Specialties
Virtue Counseling is a therapy practice specializing in perinatal mental health, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, pregnancy after loss, and infertility grief. Founded by Jerusha Hull, LCSW, PMH-C — a certified perinatal mental health clinician with over 16 years of experience — Virtue Counseling exists for the moments in life that feel too big to carry alone.
We specialize in the full spectrum of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), including postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum rage, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, and the complex grief that can follow pregnancy loss or an infertility journey. We also support expecting parents in preparing for the fourth trimester before baby arrives — because the best postpartum care often begins prenatally.
Our approach is warm, evidence-based, and tailored to you. We draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-based work — modalities chosen intentionally for the unique demands of the perinatal period.
Virtue Counseling is a private pay practice licensed across multiple states, with in person options in Monmouth County, NJ making specialized postpartum therapy accessible wherever you are. We partner with Mentaya to help clients maximize out-of-network insurance reimbursement.
History
Established in 2018.
Jerusha Hull, LCSW, PMH-C has been specializing in perinatal mental health since 2018, when she launched Virtue Counseling in the DC area three months after the birth of her first daughter. What began as a single-state virtual practice grew into a multi-state practice licensed in NJ, MD, VA, FL, TX, and VT, driven by a belief that quality postpartum care should be accessible no matter where you live.
Over 16 years in clinical practice, Jerusha has become a recognized subject matter expert, including work with Postpartum Support International. She is the author of "There's a Fourth Trimester " a postpartum workbook for new parents, and regularly trains mental health professionals nationally on identifying and preventing postpartum mood disorders.
Her work is personal, clinical, and deeply committed because she knows firsthand what it means to navigate new motherhood while building something meaningful.
