Could this airport be any smaller and cuter and more convenient? Probably not. We flew into and out of Visby last week, when we visited Gotland during a vacation to Sweden. The Visby Airport is teeny tiny. Everything is easy to find: car rental, baggage claim, check in, security... The security staff were really helpful (I had forgotten about the the whole liquids in bags thing, and the security staff was really helpful and friendly about it). And there's a tiny cafe, where you can grab a coffee or breakfast before a flight - which was nice in such a small cafe. Car rental pickup was a breeze - not many people rent cars at this airport. And it's about a 5-10 minute drive to the airport from anywhere in Visby. The airport was convenient, small, easy - definitely a very good airport experience. No hassle at all! read more

Sadly this is the worse review I have written. First off, everything is practically self service here and in an area where they have many foreigners, Im unsure that is wise. We had shown up 30 minutes prior to our flight which was wrong advice by our airbnb host so therefore missed our flight. We went to information to ask for assistance however they said, "You can get on the flight but your bags can't, we can't help you will have to call an airline." Then I proceeded to go inside of the gate and a person dressed in security was nice enough to go out of the way and find out that we were on the next flight. It was very discouraging to see the variety of customer service, especially after traveling all day. We loved Visby but airport assistance is discouraging. The three stars are for the espresso house that was located inside and the helpful security individual. read more

Small and friendly, staff very eager to help. The fact that is small makes it very easy to handle.

This is a local commuter airport. Being there 30 minutes is more than sufficient. Security is a joke if your used to dealing with TSA in the USA. All of the gates (1-3) through the only security area. Find a seat and relax. When the Swedes start to gather that's your queue to get in line. Once through, make your way to the plane on the Tarmac. Don't get on the wrong plane. These are small planes that use propellers not jet engines. You will be fine although we had a bit of turbulence from bad weather. read more
