She was sure to confirm what kinds of wine we liked, what kind of places we were into (large scale winery grounds vs more intimate tasting rooms), proximity of wineries to each other so that we didn't spend our whole time traveling from one to another, and could maximize our actual tasting time. It was amazing to see things in operation, especially the robots and the rainbow of colors. I would go back as an adult alone to be able to read more at the stations and take in the whole process. It would be a lot different experience when the factory is not in production. Staff were friendly. The cost of $8 for adults and $4 for kids is not unreasonable. Make sure you look for the cheaper priced candy by the cafe. Some of the regular priced stuff is pricey - like a $7.95 for a relatively small bag of orange flavored assorted beans. Cafe food was good - kids chicken strips and a delicious Asian chicken salad. Prices were not cheap but ok for the quality of food. The short train ride across the parking lot from the factory to the museum is sufficient for the young and young at heart. Museum is more geared to adults covering the history of the companies and candy production equipment.

Getting there was easy (45 mins from the east bay), parking was free, entrance was cheap, and timings were flexible as we chose not to handcuff our schedule to the guided factory tour timings. PRO TIP: We paid way more for jelly beans at the gift store on our way out than we should have. There's a factory store near the cafe which will save you a lot of money if you're not too picky about flavor combinations. You can save EVEN MORE MONEY by buying boxes of jelly beans or older flavors from the Jelly Belly museum across the parking lot. Happy to return!

The staff led them through all these different shaking exercises, and then they got to open their cans at the end and see some ice cream. But it really didn't mean anything to them because they had no idea what was in there in the beginning! I said something about it to the staff, just asking them why they didn't have the kids look in it at the beginning, and they said it's because they usually do field trips with hundreds of kids..... But our tour was just around 10 people! If I could do it all over, I would have had my kids unscrew the lids to see what was inside. But besides that little pet peeve, I appreciated the staff giving information and a little tour of the exhibits, and the movie is also included at the beginning of the event.

An older white male employee immediately turned around and began watching the security cameras. We were the only customers in the store, yet he did not ask if we need any help or assistance. As a black customer, the situation felt unsettling. We came in with no bags and were simply browsing, but the atmosphere made us feel unwelcome and watched. When we decided to leave, the employee still did not acknowledge us or say anything. The entire interaction felt odd and uninviting, and we left feeling as though we were not wanted there because of our race. I hope management addresses customer service and ensures that all guests are treated with respect and courtesy.

Other side is an Apple Store where you can purchase products, test things out, and sometimes they hold classes and workshops in the open concept space. They have additional items you might not find in the average Apple Store. They seem fairly priced for branded items not found normally. This location is free to visit with free parking. Pro tip: there's a garage downstairs with even more parking. This is one of the spots I always take visitors to the Bay Area to!

We hiked Taylor Creek Trail with our two kids and a stroller, and it was a great, very easy walk…read moreoverall. The trail is mostly flat and well-maintained, making it totally stroller-friendly and perfect for families with little ones. We arrived around 10:30 AM and finished by 11:30 AM, so it's a nice, short hike that doesn't take up your whole day. Parking was easy, with plenty of spots available. We visited in July (summer), and the mosquitoes were intense, especially near the swampy areas definitely wear mosquito repellent. Also worth noting: the swamp area has a strong smell, so if you're sensitive to odors, that's something to be aware of. We'd recommend avoiding lingering near the water. Overall, a great, low-effort trail for families or anyone looking for a relaxed walk just come prepared for bugs and smells in the summer.

They also have pamphlets and maps, as well as knowledgeable local guides to help you plan your visit. They also had nice restrooms, which were appreciated on a driving trip. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. I bought a few small items, but the best thing were the wine bottle shippers that came in handy when packing for home. Every bottle survived. It's worth it to stop in if you're visiting the area, especially your first time.

The employees at this Auburn Visitor Center and the volunteers at this Visitor Center are very knowledgable not only of Auburn, but also other towns of Placer County. There are Visitor Guides of different towns of California. Go by districts, so as example, Bay Area, Monterey area, San Joaquin County, Southern California. One time two of them telling me stories of the Women Prison at the museum at Historic Court House. It is actually outside the Court House, if one looks, there was small area for the bed, the sink, and the toilet. Very first time I ever visited Auburn, asked of Forgotten Soldier Program Park. Wow, it is walkable of this Auburn Visitor Center. Now this to me strange. There also Placer County Visitor Center. I am fourth person for that. What is strange it is exact address, same directions, same telephone number.

The nature…read morecenter is a small quaint walk through where you can learn about some of the insects and animals and then you head out to the trails. The trails are nice medium length distances for our kiddos. We walked alongside the American River, skipped rocks and stopped for a quick snack (we brought). If you are lucky enough you will come across birds, deers and even a coyote on your walk through the trails. Very fun experience for the family would recommend.
