It's hard to select an overall rating for this Thai restaurant but will do 4 stars that includes an extra star for being open on a Monday during the holidays and a global pandemic. Otherwise this would have been just 3 stars.
If you just get one thing here, get the Pad Grapao. It was very good and a bit spicy. It tasted like in Thailand.
About Pad Grapao:
"Phat kaphrao (Thai: , pronounced [pàt kā.prāw]; transl. stir-fried holy basil), also spelled pad krapow, kaprao, is one of the most popular Thai à la carte dishes. Phat kaphrao consists of meat such as pork, chicken, beef, and seafood stir fried with Thai holy basil and garlic. It is served with rice and topped up (optional) with fried eggs or khai dao (Thai: ). The main seasonings are soy sauce, Thai fish sauce, oyster sauce (optional), cane sugar, and bird's eye chili." The other dishes were ok but the main issue was they combined the curries and the rice in one container instead of keeping them separate so the rice was totally soggy by the time we got home and just not so good anymore. If we were to order from them again, I would ask them to keep them separate or even bring my own containers for pick up so they can put the food in separate ones if they don't have many containers (plus better for the environment).
From what I could taste of the curries, all three, panaeng, green, and massaman were good. It was just kinda ruined with the rice already mixed in and soggy.
The spring rolls were not worth it. I think the frozen ones from Edeka are better. The salapao meat buns were ok but probably wouldn't order again. The Thai iced tea came in a can from Thailand! It was good and I would get it again.
Overall, recommended, but you need to ask them to keep the rice separate for takeaway. read more
