Talk about thorough and professional. She immediately offered a practical solution to our horse's watery stools that I have been working with vets for over a year on and explained the method and research to support it. She was so thorough in communicating with me, my barn, and flexible as well. I had no doubts that every single thing my horse needed for cross-country travel was squared away and done correctly. Did I mention that she understood our time crunch, overnight mailed documents to me, and hand-delivered a Coggins to UC Davis for rush service? My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner.

And I LOVE getting written reports from Dr Kelly emailed directly to me with results, a plan of action and needs for my horses. Then, it gets even better, she calls back the next day or during the same night to check up on the status of your horse and if you need anymore help! No vet has ever done that extra caring. She's a surgeon and a vet's vet. Keen, smart and sleuths with detective accuracy. Emergencies are her forte. And she's calm and analytically cool in a dire emergency. And she truly cares!!

Gui Gui had been limping for about a week, and on Monday his surgeon referred us to Dr. Fetherston for a definitive diagnosis. Dr. Fetherston's team quickly found an appointment for him on Wednesday. I know he already had several surgeries scheduled that day, and it was an extremely full day for him and his staff. Yet, without hesitation, they made time to take Gui Gui in and care for him. Dr. Fetherston and his team started their day before 8 a.m. and stayed until 7-8 p.m. in order to make sure Gui Gui received the care he needed. Their dedication went far beyond what I could have expected. Gui Gui was diagnosed with septic arthritis, a very serious and potentially life-threatening infection. The team acted quickly and thoroughly, performing X-rays, joint lavage, bacterial cultures, and starting appropriate antibiotics. Thanks to their prompt diagnosis and treatment, Gui Gui was already doing much better the very next day. I truly believe that seeing Dr. Fetherston when we did made a critical difference. Without timely treatment, septic arthritis can progress to a much more serious systemic infection. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Fetherston and every member of his team. It is clear that everyone there genuinely cherishes animals and is wholeheartedly dedicated to helping and saving them. Their compassion, professionalism, expertise, and willingness to go above and beyond deeply touched me. It is very difficult to find a veterinary team like this--people who not only have extraordinary medical skills, but who also care so deeply about the animals entrusted to them. Thank you, Dr. Fetherston and team, for taking care of my Gui Gui and for giving him the care he needed when he needed it most. I will always be grateful.

Update of previous review:…read more Dr. Lane performed the splenectomy on my beloved dog on Monday. When I arrived to pick her up Monday night (after hours to give her more time to recover from the anesthesia) Dr. Lane told me about the procedure and asked if I would like to see a picture of the removed spleen w/ tumor (I did). I was given thorough instructions for her care and numbers for several emergency hospitals as well as Dr. Lane's cell phone number in case my girl experienced distress during the night! The following day, Dr. Lane called to check on her progress (which was excellent) and asked that I bring her in for a physical exam on Friday. I brought her in and Dr. Lane checked her incision, which is healing beautifully, with no swelling, bruising or redness. I let Dr. Lane know that my pup is energetic and is showing no sign of discomfort. She gave me further instruction as to when she can resume limited walks and when she can return to normal activity. I could not be happier with this experience. Not only are these folks highly skilled, professional and compassionate, but their office charges are fully a third less than I was paying at her previous vet and the overall total for her surgery and care was significantly less than I would have paid at the other facility. If you are looking for a vet for your own beloved pet, this is the place!

When things got serious, Dr. Yohler was not only incompetent, but he was harmful. I'll talk about the damage Dr. Yohler did to our puppy second. First, to our Staffie. The greatest god I've ever had. When my dog got sick, Yohler showed me all these terrible labs, and said they would keep her overnight. In my fear and worry, I didn't ask what they would be doing to treat her. It turns out, NOTHING. He let her sit there, overnight, for no reason. When I got there in the morning, he said we should bring her to the emergency vet where they might be able to do something. It took me a while to process just how terrible this was. After she died. We wound up getting a puppy. The puppy was constantly limping and in pain. Dr. Yohler couldn't figure it out.
