I am still going to diversity for my cut but now I am seeing Arriana . She is fabulous and really listens to what I am looking for but still gives me advise which has always been welcomed and right. I just paid $45 in Kansas City to have a disappointing cut that left me with nothing I wanted, plus an entire wasted morning. I was given Paul, who I was told was the senior stylist. I arrived with a minute to spare. Parking in the rear is a huge help. The building is a house on the end of a residential neighborhood. There are products for sale on every level. The service was helpful enough & I was asked if I wanted a beverage, and had a hot green tea in a paper cup, not fancy but it's hot tea and good enough. It was on Friday afternoon at 2:00. The place was packed and mostly middle aged and older women clients, but plenty of 20-30-something clients also to keep it mixed up. I saw a truly great looking older woman hair cut & style go out the door. Paul listened to me & looked at the couple of photos I showed him, and he did exactly what I wanted, to perfection. It kinda took my breath away how effortlessly he did it. I have several cowlicks, and lots of fine wavy hair that isn't doing as well in a long style as when I was younger (I'm in my mid-50's). Paul did a style that was as "precise" and stylish as a couple of top-rated stylists I saw who were rated in the "Best Of" in Dallas and Kansas City. He took out bulk, make the hairline tight around my ears, kept the back hairline from looking too severe, and had the bangs _exactly_ like the photo and my description. He gave his thoughts on my current color & highlights. I usually look for L'Oreal Professional hair color, but might try the brand they use there (I'm going to keep going to him, and if he keeps doing the same quality of work, I'll always have a good hair day.

That being said, asking for a consultation prior to your actual cut, gives the stylist a chance to understand your hair and your expectation, so she can discuss it.

On my wedding, we had scheduled the groom and one groomsman to go there to get hair done. A simple…read morebraid for the groomsman and a man bun for the groom. They put the least experienced stylist on the groom and it took her an hour and a half to do a man bun!!! I have no idea what I'm doing with hair but I can do one in 30 seconds and not to mention it was the worst man bun I have ever seen, it was a ponytail folded once.....if you are going to call yourself a hairstylist and can't do a man bun I think you are in the wrong business. And due to how clueless they were it made my groom late, he had no time to change or shave or anything. When I called the girl who answered to phone eventually admitted to being the one that was responsible for my now husbands awful experience. She says, "I have never had to do a man bun with long hair before." WHAT!?!? When else would you have to do a fricken manbun in short hair!?!? And then she said she would have to manager call me...NOPE cause the day she said he would, they're closed. So either she lied or she doesn't even know her workplace hours. Finally got in touch with the manager, and we'll nice piece of work there, considering your business is all skill and customer service, he had terrible service skills and was not understanding of what his choice of stylist was responsible for ruining all my ceremony photos and charged him for the worst hair ever. His solution wasn't a sorry or I will re-evaluate my staff or a refund for the embarrassment of there work. No it's excuses and I may talk her about it. Go screw yourself. If you want a good job done I would go here, considering a man bun is difficult, one would assume that a cut and or a color would be far beyond their skill level.
