Vizen owner, Nanou, welcomed us to her little bistro literally with open arms. This little eatery was in walking distance to Chateau Vincennes, our subway stop, and to our time share. In our little week's stay in Vincennes, four miles outside the Paris city limits, this huge, warm hello, great service, amazing food, and personal attention, that was close to gushing, made our week. One of her patrons offered to buy us champagne to toast us Americans in a welcome we were not expecting from Parisians.
We lunched on quiche and salad that was very delicious, and went back for lunch later in the week to try jambone with melon and pear tart to die for. All were amazing, but the memory of hospitality from Nanou, Karima, and Carole (who was fluent in English and translated a lot for us), will live in our hearts forever. In fact, because of our visit to Vinzen at 202 rue de Fontenay, we are considering a year in Paris in Vincennes. We felt that at home.
