This is my first review ever, and I almost don't want to post it because I don't want everyone to find out about this place and ruin it for me. Walked in around 6pm last Monday and the customer service was exceptional. They greeted me right as I walked in, and had me in a chair in under 5 minutes. This was my first haircut in over a year, so it was no small task. Max was my barber. He gave me a fresh cut, was super detailed, did exactly what I asked, and when I asked him to change up something at the end, he was responsive and cool about it (my experience is most barbers are rude about this). Max and the other barbers were some chill and fun dudes. Not only did I leave with a fresh look, but I had a fun time while I was there. These guys are passionate about their profession, and they're the type of people that you don't mind paying for their work because it's so well-deserved (and a fair price!) I rarely feel that way because I'm poor lol. Wish I could give them 6 stars. I'll be a repeat customer for sure, and you should be too!! read more

Boyfriend went here last minute. They were able to attend him fast. Customer service was average/nice. With no doubt they cut hair just not at the quality of the price of $50. Wouldn't recommend for specific haircuts or for events maybe just a regular trim:). read more

Ernie and his team are great barbers! Great place for back to school haircuts. Quick and efficient while the prices stay low!

The digs itself is attractive and clean. Everything else is off big time. I was only asked what style I wanted by my barber and for the next hour, not a single word spoken to me. Instead, the young staff talk amongst themselves about their drunken adventures together, over the warm background of loud rap music videos. They use really bright halo LED lights that are uncomfortable as hell, and just not a welcoming atmosphere period. At the end of my cut, I gave the guy a five dollar tip. He didn't deserve it, but I'm just cultured like that. It surprised me he didn't even flinch, yet alone say a thank you. Just kept going about his socializing with the other barbers. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

While trying to find a new barber shop, I noticed that right around the corner from my place there's this place VIP Cutz. I decided to give them a shot! Now I'm not looking anywhere else. They have nice music selection playing in the background. Wait time are totally reasonable for the quality work they're doing. If you ever happen to stop by, please please, ask for Ernie! He's the scissors master! Like a wizard, show him or explain him what you want, and no need to worry, the end result will exceed expectations! Prices are reasonable. The place always look impecable, and also, all the staff works really hard to keep their stations clean every time they can! You won't be dissapointed! read more

My first time here was an absolutely amazing job I would highly recommend if your in need of a barber shop or wanna try a new spot swing by abs get a fresh cut at VIP CUTZ read more

Have taken my son to several shops in the area. And this one always takes care of my boy. They are all welcoming, always have the lollipops in stock. I've asked a lot of Barbers not to use the blowers because my son is scared, and this is the only shop that respects my request. That's a big deal. Definitely recommend especially for Moms taking their boys. Thanks VIP boys! read more

good cutz but really bad vibe to be honest i didnt feel aquainted , awkward the whole hour I was there barber pulls ears and turns your head aggresively when he need to switch sides . Not WELCOMING at all; Not even a "Thanks for coming" for a 30$ cut I expected better treatment . No tip . read more

Barbers don't care about making you look good they just want the money. I tried 3 different barbers there and they all just tried to get me and other customers out as soon as possible read more

I love this barbershop! The shop is filled with nothing but talented professionals. Honestly the best kept secret in San Diego! San Diego isn't known for their barbers. But, all these guys can cut! Lines and wait times are always short! And it is close to base for military! I have been constantly going here for the past 3 years! read more

So I left my old babershop and went to VIP Cutz to check out my boy Julio. When you walk in you'll take note of how clean the shop is, the decor is amazing, chairs (including the waiting chairs) are super comfortable. The shop is very modern and professional looking. Julio and David give some of the cleanest (if not the best) fades in San Diego. I primarily get my hair cut by Julio(everybody has their particular barber they go to) and I go to David when he is not available but trust, ALL the Barbers in this shop have mad skills. I've been to a lot of barbers in San Diego and I got to say this shop takes the cake. I am pretty particular how my hair is cut, so me saying that is saying something. They can do it all down to the most elaborate designs. If you decide to get a shave you also get a hot towel shave which is pretty relaxing when they put the towel on. They take their time with each cut so each cut is precise and they make sure you get the type of cut that you ask for. I highly recommend this shop to anybody looking for a haircut or if you're looking for a new barber. AND THE PRICES ARE SUPER REASONABLE. read more
