Came in without an appointment. Staff was attentive and I was seen quickly. Had a great haircut …read more Just what I wanted! I will return. Atmosphere was welcoming. I had never been there before (visiting the town).

I received what I can only describe as the worst haircut of my life, and I am not exaggerating…read more I understand that bad haircuts happen, and I don't believe the stylist had bad intentions. I simply think she was in over her head with what I was asking for. Unfortunately, the result was so far from what I wanted that I ultimately had to go to another salon to have it corrected. The only way to salvage my hair was to cut it extremely short, which was absolutely not what I had wanted or anticipated. What disappointed me just as much as the haircut was how the situation was handled afterward. The owner, Kathy, did call me, and I politely explained my concerns and sent photographs showing the results. I requested a refund, or even a partial refund, because I genuinely did not feel I should have to pay for a haircut that was so poorly executed. Despite my efforts to resolve the situation reasonably, I never received a response to that request. What particularly stood out to me during my conversation with Kathy was that she actually asked whether I had ever had a haircut like the one in the inspiration photo I brought to my appointment. I answered her question at the time, but afterward I found myself wondering why that was even relevant. Whether I had worn that particular style before had nothing to do with the quality of the haircut I received. Rather than acknowledging the problem, the question struck me as defensive and an attempt to shift some of the responsibility onto me. I found that response surprisingly unprofessional, especially coming from the owner. I was offered the opportunity to return to have the haircut corrected, but given the extent of the original problem, I had no confidence in having the same stylist attempt to fix it. I don't think that's an unreasonable position. I'm not writing this out of anger or to be vindictive. I recognize that mistakes happen, even in good salons. But I also believe that how a business responds when something goes wrong says a great deal about its commitment to customer service. A sincere acknowledgment of the problem and some effort to make things right, even a partial refund, would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience at Level 10 Salon. The haircut itself was bad enough, but the defensive response and lack of meaningful follow-through from the owner made an already disappointing experience considerably worse.

Spent three months travelling throughout Maine and although there was only three CVS pharmacies in…read morethe entire state, I was both surprised and relieved that there were actually more Aveda Salons and this one 45 minutes from where we were staying. I was doubtful that they would agree to respond to an internet inquiry as I wouldn't be a repeat customer but was pleasantly surprised when not only they responded but put with one of their most senior stylist as I was sure I'd be put with a newbie. I understand everyone has to start somewhere but I had a sudden health crisis a year ago that resulted in major hair loss. I was subsequently deeply concerned about a neophyte coloring and trimming my hair. I emailed them my regular stylist's "recipe" and Naomi was an absolute master at her craft. She did an incredible job and was very much a subject matter expert as to what I could do to protect my hair that was coming back in and asses how much new growth I had given it was all uneven. I am strictly team Aveda for years and years but often the sacrifice is the personality of the stylist and although I'm fine with silence, Naomi was the absolute coolest and a complete delight. Do hair and your psyche a favor and schedule an appointment with Naomi, you're worth it and so is the experience.

Eena did a fantastic job with my bridal hairdo! I have very fine, straight hair and she was able to…read morecreate the curled, voluptuous updo I was dreaming of. She asked my opinion about many details to be sure I liked how it looked. Her pricing is more than reasonable compared to what most stylists offer, and she even traveled to our airbnb in Gouldsboro on a day the salon is closed. We genuinely enjoyed meeting her and are happy she was a part of our elopement day. Thank you, Eena!! @hairbyeena
