I can't say enough wonderful things about VCA Animal Care Center in Rohnert Park and the…read moreexceptional care my Bengal cat, Taz, received. We brought Taz in after he was bitten by a dog, and as stressful as the situation was, the team immediately made us feel like he was in the best hands. Bengals can be intimidating if you've never worked with one before. Taz has a very loud growl, and his meow sounds like he's ready to attack, but he's actually a sweetheart. Because of that, I'm always a little nervous about how people will react to him. Jacob was absolutely amazing. He worked seamlessly alongside the veterinarian, and together they made an incredible team. I was especially impressed with how calm, patient, and confident he was while helping treat Taz's injuries. When it came time to clip and clean the area around the dog bite, Jacob worked with me to keep Taz calm, and together we were actually able to get everything done without having to sedate him. That was huge for us because Taz has always had a very difficult reaction to sedation. Jacob's gentle handling and compassionate approach made all the difference. From the moment we arrived until we left, Jacob was attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in Taz's well-being. He made sure we had everything we needed, checked in on us throughout the visit, and gave Taz plenty of extra pets and reassurance. The thing that impressed me the most is that after roughly ten visits over the years, Jacob is the first person Taz has ever truly liked. If you've ever owned a Bengal, you know that's saying something! Thank you to the entire team at VCA Animal Care Center, and especially to Jacob, for turning an incredibly stressful emergency into such a positive experience. Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication to both pets and their owners do not go unnoticed. Jacob is an incredible asset to your hospital, and we are so grateful for the care he gave Taz.

Rather than addressing my concerns or attempting to discuss the situation, Dr. Karanveer Mann sent his technician to inform me that "he's not comfortable seeing me." This response is disappointing on multiple levels. First, refusing service to a client for leaving a fair review raises serious questions about how feedback is handled at this practice. Second, the lack of direct communication shows poor customer service and unprofessional conflict resolution. I also believes this demonstrates his character over all. If my previous review contained inaccuracies, I would have welcomed a conversation to address them. I would have even removed the review as part as an agreed resolution. Instead, I was dismissed without any attempt at dialogue. This experience has only reinforced my original concerns about the practice's approach to client relationships. On a personal level - look Dr. Mann, you need to humble yourself and although I might not look like it, I'm sure I earn more money than you as an engineer of 15+ years without the doctorate degree and your attitude that comes along with it. I'm looking forward to establishing a relationship with a new local vet and it's a pity Dr Chahal turned this great business over to you.

Dr. Kristensen has been above and beyond for us lately, reaching out to us consistently to follow-up and consult on a complex and frightening situation. It cost me $564 to have them do two exams on my two cats, one set of shots, and flea medication. This is much higher than any vet I've used in the area. On top of that, this bill is after fending off constant upselling on the part of the vet. She couldn't tell me what was wrong with my elderly cat because, despite a $90+ exam, she needed to do a full panel of blood work to even guess why the cat is acting a little low-energy (he's 17 years old). Despite being unable to diagnose anything with my cat, she suggested I get him a monthly shot that "some people" feel helps elderly animals with arthritis. When she told me that, I watched her write $170 on my chart, as if she was calculating how much money she could get from these shots every month. Also, she said she couldn't tell for sure if the cat has arthritis or not. Likewise, when she learned my younger cat's vaccines were out of date, she told me she would have to start the whole thing over and that I would have to take the cat in AGAIN in 6 weeks for boosters. When I pushed back on this, she dropped it and gave the cat his shots. This isn't the first time she has done this. When my cat had an abscess in the past, she used it as an excuse to send me home with bags of medications, bandages, a cat collar... all for a fairly routine and not serious injury. It truly feels like a car salesman trying to add expensive seat warmers or stereo upgrades I don't want. It makes it so I can't trust anything she says. I was also shamed by this woman. She scolded me repeatedly for letting vaccines lapse and not coming to see her sooner, even though the last few years have been really hard on my family (unemployment, deaths in the family etc) and bringing healthy cats into the vet wasn't a priority. Here I was trying to catch up on the lapse and I was told how negligent I am as a pet owner. She also discovered one of my cats had a flea and acted like it was the most disgusting thing she'd ever seen and told me *three times* how I was going to have to clean my whole house. She was in the middle of telling my how quickly fleas breed before I asked her to please stop. It was way over the top and felt designed to make me feel like a filthy person because the cat had a flea. This is ironic because the office is feeling really dingy these days. There was also a toxic atmosphere between this vet and her underlings, and they passive-aggressively bickered in front of me. The assistant also gripped my cat in such an uncomfortable, harsh way during the exam that I intervened and told her I would hold the cat instead. It wasn't hurting the cat, but it was intrusive and was adding stress to an already upsetting situation for the animal. Overall I think this is a vet to avoid.
