Injury from neglectful trainer
Di F.

My filly had a one in a million chance of pulling through a Severe hoof injury. Dr. Jordan Bui (Hewitt), and staff worked diligently from day one with every means at their disposal. My filly was hospitalized there for three weeks and then came home for follow up treatment ev. 3 weeks. I've met other competent and skilled vets but None that showed me the caring and dedication like Dr Bui (Hewitt) and the AMAZING staff at CLAH. Cant praise them enough!

Maur maur a week after coming back home

I have two pot belly pigs. Maurus, the male, and Sonoma, the female. They are the loves of my life. Both of them go to cotati large animal hospital. Dr. Dotti did my little girl's procedure to get spayed. His work was clean and he was confident. He was always available for questions answered. I watched him work and was just in awe at the cows and goats he had for patients! I can tell dr. Dotti really knows what he is doing! Dr. Roche took care of my maurus aka maur-maur, the pig who was hospitalized for 4 whole sad sad days...I was miserable and my little piggy boy was so sick. She healed him back, and called me every day, and kept me well informed. She left me voice mails, and called me in the morning to tell me how he did over night. At the end of the work day, she called me and told me about maurus' day. She's honest, and confident and takes the time for each animal AND their human. All the doctors are great here! The staff who answers the phone is also helpful and every one was easy to work with every time I called in a TOTAL wreck. I will always come here. Ps. You cant beat their prices either.

Happy Birthday Tommy! March 23 2020

I have nothing but gratitude and praise for this place. I…read moretook my dog, Ruthie, there this week because something seemed "off" with her, and I was concerned that she might have a UTI. We waited only about an hour to be seen--we were lucky that they weren't too busy. The veterinarian on duty, Dr. Robin Schaffner, was thorough and painstaking. She recommended blood and urine tests and suggested waiting for the results before deciding on the next course of action. I really appreciated that she didn't prescribe medication "just in case." She took the time to find out what was actually going on before treating Ruthie. A big shout-out to the veterinary technician, Alayna, who showered my nervous-wreck-of-a-dog with love and kindness. Ruthie was clearly much more comfortable because of the care and reassurance she received from her. Dr. Schaffner followed up with us the next day when the bloodwork results came back, which I very much appreciated. The charges were also very fair. I know some people complain about the examination fee being taken up front, but I suspect this has become necessary for the clinic. Veterinary care is expensive to provide, and veterinarians and veterinary technicians certainly don't go into this profession for the money. I'm simply grateful to have a place where my dog is treated with such care, compassion, and professionalism. Thank you, Dr. Schaffner, Alayna, and everyone there who took such good care of Ruthie.

I can't say enough wonderful things about VCA Animal Care Center in Rohnert Park and the…read moreexceptional care my Bengal cat, Taz, received. We brought Taz in after he was bitten by a dog, and as stressful as the situation was, the team immediately made us feel like he was in the best hands. Bengals can be intimidating if you've never worked with one before. Taz has a very loud growl, and his meow sounds like he's ready to attack, but he's actually a sweetheart. Because of that, I'm always a little nervous about how people will react to him. Jacob was absolutely amazing. He worked seamlessly alongside the veterinarian, and together they made an incredible team. I was especially impressed with how calm, patient, and confident he was while helping treat Taz's injuries. When it came time to clip and clean the area around the dog bite, Jacob worked with me to keep Taz calm, and together we were actually able to get everything done without having to sedate him. That was huge for us because Taz has always had a very difficult reaction to sedation. Jacob's gentle handling and compassionate approach made all the difference. From the moment we arrived until we left, Jacob was attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in Taz's well-being. He made sure we had everything we needed, checked in on us throughout the visit, and gave Taz plenty of extra pets and reassurance. The thing that impressed me the most is that after roughly ten visits over the years, Jacob is the first person Taz has ever truly liked. If you've ever owned a Bengal, you know that's saying something! Thank you to the entire team at VCA Animal Care Center, and especially to Jacob, for turning an incredibly stressful emergency into such a positive experience. Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication to both pets and their owners do not go unnoticed. Jacob is an incredible asset to your hospital, and we are so grateful for the care he gave Taz.

My…read moredaughter had an emergency with her beloved cat and rather than encourage her to take expensive steps that may or may not with them, plus boarding etc, RP Vet was empathetic and encouraged her to go to the emergency vet (cat lived, and it COST a lot). I was very impressed with her story, so I brought my three cats in. They were SO thorough and explained everything, expressed compassion and left no doubt I had chosen my new vet correctly. I was late for boosters for two of them and started the process again, but could only bring one cat in. The other had been let out just 15 minutes before I needed to crate him ggrrr. When I got home, the little jerk ran into the house...and the kind woman at RP Vet said she would squeeze him in to keep both of them on the same schedule. I am so pleased and genuinely surprised they accommodated my inability to bring both in as planned! Usually everyone knows not to let the pets out if I have vet plans...but things happen. RP Vet also made it happen and I am very, very happy. I have an old cat, and two young ones. One is exclusive indoor and a long haired idiot. The other young one is a plain grey indoor/outdoor and then the third is an old large tabby cat. All three will be returning as needed, and I have found my new vet.

Rather than addressing my concerns or attempting to discuss the situation, Dr. Karanveer Mann sent his technician to inform me that "he's not comfortable seeing me." This response is disappointing on multiple levels. First, refusing service to a client for leaving a fair review raises serious questions about how feedback is handled at this practice. Second, the lack of direct communication shows poor customer service and unprofessional conflict resolution. I also believes this demonstrates his character over all. If my previous review contained inaccuracies, I would have welcomed a conversation to address them. I would have even removed the review as part as an agreed resolution. Instead, I was dismissed without any attempt at dialogue. This experience has only reinforced my original concerns about the practice's approach to client relationships. On a personal level - look Dr. Mann, you need to humble yourself and although I might not look like it, I'm sure I earn more money than you as an engineer of 15+ years without the doctorate degree and your attitude that comes along with it. I'm looking forward to establishing a relationship with a new local vet and it's a pity Dr Chahal turned this great business over to you.

This is not a slam on the local staff at VCA North Park, but I am hoping that my review will make…read moreit to someone at their corporate office. As long-time VCA customers, it is maddening to call for an appointment, only to hear that they are booked out for the entire month ahead. There are also no doctors working in the office today, which happens to be a weekday where one would expect at LEAST one doctor to be on duty. Our need today was to get a refill for a prescription steroid medicine for a cat that was seen for that issue in the past. This would normally be an easy thing to work around within a few days, even without an appointment, but the prior doctor had put instructions that this 11 year old cat, who has had these allergies his entire life, needed to be seen again in office prior to any refills being given. On top of being booked out for an entire month, and not being able to provide even a prescription for a short course until the cat can be seen, this particular veterinarian has left the practice. As mentioned previously, this is not a reflection on the hard-working local staff, but on VCA Corporate as a whole. VCA North Park, I have been told by the front desk, is short on veterinarians, so there are AT LEAST TWO DAYS A WEEK when there are no veterinarians on duty. VCA is a big enough corporation with many locations that they should be able to staff properly, even if they have to assign a doctor from another office. I do not see how VCA North Park can stay in business running things this way. On a positive note, VCA North Park was able to squeeze us in for an appointment two weeks ago (different cat who had been vomiting). Dr. Powers examined our cat, Samson, and recommended a special diet, which we have put him on and has been effective. Dr. Powers even provided an e-mail that she can check when she works (on Tuesdays), for status updates on Samson. Another VCA veterinarian, Dr. Leavey (who we have seen for years), provided a written prescription for the special when we ran out of what we purchased there. Veterinarians don't choose their vocations for reasons other than that they want to help animals. But it is ridiculous from a business standpoint to make customers wait a month because the corporation cannot keep the business staffed. From a pet standpoint, having to wait a month just to get a prescription -- or go to the busy (and expensive)?VCA Animal Care Center/Emergency Vet, as was suggested by VCA North Park, seems like incredibly bad service. I hope that VCA Corporate can run some numbers and see how many dollars they are losing doing business this way, and make staffing vets a priority. Meanwhile, our cat with the skin allergy suffers.

Dr. Courtney Wong was thorough, kind, inquisitive and patient. She gave us so much time and care. Her assistant, Amy, was kind and caring. Pippin got the care he needed, just when he needed it. That's pretty special given the current shortage of veterinarians. I am most grateful to the VCA North Park team for their kindness and professionalism and their dedication to our pets' welfare.

A sad time, indeed, but with Dr. Stephanie there in our home to help us guide Rocco over to the Rainbow Bridge, we felt a sense of relief and peace that he was no longer in pain. Flash forward to 2022, and our wonderful therapy doggie named Dharma was suddenly diagnosed with aggressive cancer. After speaking with the VCA oncologist, we knew the best decision for Dharma was to let her go, and make sure she no longer was suffering. We send an email to Dr. Stephanie, hoping that she would remember us, and be available to offer euthanasia in our home. She replied immediately, and with that same compassion and love as she had for Rocco. Within a few weeks, we greeted her at our new place, and it was as if time and distance had never parted us.
