I came in for a consultation second opinion and Dr. Fein was really through and took time to answer my questions. I was able to get next day appointment which I wasn't expecting. He didn't push me to do a root canal but just gave me information so I can make an informed choice. He was honest in if I did it, it may be a short term solution. But I loved the fact he didn't push me to do the procedure knowing it was a short term solution. Run. I came in for a consult and the guy spent about 3 minutes with me and his receptionist came back with an estimate for a root canal with an additional fee of over $500 because, as she explained, I needed a deeper cleaning then a regular root canal. I asked to talk to the dr about it and was told to wait but after 20 minutes of waiting I had to leave. I came back and had it done. About a month ago the pain came back. I went to my dentist and got x-rays and they told me to go back to Dr. Fein as he should be open to redoing the work if it wasn't done correctly. I go see him today and immediately he claimed that the pain was due to the filling my dentist did being done incorrectly or a new infection. He wouldn't even think that it may have not been done fully or he may have missed something. I was told coldly that I could have it retreated, at my own cost. He would absolutely not do anything unless I paid for it. I sent an email regarding thei to he and my dentist in which Dr. Fein replied and denied he had charged me for a deep cleaning and that he never said that my filling wasn't done correctly. He made up a bunch of words and replied to the email. It was in total BS. He actually lied in this email! Read the good reviews but also read the bad ones. This guy apparently does a good job on most but anyone he doesn't do a good job on is refused any type of follow up care or refund. It's a crap shoot and too expensive of one to take. This guy took way more time in replying to my email and lying about what he said then he ever took explaining the bill or the process to me. AVOID THIS DENTAL OFFICE AT ALL TIMES. I had a root canal done (or not completed) at this office on February 26th, 2024, two months later, I had a high sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures, and sometimes to my own breath. I called to see if they could look at my tooth because it was giving me problems. The person at the front desk informed me that I needed to be examined by my primary dentist first and that a referral was required before returning to them. I questioned her how that was possible considering my dentist didn't do the root canal, and she stated that she needed a referral. I asked her what would happen if something else went wrong with the previous treatment I had received at her office, which she said I would have to pay out of pocket because my insurance did not cover it retreatments. Today (07/17/2024), I was in excruciating pain and went to visit my primary doctor, who said he couldn't do anything because he didn't perform the work. I called their office and was told that the next time they could see me was next Friday, which I would be out of the country and I would come back in 2 weeks. so unfortunately they didn't have nothing available for this week. (I WAS IN PAIN IT WAS AN EMERGENCY) I ended up going to a different endodontist, only to find out that I had a canal that had not been TREATED, which was the reason I was in PAIN AND HAVING SENSIVITY They will charge your insurance and fail to complete the work properly, and when you ask them to do it correctly, they will simply make excuses. Furthermore, they want you to come whenever they have time, rather than when there is an emergency. They couldn't see me back when I called first. They want me to pay for a work that was not performed properly. I had been in severe pain and on discomfort for months. They never called to follow up. REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE. And they would probably say "oh we are sorry with your experience blah blah blah" that doesn't fix anything or put $1800.00 back on my bank account that I spend today on the retreatment I got done somewhere else due to them not doing their job properly even when they already got the payment from my insurance. read more

This review has nothing to do with Dr Fein himself professionaly speaking. Seemed like a knowledgeable endodontist to me. But this cant stop a person from becoming greedy. Barely met him and had a "consultation" with him for less than two minutes. And I like this, who wants to spend an hour in the office anyway? Came in prepared. Had my fresh X-Ray and referral from my General Dentist. My negative experience is with the shady billing practices. I dont expect to pay nothing for the consulation. But I do expect to see this fee to be waived if a patient agrees to a recommended procedure. Again, I wont get upset if the medical office wont waive this, I understand - time is money. I came in, signed no papers, no disclaimers. Was told to come in to the consultation room. After litteraly two minutes, I am told that I have to pay $114 for a consultation fee. Asked to break it down. My Dental plan deductible, specialist pay and ( Ladies and Gentleman ) a $49 COVID-19 PPE fee. Alright, but who was gonna tell me verbally or in writing at any point about this? What happend to the common coutesy? Maybe put some signs in a visible area about this fee? Charge whatever fee you want. But give your patient an opportunity to choose and offer some form of transparency. Maybe some people dont care, but I do. I work very hard and every $$$ in todays economy matters!!! Long story short, this is my experience. I would have went ahead with the procedure. Dr. Fein is an excellent Endodontist, but his front desk person (Addie) is consistently rude, disrespectful and overcharged my credit card by $231.00 because incorrect charge codes were billed to my insurance who rejected them. If you want his office to work on your teeth, you have to sign a document first, stating they have the right to charge your credit card for ANYTHING the insurance does not pay. But what happens if they incorrectly bill the insurance??? It took 6 weeks to get refunded properly, not to mention several lengthy conversations with my insurance, who had to explain to me what the codes were and why they were rejected. Dr. Fein was kind enough to send a letter to my insurance explaining why certain things were needed that ultimately were covered, but did not include explanations to them for everything that was initially rejected. In the end, they had to write off one of the charges (for $591) because they knew they used the wrong charge code. All of this unnecessary drama and up-front, over charging could have been avoided if they billed correctly the first time. While Dr. Fein knows his stuff, his front desk staff (Addie), is NOT worth the headache. She is absolutely the WORST! My recommendation is to find a different Endodontist where ALL facets of the business are smooth, professional, and respectful. STAY AWAY! read more

I came in for a consultation. Spoke with the Dr for about 5 minutes. When I checked out my bill was $109!!!! There was a $49 PPE charge! I was very frustrated by this! Informing patient about this cause after the appointment has occurred is unethical. They should be informing patients prior to coming into the appointment and as a check in that there's a $49 PPE cost! I have never seen a PPE cost this steep and believe that they are robbing patients with this cost and not letting people know upfront, and they should definitely be reported! I was really looking forward to having my procedure done by this doctor, but at this point, I am considering other options because I felt like I was misled! Please pay attention to the numerous reviews re. shady billing practice. This office is very difficult to communicate with and engages in fraudulent charges. I visited them for -Consulation - an insurance code that my insurance says that I have 0 co-pay. They insisted on charging me $130. When I questioned them for this practice, they said: sure once we receive payments from your insurance, we all charge you $49 for a test when THEIR BILL said I received a credit for that one. On my bill, they also charged a "COVID-19 PPE" - $49 dollars, this is Mar/2023 and I received no Covid-19 PPE while visiting the office. On their treatment plan, in addition to a widely used insurance charge for my treatment, they insisted on adding another code that doubles my cost. I contacted my insurance and insurance said that it is uncommon and unnessary. And most importantly, 8 out of 9 federal dental insurances don't cover it. They insisted that they are a specialty office and believes that doubling the cost is necessary. I'm more likely to believe them if they charged consultation and that Covid-19 PPE correctly. And their office does not like answering their phone. I called several many times and left messages and not until I said that I'm gonna back charge my credit card, they called me back. Now in addition to back charge, I'm notifying insurance and state licensing board of their charging practice. read more

I was in PAIN. My dentist looked at it, said it's an infected tooth on which a root canal was done (long ago), and referred me to an endodontist who didn't take my insurance (uncaring perhaps). I found great online reviews of Dr. Fein (on Yelp and elsewhere), called his office on Saturday (very helpful and kind staff) and he saw me first thing Monday. Dr. Fein's careful examination included 3-D imaging, which was impressive. He gave me two options in detail, and said that pulling out the tooth is likely the better option for me. That would be loss of potential income for him, but he clearly and honestly placed my interest before his own. He and his staff also made sure -- by finding and making the appointment for me right there and then -- that I saw an oral surgeon (who takes my insurance) asap to shorten my pain. Thank you Dr. Fein and Jen at the front desk. A good doctor is hard to find. I hope you never have to seek an endodontist, but I strongly suggest you find him when you need one. read more

Dr, Fein was absolutely fantastic. I was in extreme pain and they were able to get me in for an appointment within 2 hours of calling. Dr. Fein was thorough and honest in his feedback -- making sure not to waste my time or money. He recommended an oral surgeon nearby who accepts my insurance. Even more, he went above and beyond by sending me my x-rays in an email when he was unable to get confirmation of receipt from the oral surgeons office, to make sure I was all set for my appointment with them the next morning. I had my first root canal today with Dr. Fein. I was delighted when he said he would be using a dental dam and bite blocks (so you don't have to just hold your mouth open...). If you've never had those before, TRUST. Those + Beatles on my ipod + I splurged for nitrous = Awesome. It was definitely a good experience. This is a great endodontist!!! Not only did he do an amazing job on my retreatment for my root canal that was messed up, but he made sure I was in no pain and very courteous. He took me in last minute on a Saturday morning appointment which shows me he is very flexible and cares about people. Dr. Fein seems to be perfect endodontist on paper, this review is not about him but rather about the unprofessional conduct of the front desk lady Addie. I called to make a new patient appointment' first she answered the call as she was in her own house very distracted and proceeded to tell me "I will call you back in about 15min" asked me to repeat my phone number 3-4 times and hung up the phone. After about 40min I called back Addie answered again, didn't bother to acknowledge she didn't call me back. Dr Fein was very gentle, compassionate and had great bedside manner. He used a dental dam to keep all the debris out of my mouth and a bite block to keep my mouth open (seriously the combination was awesome). Had no pain throughout the procedure, offices are clean and modern. There is a TV overhead that you can set to whatever channel for some background noise. Update- I take back what I said about knowing how much I would be paying up front. Almost a year later I received a very convoluted bill with a $50.00 late fee, despite it being the first time I was notified that I still owed anything. I contacted the office and the billing department removed the late fee but also seemed to try to blame me for the back and forth with my insurance company (which was MetLife, a large and reputable dental insurance company.) The billing manager made it a point to say that I should have known there could be additional payments because "it is spelled out several times in the paperwork you signed." Perhaps it was in the fine print but the front desk person told me at the time of the procedure that anything not covered by insurance would be written off so I guess not everyone in their office is on the same page. Dr. Fein is a great endodontist and I have not had any issues with my root canal but after having such a positive experience initially, receiving a bill a year later and being made to feel that it was somehow my fault is unacceptable. read more

Let me start by saying I HATE doing anything related to my teeth and was terrified when I was told I needed a root canal. I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was so nice and let me make an appointment on the day I wanted. When I showed up for my appointment my nerves calmed down a little because of the atmosphere. Everything was so clean, comfortable and updated. The receptionist greeted me with a very friendly attitude and had me fill out the paperwork. She then came out into the waiting room to give me my cards instead of handing it to me over the counter. I thought that was nice. I was taken into the room to get set up for my root canal. The chairs were so comfortable and I was able to pick any channel I wanted to watch. Nothing like watching a little reality tv while your getting worked on. Lol. Dr. Fein and his assistant were amazing. He explained everything that he was going to do and then explained the procedure while it was happening. They constantly checked to see if I was ok which I liked bc I was nervous to begin with. The best part was the bite block they put in my mouth so I didn't have to hold my mouth open the entire time. The procedure was absolutely painless. I really appreciated how kind and friendly everyone was. Made my nerves go away and made the whole visit run smoothly. I am actually looking forward to getting my second root canal done! ;) read more
