Inexpensive? Nope. Really nice staff with great and caring customer service? Yes, definitely…read more I bought a gorgeous and pricy pair of glasses here a couple of years ago and they've taken care of me ever since. £25 for my eye exam, £90 for my lenses (my vision is quite poor).... not gonna tell you how much I spent on my frames... but all taken care of promptly and with a smile. They even helped me no problem when I wanted to order my contacts in the US (they had to send my prescription) rather than through them because it was cheaper. When I broke said expensive frames (that colour was sadly discontinued), they offered to order two pairs of the same frames in different colours so I could try them out. Sure, you can get inexpensive glasses elsewhere, but this is a small, privately owned optometrist that will really take care of your vision... stylishly!

Recently I've upgraded to some new Japanese made lenses which are remarkably crisp and better for reading than my previous lenses. The test equipment is very modern and you can now look at your retina on the Apple display if so inclined. I don't change my glasses very often, but I take the tube here whenever I do or for a routine eye test. Islington is a nice part of town so pop down and have a coffee near the canal next time you visit.

With a warm…read morefriendly welcome, I was able to get great information and advice on the spot without an appointment or being asked to come back. I didn't feel like I was being rushed and time and patience was given. Came back, following such a pleasant first experience, to have my eyes tested. This again was done on the spot (although you can, of course make appointments) with a through examination and questioning about my sight. Any 'silly' questions I had were answered. Optician was friendly and able to break down any clinical terms in layman's to be fully understood. Advice given but not pushed on you and felt no obligation to purchase anything further. Whilst they may not have your usual high street designer frames, they have a good selection of designer frames to select from. Of course, they are also happy to put their lenses in frames you may have already. Having gone through a comprehensive review of my eyesight I got a couple of new pairs of prescription glasses. I feel like I am living in a HD world now in comparison to what I had before. Thank you!

Lucky for us, CrossEyes has Saturday hours and I was able to drop by without an appointment. We received fantastic service from Panos, the owner, and Astrid. They were friendly and helpful and repaired the glasses in less than 3 minutes. My son's vision is 20/100 without glasses, so they saved our vacation by basically restoring his sight! I highly recommend this shop for their skill and willingness to accommodate.

She was tough, an Unexlerience surgeon, she harm me, they told me, it is normal. "Is not", I know my body reaction to operations. And I never had this in the first operation. The first was very good. No pain, not read eye. Of course, they use better doctors for the good eye. And for the lazy eye, it seems the train people in this kind of operations, they used unexperience surgeons, they do not care!. The visiion of the new operated eye, is the same or worst than before. They did not put a good prescription lens either, What is the use of the second operation then? To make money out of my eye?. Why they did not listen, When I ask for the same surgeon?. They do not listen to patiens anymore, and not all the doctors are good there!. Also, bad communication, they never contacted my wife on the phone just promised several times and we had to contact them for any updates about recieving lenses and frame! Bad organised place, poor management! They left my wife suffering without glasses until the frame arrives in the store (today is day 5 no calls from them, yet)! It seams that they don't care about old frames and purposely broke them to make you buy new frames! Not very genuine merchant?

Ok, there is more. They don't really get into the selling style, and they are the largest eyespecialists I've seen in Central London. Its almost like a glass house. From the light weight titanium frames to the plastic stuff, they are very updated in their business. I've seen them with the other customers thats how I know a bit. Always turning things around the store just like we do at home, these services have designed a unique customer service. The cafe Apostrophe is a practical place to wait while your glasses are getting ready or you can indulge in some unique fashion shopping at Heaven & Earth. Its unusual but works.

That said, you will look good and be able to see yourself in the mirror after. Firstly Jonathan, the owner is, to say the least, eccentric. You will hear his life story with a wonderful smile and at the end he will recommend frames for you that are just perfect. He seems to have a total handle on style and knows whats in and out. You cannot go wrong with him. The experience with the testing was also wonderful. The optician (whose name I've sadly forgotten) spent over an hour testing my eyes and noted a decade long error in my prescription all while my partner was engaged in a (very long) conversation with Jonathan. I ended up buying two pairs of glasses with high index lenses for around £1000 and three month's supply of 'toric' contact lenses. I been using them ever since and people have (for the first time ever) noticed how good they looked! This place has my full and hearty recommendation!

We believe he is the owner and an optician at the shop. Jonathan looked at my husband for a moment and he instantaneously presented him with choices of glasses that best suits him. Jonathan was like a magician getting out surprises from his magic box. He is also very knowledgeable about new trend for eye wear and what look you want to project. He was really helpful and attentive to all our questions and concerns. However If you are the type of person who wants to be just left alone while shopping around for glasses, then you might find him abrassive. As for our experience, it was lovely and we definitely recommend him.
