This restaurant is a hidden gem on the 3rd floor of Terminal 1. They have "rooftop" seating (actually covered with a huge skylight) and balcony overlooking a portion of the terminal. Or you may dine inside at cozy tables with cloth napkins. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with colorful traditional Mexican art. I felt like I walked into a different world far away from the bustle of the airport. The extensive menu has everything from traditional Mexican delights (antojitos), tacos, to soups and salads, beef, chicken, seafood, and even delicacies like crickets or escamoles for the adventurous. I chose a tlalpeño soup and a the Chile relleno. They were delicious! They have a full bar for those who want it, but I chose one of their refreshing aguas frescas. They also offer soft drinks or bottled water and coffee. I was too full for a dessert, though they looked amazing. Prices run high for Mexican standards: between 200 to 500 pesos an entree. But considering the excellent table service, enchanting decor, the quality and presentation of the food it is worth it. I've paid more in the USA for far less. The servers are attentive and friendly, dressed with unique traditional Mexican accessories. When we asked one to take our picture, he offered us sombreros to wear for the picture. Sure, why not? Kinda disappointed. Based on other reviews expected a really nice ambience and high quality food. I wasn't very happy with the shrimp cakes, it tasted like old/dirty shrimp. Taste did not match price. Certainly there is an effort here to be special, but I think next time I'd just grab something from the food court at 1/3 the price and maybe better taste. Service was ... very.... attentive. More than I like. That kind of efforting-to-make-an-impression-but-actually-overcomplicating sort of vibe. read more

Surprisingly good, authentic Mexican fare for an airport restaurant. We enjoyed the Crema de Poblano soup with cuitlacoche and Caldo Tlalpeño soup for starters. Dinners were Chicken in Pipian Verde and Pork Ribs in Salsa Verde with the Pipian Verde - pumpkinseed sauce high in Vitamin E and fiber - being the winner of the two. I would call this an overpriced tourist trap. The decorations are nice and all but at the end of the day it is inside the airport and it caters to tourists.. the prices are high and the food is not great. Also, drink prices are not advertised so It was an unpleasant to surprise to see the extra high prices on the bill. The location is convenient without a doubt but I would not go back . This review is for the food court location. I just had very friendly service and three delicious tacos. Two shredded chicken and one potato and beef mixture on corn tortillas. A lemonade drink was included but I didn't drink it because of the water. There was no garnish or sides with the tacos but I didn't miss it. Homemade hot sauce was available. The employees spoke some English and were very patient with my Spanglish. I was able to pay with American Express credit card. Really good, will return. Wish I knew how to make that wonderful shredded chicken. read more

Sad to say, the service this afternoon was very disappointing for us. We asked for a drinks menu and the waiter got upset since we were not going to order food yet. He then came back and brought a giant drinks sign and sat it next to us. Such incidents shouldn't happen much less here. Good customer service is essential. This is a great place to eat in the Mexico City International Airport. We had a variety of appetizers one of which the Escamoles was fantastic! Don't ask what it is just try it first! Very nice place inside Terminal 1, close to Hilton Hotel. Typical Mexican food, plus nice beef cuts and fish. The interior is styled like a Mexican cantina, but as the restaurant's veranda is open to the terminal, it is a bit noisy. Service is quite attentive and offers great hospitality. Steaks were just perfect, the Guacamole delicious and the choice of desserts very generous, and tempting! A bit on the expensive side. read more

We got a late dinner here before our international flight out. The service was good and food came to our table quickly. Without realizing it, we ordered a lot of food: tortilla soup, taquitos, queso fundido, a flight of five different quesadillas, and two different flavors of margaritas. Plus, we loaded up on the chips and salsa because they were so good! The margaritas were a generous size but only okay in taste. My husband always thought taquitos were "fake" Mexican, but they were flavorful with a great crunch. The fundido was so delicious - who doesn't like fried cheese? Everything else was pretty good. Prices were higher than we'd like - but the convenience of being right by the international terminal couldn't be beat. read more

5 stars for great service, a darling ambiance, and yummy food (especially for an airport). I am so glad that we did not just go with just any old option on the ground floor. This restaurant is located on the 2nd floor (planta/piso 1), and I recommend paying them a visit if you have more than an hour to kill before a flight. read more

Not a bad place for airport food. If you have not had your fill of authentic Mexican food in Mexico, this might be your last chance on the way out. This restaurant is part of Taco Holdings, which also owns the Mansión steak restaurant, which is also at the airport and in Zona Rosa. The service was was impecable and the food was good. Airport food - even as a standalone restaurant, it was just A-OK. We split a cemita, after having had one before we knew how large they are. The bread was more like bland white bread than brioche-type. Service was - eh - ok. It was all just okay. I'd recommend the tacos at the food court instead.. those smelled delicious. Great food and service, especially for an airport restaurant! A flight attendant recommended we try it and we had an awesome experience. Their breakfast menu has many hearty options, and our waiter was attentive with the coffee. They even came around with pan dulci, one of our favorite treats! The ambiance is nice as well. Not bad for airport food. The service was very quick which was greatly appreciated since I only had 20 minutes until my departure.

An enjoyable airport meal. Atmosphere was pleasant and away from the hustle of the terminal. Waitstaff was very patient with my English and being a solo diner. The menu seemed to have some authentic choices that were a little too adventurous for me. The tamarind margarita was very tasty. I also enjoyed the poblano soup (pretty mild) and red snapper Veracruz. Definitely a good choice for sit-down Mexican food at MEX. read more

We were very disappointed. My tacos de carnitas was inedible. My colleagues got chicken cutlets. They brought one beef and one chicken and they looked flat as pancakes. Inedible. The worst part was the waitstaff did not care that our food was bad. Go to fogocito in the fast food area. It was delicious!!! read more
