Vips is like a Mexican Denny's. Some breakfast, but plenty of other things as well.
Importantly, Vips is on of the few sit down restaurants in the airport. It's perfect if you're looking to kill some time before your flight. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of room for your luggage.
I ordered the breakfast Swiss enchiladas ($8 USD) which, unlike the lunch version, includes chicken. These enchiladas are filled with chicken, topped with a traditional Swiss sauce and maybe slices of cheese (?). This was a very wet, yet dry dish. It tasted wildly different than what it looked like and definitely not your typical enchiladas.
The rest of us didn't fare any better. In a haste, someone ordered the Hawaiian milanese ($10 USD). Make no mistake - this was a breaded piece of chicken topped with ham and pineapple. It was as advertised - tasted exactly like a chicken tender with ham and pineapple. This combination, honestly, isn't a good one.
Vips is a very loose interpretation of American-Mexican food which is pretty interesting if you're into that kind of thing. Food aside, this was a relaxing way to kill time before our flight. read more
