Really fun visit and tour with our granddaughter. The adults enjoyed it also, but be aware that the…read morenoise level when the factory is running might be a little too much for youngsters without hearing protection. It was amazing to see things in operation, especially the robots and the rainbow of colors. I would go back as an adult alone to be able to read more at the stations and take in the whole process. It would be a lot different experience when the factory is not in production. Staff were friendly. The cost of $8 for adults and $4 for kids is not unreasonable. Make sure you look for the cheaper priced candy by the cafe. Some of the regular priced stuff is pricey - like a $7.95 for a relatively small bag of orange flavored assorted beans. Cafe food was good - kids chicken strips and a delicious Asian chicken salad. Prices were not cheap but ok for the quality of food. The short train ride across the parking lot from the factory to the museum is sufficient for the young and young at heart. Museum is more geared to adults covering the history of the companies and candy production equipment.

Must-do Family Outing! We finally went over spring break earlier this month…read more The art work blew us away, the belly flops made us laugh, the factory tour was eye-opening, and riding the train was a ton of fun! Getting there was easy (45 mins from the east bay), parking was free, entrance was cheap, and timings were flexible as we chose not to handcuff our schedule to the guided factory tour timings. PRO TIP: We paid way more for jelly beans at the gift store on our way out than we should have. There's a factory store near the cafe which will save you a lot of money if you're not too picky about flavor combinations. You can save EVEN MORE MONEY by buying boxes of jelly beans or older flavors from the Jelly Belly museum across the parking lot. Happy to return!

This was definitely a fun stop on our road trip! The first floor is the shop, where you can sample…read morea few cheeses or get something like cheese pie at the cafe. But definitely go upstairs, especially if you have kids, to look at the exhibits on dairy farms. We honestly would have missed the stairs if we didn't ask somebody how to get to the exhibits. It's not obvious! There's also a little movie about cheese making that you can ask the staff members to start for you. We also paid $4 each to do the ice cream making at 11:00 a.m. My only real complaint about the whole thing is that the kids weren't able to see what ingredients were in their can before they started the shaking process. The staff led them through all these different shaking exercises, and then they got to open their cans at the end and see some ice cream. But it really didn't mean anything to them because they had no idea what was in there in the beginning! I said something about it to the staff, just asking them why they didn't have the kids look in it at the beginning, and they said it's because they usually do field trips with hundreds of kids..... But our tour was just around 10 people! If I could do it all over, I would have had my kids unscrew the lids to see what was inside. But besides that little pet peeve, I appreciated the staff giving information and a little tour of the exhibits, and the movie is also included at the beginning of the event.

Very cute center! A lot of things to see and do. Ordered a warm sandwich , piglet pretzel sandwich…read more It was good, everything was fast. You can tell it was homemade. It's a cute place to visit

It's…read morethe perfect amount of distraction and people watching when I need to decompress between tasks and context switch. When the clouds look threatening, this is my go to spot since the upstairs area isn't fully covered from the elements. So there won't be too many people sitting and staying other than the occasional tourist taking a selfie with the view. And there's a coffee bar downstairs! I got a dry cappuccino, extra hot. I don't believe they charge for alt milk so love that. I heard they will do Apple art in the foam but I didn't get it this time, so I'll have to come back again. There's a lot of people downstairs since it's the most accessible so staff was pretty busy with back to back orders. They kept the coffee bar area clean and orderly. Other side is an Apple Store where you can purchase products, test things out, and sometimes they hold classes and workshops in the open concept space. They have additional items you might not find in the average Apple Store. They seem fairly priced for branded items not found normally. This location is free to visit with free parking. Pro tip: there's a garage downstairs with even more parking. This is one of the spots I always take visitors to the Bay Area to!

How do you become a regular at a welcome center? Well she took me for the first time. Good size and clean. HUGE unisex restroom. Plenty of souvenirs to buy. Lots of history to study. Atmosphere - See pictures and read above. Service - So welcoming. Gave me a pamphlet for the local wineries and breweries. This might be my new "Livermore?!?!" Price - Free. Well, it depends if you buy souvenirs. Owner Comment - Thank you for such a welcoming center, pun intended.

The employees at this Auburn Visitor Center and the volunteers at this Visitor Center are very knowledgable not only of Auburn, but also other towns of Placer County. There are Visitor Guides of different towns of California. Go by districts, so as example, Bay Area, Monterey area, San Joaquin County, Southern California. One time two of them telling me stories of the Women Prison at the museum at Historic Court House. It is actually outside the Court House, if one looks, there was small area for the bed, the sink, and the toilet. Very first time I ever visited Auburn, asked of Forgotten Soldier Program Park. Wow, it is walkable of this Auburn Visitor Center. Now this to me strange. There also Placer County Visitor Center. I am fourth person for that. What is strange it is exact address, same directions, same telephone number.
