Her name is Fur Elise but my son calls her "Fur Obese". The vet came with a truckload of vet stuff; he spent a good half hour with me before coming in to the house, talking about the cat issues and giving her a pill sedative so that he could examine her. He managed to corral her safely, wrap her in a cat blanket with a secure closure, and gave her an exam. He prescribed her some medications and gave me advice on feeding portions and types of cat food to consider. Very grateful for his thorough discussion with me. My cat is fine now, no longer vomitting, and has lost a little blubber.

When I arrived at the ER, Delilah was seen immediately and received medical attention right away. The team worked quickly to stabilize her, and throughout the entire process everyone was kind, respectful, and compassionate. A special thank you to Dr. Henry, who was wonderful during such a difficult time. She was honest, clear, and compassionate when explaining Delilah's condition and prognosis. She gave me her professional assessment while also supporting me through the heartbreaking decision to let Delilah go. Her kindness and empathy meant more to me than I can express. This was my first time visiting this hospital, as I had never needed emergency veterinary care before. Even though the circumstances were overwhelming and emotional, every staff member treated us with care and respect. I would not hesitate to return if I ever needed emergency care for my pets again, and I am even considering transferring the routine care of my other cat to this facility because of the exceptional experience we had and its convenient location close to home. Thank you to everyone who cared for Delilah and helped me through such a difficult goodbye.

Was contacted by the vet assistant/ "office manager" , Louis, that I had been rude to the receptionist . He was unprofessional and very inapprorpate in how he handled this. He was aggressive, rude and never asked me for my recollection of said two occurrences. Not willing to listen when I tried to ask about it or suggest my rememberence. Was told this was now "in my file", and was basically on probation, like a schoolchild. I was never rude nor did I use profanity, which I was accused of. Don't understand why this happened. I do recall that the receptionist was annoyed that I called to change a "walk in " and I (politely) asked for an appointment. She acted inconvenienced. I still was not unkind. I responded to the office manager that I would find another vet for the future and he said " good". To add further insult, I then received an email that they were "terminating my services , due to inappropriate behavior etc etc". I told them I would not return - why did they need to send that to me ? He needs training regarding the proper way to handle situations like that In the future. I do not recommend their services.

Saying goodbye to my sweet Ollie at 18.5 years old was one of the hardest things I've ever faced…read more The team at Wine Country Veterinary Hospital met me with compassion, patience, and understanding every step of the way. I scheduled and canceled Ollie's euthanasia appointment four different times because I just wasn't ready, and they never once made me feel guilty or pressured. They even allowed me to arrive and then back out when I couldn't go through with it. That level of kindness and humanity is something I will never forget. When the time finally came, they gave Ollie such a peaceful, dignified passing, and gave me the space and support I needed. I also want pet owners to be aware that many veterinary clinics today are owned by VCA Animal Hospitals, which is part of Mars Corp. the same company behind well-known candy brands. Since that corporate takeover, many practices have become more expensive with vets and staff paid commissions on what procedures they sell! Wine Country Veterinary Hospital is independent and not owned by VCA/Mars, and it truly shows not only in their fair pricing, but in the genuine, heartfelt care they give. I am deeply grateful to have found a place that still puts compassion first. Thank you for helping me through one of the most painful moments of my life.
