The salon is SO clean and modern- but not a "we're trying too hard" modern. Just very relaxed. Staff is amazingly friendly- from the front desk girl who never stops smiling to the girl washing your hair. And they all work together really well. I had Rito as a stylist- I asked for a senior since I was nervous. For once in my life, I got the hair cut I asked for. He didn't try to sway my opinion, or do his own thing. He gave me exactly what I wanted. I've been to places before that have given good haircuts, but not what I intended. He did just that. And so honest the entire time about my hair. Was told they always email and text confirmations but I never received either. Was told the person I made the appointment with is no longer accepting new clients. Not sure why I was able to do so on the website then. While asking questions on the phone and explaining my situation , the woman kept talking over me and telling me I was being rude. In fact, she was being rude and impatient while repeatedly telling she was helping me. Talking over me and calling me rude is not helping me. She was mad simply because I was asking questions about the new person she was scheduling me to see. As a potential new client she should be kind and patient. Left a bad taste in my mouth and does not make me want to keep my appointment. I'm a physician and know how to interact with the general public. I handle rude patients on a daily basis with grace and kindness. I was definitely not being rude. She needs to be trained. Let's hope the stylist is nicer than the front desk employee

What impressed me most was the stylist they booked my appointment with. Helene Pagan had to put up with me because I decided to go from hair that was past my elbows to EXTREMELY short. I was solo nervous! I was over the "long hair" thing and wanted something new. Honestly, what I love about Helene is her ability to listen AND please!! I went to Joleen at Bruno's. My hair is dark and I wanted subtle highlights that werent too light, which is how they usually turn out. On my first visit, Joleen and Bruno both worked on my hair and my highlights have never looked better. They are perfect. Joleen also cut my hair- she knows what looks good and is trendy, while sticking to your personal style. She is super friendly and remembers you every time you visit. If you have super dark hair and have a hard time finding someone to do your highlights just right, go to Joleen. I have searched DC and NYC, and she is still the best.

I personally did not have my hair done here but a good friend of mines did, unfortunately. I felt the need to come on here and tell my friends story. My friend had beautiful, thick, bouncy, curly hair. When I say curly, I mean CURLY! Curls that girls would die for and boys will drool over. From the first day I meant her I had to compliment her on her gorgeous hair. Well fast forward to her visit at this salon. It was her birthday and she wanted to treat herself by getting her hair colored, she wanted a change. She arrived at the salon with dark black hair and showed the stylist a picture of how she wanted her hair colored. The stylist promised her that she can achieve the look, well that was a huge lie! My friend was in that salon for over 7+hrs and was the only one in the salon from the time she walked in until she left. No other clients! Unacceptable! I could understand if she had other clients but NOPE. The stylist was constantly on her phone with her mother (mother is the owner of the salon) and her boyfriend. Gossiping about other people and what's so crazy is that she was gossiping about the person that referred my friend to her. Her loyal client! SMDH! But after all that time in the salon by friend left there sad and embarrassed about how her hair looked. She called me crying and upset. The stylist knew it was real bad because she even offered my friend to come back a couple days later to FIX IT! What! Do your job correctly the first time (because you are a "licensed"beautician) so there's no need to come back to fix it. I've never heard of that. Why would someone come back after you've just destroyed my hair, especially after spending hours and hours in the salon the first time. That's a NO! That's a lost client! Running and never looking back. I saw my friend the next day and my heart broke for her. To see that much damage to someone who had such gorgeous hair was very upsetting and it's not even my hair! Weeks later my friends hair still has no life to it. Her hair doesn't curl like it used to, curl pattern is ruined, it's dry, thin and she had no choice but to chop her hair off. It's really sad that you put your trust into someone who supposedly went to beautician school and should know how to do their job just do you wrong like that. The stylist, Irene, did not refund my friend her money. The owner who is also Irene's mother did nothing to help the situation. FYI the owner knows nothing about hair, not licensed just owns the place and hires her daughter who for some reason is licensed to ruin people's hair. Usually salon owners are licensed beauticians but I guess this salon is different. And for those who are wondering why my friend paid, well she only did so because first she was in complete shock and just wanted to run home and plus Irene would have most likely call the cops on her for walking out without paying and being arrested is not worth it. Irene should have not charged her especially after telling her to come back to FIX her hair. Anyways, this place is a disgrace! I wish I can take away that star but it is what it is. New to the area and needed to get my haircut. Took a chance on this place. It was kind of hard to…read morepick out from the road not being familiar with the area. I dont want to come off as a snob, but I am used to kind of a trendy salon feel. This place reminds me of a 90's salon if you know what I mean. The guy who cut my hair was nice, did a pretty good job, price was decent. When I got home I realized my side burns were drastically uneven. Not a terrible hair cut, but not good enough to motivate me to save the miles by changing from my normal place. No credit cards, so that eliminates them anyway.
