I lived in Virginia Beach for right at two years and my condo was two blocks from Virginia Beach…read more There are a lot of activities on the beach year round and I enjoyed many of them! My favorite was the "Neptune Festival" which was around Labor Day and signified the locals "taking the beach back" from the tourists! I do like the Neptune statue on the beach! I took some free yoga classed offered on the beach, enjoyed watching professional sand sculpture competitions, professional beach volleyball tournaments, and much more! I could have sworn the boardwalk was wooden back then. Regardless if it was wooden or concrete, the boardwalk would open for vehicles every Christmas to enjoy the Christmas lights on the beach! That was always a fun time and Virginia Beach does a great job with this lighting display! It's a must see! We enjoyed rollerblading, bike riding, jogging, and walking along the beach and boardwalk. Why no fifth star? The Atlantic water is ice cold! I did enjoy the beach itself, despite the sand not being as brightly white colored as I'm accustomed to at Orange Beach, Alabama. However, I did not enjoy the ice cold water! Also, during peak tourist season, the beach gets super crowded!

The parking situation here is absolutely horrible. The signs clearly say parking is free, but if…read moreyou go to the aquarium, they end up putting a huge parking ticket on your car. It feels completely unfair and misleading. This honestly seems like a scam to trick people into getting parking tickets. Be very careful if you decide to come here and make sure you fully understand the parking rules before leaving your car.

Is it too early for a beach review? Nah, we need something to look forward to this Winter…read more Sandbridge Beach is a favorite and it's been probably two years since the last time I visited. Parking is plentiful and free. The City of Virginia Beach operates the beach and its guards. The beach is clean and wide. It's not as busy as the VBOF either. For surfing it's better than others with currents. Also a plus is its proximity to Back Bay Park. A drawback is that they do not have an infrastructure built up, but many consider this a plus since it's so natural. You can find a food truck on the road in for tacos named Bandino's. Come out and enjoy with warmer weather in the Spring. It's a family friendly beach, so bring the family and dog too! There are so many reasons why Virginia Beach residents feel as though they live in paradise. Our beaches point blank rock and few would dispute that the city knows how to take excellent care of them for our tourist and locals alike.

Its a little more crowded than it was several years ago & has been built up a little, but it still holds onto its low key beach vibes and 'quieter' more chill environment compared to the ocean front. I greatly enjoy how easy it is to park & walk to the beach. Absolutely love doing shore clean ups here.

It's basically the Eiffel Tower or Big Ben of the Oceanfront; towering, iconic, and perfect for photos. I got an amazing pic there with my little brother that I'll always treasure. The park itself is a chill, grassy space right off the boardwalk, often buzzing with live music and people just soaking up the vibe. It's the perfect spot to relax after a stroll or while waiting for the next show to start, there's also beach access not too far from the park if you want to feel the sand in-between your toes, soak up the sun, or hop in the Atlantic Ocean. Surrounding the park is a whole world of things to do; plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop within walking distance. Whether you're in the mood for seafood, a cocktail, or something sweet, it's all right there. Great views, good energy, and that unforgettable Neptune statue this spot is a Coastal Virgina staple for tourists and locals alike.

There was even the Food Network doing a special! The only downfall was that the space was crowded! I definitely believe they should move it to a larger park either in VB or Norfolk. The winner was Tempt! 100000/10 recommend.
