Stapleton

Love Your Furniture Again Antiques is my favourite new curio shop. Located in the working class…read moresection of Staten Island's North Shore known as Stapleton - 638 Bay Street, very near the Stapleton Station train stop and not far from the Ferry - the price range is "From two dollars and up," according to the manager. They have great hours too - well suited for working people. Closed on Tuesdays, they are open 11 am to 8 pm on weekdays and from 11 to 6 on weekends. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the items for sale are just terrific. If you want a true antique that is unique and in great shape you may pay a couple of hundred dollars but not thousands. This is not a thrift store and yet it is affordable. What caught my eye were the two very large animals in the window display. Prior to the store opening I shot a photo of the window display, focusing on one of the creatures - this image was a very popular item on flickr. My photo wound up in the "In Explore" group which is a highly sought after honour. I generally get from 200-300 hits on an image and 8-10 favourites - the window display from Love Your Furniture got over 5400 hits and 67 faves. What was the item? A large, pink, jewel encrusted, bird or mammal of some sort. When the store opened I ventured in to see what the creature was - it, and the jewel encrusted golden giraffe that graces the other side of the window display, was apparently part of a carousel at one time. This truly unique item and many more diminutive but equally interesting items await the visitor at this gem of a store. In addition to antiques the store features handmade items by Yana, one of the owners - one such item is a gorgeous decoupage end table. If you are on the Island to check out our great street art - and Stapleton is the epicenter of this activity - stop by Love Your Furniture Again Antiques. Bring your wallet as there is literally something for everyone. If you are looking for something in particular, call the shop at 917.525.6686. Oh, BTW, they restore antiques too! Pink Lady Liquidation - Beautiful Set Up in East Brunswick, NJ

Pink Lady Liquidation

As a regular attendee of estate sales hosted by Pink Lady, I can't help but leave a positive review…read morefor them. First and foremost, their pricing is consistently reasonable and fair. They strike a very nice balance between setting prices that will ensure items sell without giving them away. They also are easy to negotiate with if you take the right tact. I also appreciate the organization of their sales. Items are thoughtfully arranged, prices are clearly labeled, and it's evident that the team takes great care to prep the homes. They have a consistent system with their lists on the morning of the first day and move people in fairly quickly. What truly sets this company apart though, is their outstanding staff. Their team is not only knowledgeable but also incredibly pleasant to interact with. They are always ready to assist, offering insights into the history and value of items. Their warmth and professionalism make every visit enjoyable. I especially enjoy speaking with the gentleman who usually oversees the tools. Five Stars!

My estate sale with Pink Lady Liquidation, LLC and Sarah Oliveri was one of the worst customer…read moreexperiences of my life. Sarah was difficult to communicate with (often did not return calls, texts or emails) and when she was at my home the day of sale preparation, she was rude and impatient. She raised her voice with me more than once and it was all I could do not to ask her to leave and not return. She took jewelry and watches with her that day without telling me and of course I had to consider the worst-case scenario, which was that one of the several crew members there that day may have taken them. I texted her to ask about this later that evening when I realized they were gone, and later the next morning she let me know they had them to research further and metal test. No apology for causing me concern, or acknowledgement that perhaps one should not do that without notifying the home owner. She neglected to mention additional parking near-by in a small business lot in the sale listing, despite my telling her that the owner had granted permission for use during the sale (my street is short with little parking available). A few days after the sale ended (low turnout and poor sales) I received a bill via email showing that I owed her over $600 as the minimum threshold of $2000 for sales had not been met. No personal note with that, text or phone call. Lots of lovely items gone as if they were given away; $2000 is a low threshold for vintage, antique, collectible items, suitcases, bedding, table linens and cookware along with some jewelry, several nice resin watches and some furniture. The only bright spot was that the two crew members who were there during the two days of the sale, Stacey and Casey, were sweet, kind and communicative. I was able to sell many of the leftover items online and more than made up for the financial loss caused by this estate sale, so that was a big help. I have read many positive reviews for Pink Lady and it's as if people are talking about services and an owner that I did not utilize. Reminded me eerily of the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and you can deduce which one I got! Someone mentioned that Sarah was having health issues, and if true I would not wish that for anyone. But regardless of what was going on in her personal life, there is no excuse for the unprofessional behavior and conduct I encountered. I encourage others to exercise their due diligence and explore other and better options that are out there.

To Garden State Estate Sales and the assistants at the recent West Caldwell NJ sale…read more Addressing the gentleman who introduced himself as Robert. Robert appears to have been the ringleader at this sale, he was very generous with his valuable time while sharing with me his expert knowledge referring to the specific vintage and condition of two pieces of furniture. He gave us a free education regarding the importance of dovetailing on dresser drawers. Robert noticed my aunt and carrying the two bulky and heavy pieces to our car and he promptly instructed an assistant to carry these heavy items to our car (we've been to sales before, no one EVER HELPS to load your purchases) his kind gesture was appreciated. We will welcome the opportunity to again shop at one of his sales in the future, and I would highly recommend this company to anyone I know in need of such services, Robert is capable, caring, and attentive! Thank you Robert for your sincere concern and professionalism. Mari

We really do not know what happened to everything, maybe he just took the big money items and sold them elsewhere to make more money. So disappointed and disgusted, would not recommend

I went to an estate sale this morning that was run by Treasure Chest Estate Sales. I love estate…read moresales, but it seems like when they're directed by companies rather than individuals, the quality decreases. PROS: The company seems to run very professionally and is attentive to Covid guidelines. They only allowed a few people in at a time, masks required, good signage, out front, etc. CONS: Most things were not priced to sell so much as they were priced for profit. Also, a staff member was with you in every room kind of hovering (if they weren't initially in the room, they followed you into the room). As a customer, this felt awkward and uncomfortable.

Amazing at everything starting with the beautiful, polite, and professional staff. Their team member was in every room and when I had a question regarding the stuff they were selling, I was getting a detailed description of an item. The staging was professional and very organized. The prices were reasonable, all the items were priced with clear price tags, just some of them were missing the tags, but team members who were working in every room were very helpful in providing prices and descriptions of an item. The company offers moving services for purchased items and it was very helpful for me when they delivered a piece of furniture that I bought. They were very professional with Covid guidelines. Taking temperatures to every attendee, providing sanitizers, gloves, masks, and shoe covers. All was just perfect!
