in bulk to food service providers, restaurants, and other retail brands that package and sell the cheese under their own names It's a great place. Everything from souvenirs, to snacks, wines, jams, Peet's coffee, they have a small café, and of course, cheese, cheese, and even more cheese. They do offer tours, but they are limited. However, you can ask somebody from the register, to come over and turn on the "Moo-vie." hosted by a cartoon cow, it covers the cheese, making process from farm, forward. Yes, it's a little "cheesy", (pun intended) but it's cute, and it's interesting. There are pictures throughout the visitor center, and they also have a small area upstairs, that also talks about the cheese making process, and you can look down into the factory. As I mentioned, there are lots of cheeses for sale. They also have samples. They have "squeakers" which is what they call their cheese, curds, many different varieties of their cheeses, and other gourmet cheeses from other companies. I bought a small apple, walnut, smoked cheddar, which was very flavorful, and then I also decided to take a gamble, and got a 1 pound block of Hilmar habanero pepper jack cheese. The 1 pound block of cheese cost under seven bucks. Extremely reasonable for such a good quality cheese. Yes, it definitely packs a punch, (hey, it's habanero....) but the creaminess of the cheese helps, mellow out the habanero a bit. You can also cook with it, like a cheeseburger, or scrambled eggs, etc.... And that also helps mellow out the habanero. it is definitely toward the higher end of what I like for in spicy, but it is definitely good. At the café, they actually sell a cheese chowder, which is supposed to be excellent. I don't think my poor system could've handled it, so instead, I got one of their grilled cheese sandwiches, the zesty tomato, which was Monterey Jack, sun-dried, tomato, tomato, basil pesto, on sourdough bread. Yes, still rich, but the tomato help helped cut the richness. The only reason I'm taking off a half star, was because the bread was a bit overdone on the sandwich. Not enough that I had them redo it, but I could definitely taste it a little bit. The amazing taste of the sandwich. Helped take away the overdone taste of the bread. An older white male employee immediately turned around and began watching the security cameras. We were the only customers in the store, yet he did not ask if we need any help or assistance. As a black customer, the situation felt unsettling. We came in with no bags and were simply browsing, but the atmosphere made us feel unwelcome and watched. When we decided to leave, the employee still did not acknowledge us or say anything. The entire interaction felt odd and uninviting, and we left feeling as though we were not wanted there because of our race. I hope management addresses customer service and ensures that all guests are treated with respect and courtesy.

Visit to Taylor Creek in October…read more Taylor Creek is a family-friendly stroll through nature! The creek and lake are easy to access, with an almost entirely flat trail that's great for all ages. Lots of beaver dens, pretty fall trees, and other wildlife to enjoy along the way. The park rangers are super knowledgeable and happy to chat about the trails and animals that call this place home. Definitely worth a visit! Side note:You might come expecting to see the salmon run, but nature doesn't always run on our schedule!

The trail is mostly flat and well-maintained, making it totally stroller-friendly and perfect for families with little ones. We arrived around 10:30 AM and finished by 11:30 AM, so it's a nice, short hike that doesn't take up your whole day. Parking was easy, with plenty of spots available. We visited in July (summer), and the mosquitoes were intense, especially near the swampy areas definitely wear mosquito repellent. Also worth noting: the swamp area has a strong smell, so if you're sensitive to odors, that's something to be aware of. We'd recommend avoiding lingering near the water. Overall, a great, low-effort trail for families or anyone looking for a relaxed walk just come prepared for bugs and smells in the summer.

Most of the selection was about mid to high level quality with reasonable pricing, and they had quite a few fun maps and other large-scale decorations as part of the welcome center which were fun to see. All in all, the service was friendly and it was nice to walk around in, so if you're visiting the area I'd definitely drop in.

The employees at this Auburn Visitor Center and the volunteers at this Visitor Center are very knowledgable not only of Auburn, but also other towns of Placer County. There are Visitor Guides of different towns of California. Go by districts, so as example, Bay Area, Monterey area, San Joaquin County, Southern California. One time two of them telling me stories of the Women Prison at the museum at Historic Court House. It is actually outside the Court House, if one looks, there was small area for the bed, the sink, and the toilet. Very first time I ever visited Auburn, asked of Forgotten Soldier Program Park. Wow, it is walkable of this Auburn Visitor Center. Now this to me strange. There also Placer County Visitor Center. I am fourth person for that. What is strange it is exact address, same directions, same telephone number.
