Best vet ever! He has the animal's best interest at heart. Won't upsale you on expensive treatments if the animal doesn't need them.

We bring our greyhound all the way from San Francisco to see Dr. Patrick. He is the best vet I've ever encountered.

We had to take our kitty in on NYE evening, and while it is not an ideal situation to be in, they made the experience as stress-free and compassionate as possible. They quoted us a wait time of 8ish hours, which in my experience is pretty average for an ER. After 10 minutes or so, they took us back to get vitals done and hold onto our kitty while they discussed treatment options. Both the assisting technician and primary doctor were incredibly kind and understanding, and laid out very transparent and varied pricing for different procedures. We ended up opting for the lower range and less intensive exam, which was quoted at about $1300-$1500. We completely understood, and while a bit steep, is again average for what needed to be done. To our surprise (and delight) they told us they would hang onto our cat and give him some mild sedatives while he waited to be seen. They gave us some good food recommendations near by, and let us know they'd give us a call when he was ready. Once again, to our absolute surprise, they gave us a call THREE HOURS later that it was a successful procedure and he was all ready to go! We rushed to get him and they had us settle up our bill. The total? $420. I nearly broke down in tears on the spot, I sincerely was not expecting the cost to be so low. Every single staff member from the receptionists, assistants/residents, and doctors were SO nice despite working in what I imagine is a high-intensity and stressful work environment. Our cat is almost back to full health less than 48 hours later, and the weight has been lifted off of our chests. I cannot thank the heroes that work here enough for everything they do.

I scheduled and canceled Ollie's euthanasia appointment four different times because I just wasn't ready, and they never once made me feel guilty or pressured. They even allowed me to arrive and then back out when I couldn't go through with it. That level of kindness and humanity is something I will never forget. When the time finally came, they gave Ollie such a peaceful, dignified passing, and gave me the space and support I needed. I also want pet owners to be aware that many veterinary clinics today are owned by VCA Animal Hospitals, which is part of Mars Corp. the same company behind well-known candy brands. Since that corporate takeover, many practices have become more expensive with vets and staff paid commissions on what procedures they sell! Wine Country Veterinary Hospital is independent and not owned by VCA/Mars, and it truly shows not only in their fair pricing, but in the genuine, heartfelt care they give. I am deeply grateful to have found a place that still puts compassion first. Thank you for helping me through one of the most painful moments of my life.

I brought in my newly rescued and sick Sulcata Tortoise. I brought her in for an exam, she has MBD and a URI and thanks to Dr. Arnowitz diagnostics I also know she has intestinal parasites and a bladder stone. She gave me great information and plans for treatment. Now, Lumpy is on the road to recovery. Also, when I called with a few more questions after the appointment Dr. Arnowitz was available to talk. I know this won't always be the case but it was really nice to talk to her quickly and not get a call back a couple days later (like other vet experiences I've had). Dr. Arnowitz is very knowledgeable, thorough and friendly. I would recommend this Vet Hospital to anyone who is looking for a great reptile vet! Thank you Dr. Farah Arnowitz and the staff at SRVH!!

It's ok, I should have left after the adenoma removal, and certainly after the brutal blood draw from his jugular vein coupled with the first appearance of ringworm ( not their fault, they say). I believe my elderly, house dog who only goes out to the yard just got a second ringworm infection there, and of course, they deny it. However they can't deny the results of a simple adenoma removal surger, or this swollen julgular vein from a chem panel draw. It got worse, not better, until the vet prescribed antibiotics. Their attitude is 'prove it'. You've been warned.
