I received what I can only describe as the worst haircut of my life, and I am not exaggerating…read more I understand that bad haircuts happen, and I don't believe the stylist had bad intentions. I simply think she was in over her head with what I was asking for. Unfortunately, the result was so far from what I wanted that I ultimately had to go to another salon to have it corrected. The only way to salvage my hair was to cut it extremely short, which was absolutely not what I had wanted or anticipated. What disappointed me just as much as the haircut was how the situation was handled afterward. The owner, Kathy, did call me, and I politely explained my concerns and sent photographs showing the results. I requested a refund, or even a partial refund, because I genuinely did not feel I should have to pay for a haircut that was so poorly executed. Despite my efforts to resolve the situation reasonably, I never received a response to that request. What particularly stood out to me during my conversation with Kathy was that she actually asked whether I had ever had a haircut like the one in the inspiration photo I brought to my appointment. I answered her question at the time, but afterward I found myself wondering why that was even relevant. Whether I had worn that particular style before had nothing to do with the quality of the haircut I received. Rather than acknowledging the problem, the question struck me as defensive and an attempt to shift some of the responsibility onto me. I found that response surprisingly unprofessional, especially coming from the owner. I was offered the opportunity to return to have the haircut corrected, but given the extent of the original problem, I had no confidence in having the same stylist attempt to fix it. I don't think that's an unreasonable position. I'm not writing this out of anger or to be vindictive. I recognize that mistakes happen, even in good salons. But I also believe that how a business responds when something goes wrong says a great deal about its commitment to customer service. A sincere acknowledgment of the problem and some effort to make things right, even a partial refund, would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience at Level 10 Salon. The haircut itself was bad enough, but the defensive response and lack of meaningful follow-through from the owner made an already disappointing experience considerably worse. UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review, I received a very kind and thoughtful text from the owner, Kathy. She acknowledged my concerns and offered a refund, which I greatly appreciated. I was very pleased with her response and grateful that she took the time to make things right.

It may be in an older building (Camden is an historic town) and many of the people here are retired, but I get far more value here than many of the places I have had my hair cut. In SC I pay $65 for a cut and blow dry and paid $85 last winter on a cruise ship but the best cut I have had in recent years was by Melanie at this salon for $35.00. She will be cutting my hair again on Friday. As to parking, it is very easy as it is right in front of the building, and should it be tourist season, there is still plenty of free parking within a few blocks.

She took a few days to reply, but this was 90 days in advance for a Thursday wedding. No big deal. I walked in, and was immediately greeted and offered something to drink. Waited less than a minute for my stylist, Amelia, and we went to work. Showed her my hairstyle, and she set to work. She did *precisely* what I asked for, but I've never done that hairstyle before...and I hated it. Mini mental freakout, admitted I didn't like it, and she said, "No problem! We have TONS of time. Really. This happens all the time. Don't even worry about it." She redid my hair about two more times (total time spent on my hair was 45mins), and it was finally perfect. She said, "I'm doing something back here (on the back of my head) that you didn't ask for, but I think you'll like it. It's very "bridal"." She was right. My hair was perfect. Afterwards, she moved me to do my makeup. She gave me a granola bar and more water, reminding me I wouldn't be eating for hours, and we chatted about tons of stuff while she didn't my makeup. Both hair and makeup turned out beautifully, and I thanked her a million times for keeping me calm and staying flexible. I was worried that finding a salon to do my hair on a random weekday morning in the off-season in a small town would be a challenge, but Coppola was able to do my hair for the big day. I scheduled my appointment via email, paid via credit card over the phone and was all set. Christina did my hair and was great about working on it until I was completely satisfied with it, no matter how many hair pins and changes it took! She did an awesome job and made sure to totally coat it in hair spray so the rain wouldn't ruin the style. I'm so happy with how it turned out!
