This station throws in more hip-hop, rap and R&B tunes for a better mix. Also, they actually play music in the morning. Since there aren't too many local morning talk shows any more, and I'm not a big fan of any national morning personalities, I like that I can just listen to hits on my way to work. No stupid games or DJs who think they're a lot funnier than they actually are. Also, as another reviewer noted, they tend to throw in some old stuff, but not old like the annoying songs from last month, old like "oh, I haven't heard this song for a while and am happy to hear it again." This may be my new standard local station.

Frankly I also like this station because they play more than just whatever the number one song of the week is. The Top 40 station on XM plays the same three songs on repeat, but this station tosses in some older stuff... like Tupac on my way home tonight, and Biggie yesterday afternoon. I like that they play some stuff I haven't heard in a while, keeps me on my toes. If you like Top 40, check this station out. Its arguably just as good as the Top 40 station on XM, and maybe better.

However, this week I drove my husband's car, which is sans XM and my Ipod is dead, so I ended up listening to the radio. I felt very 1999... I was searching around for good tunes, etc. Anyway, I stumbled upon this station because they were playing a song from the late 90s that I legitimately haven't heard in a million years.... Never There by Cake. They are committed to playing 53 minutes of music per hour (which is pretty decent... I can deal with 7 mins of ads over the course of an hour...) and they don't talk over songs... CLUTCH. So fine, I'm not sure I heard the latest Coldplay song on there, and I don't think Katy Perry songs will be on there anytime soon. But they played Hey Jealousy recently, and if you don't believe you can check out their playlist on their website... Try them out. If you really like them- you can listen online whenever you want! Thankfully, President and CEO Curtis Monk hit the bricks last September. However, there is still considerable room for improvement.
