Always knew it was here but don't drink alcohol except for certain occasions. Decided to come here and see what they had to offer. I believe the last time I came was for Japanese beer. The place is hidden below street level so do know you have to walk down and back up some stairs. Once you are inside it just opens a beautiful sight of varieties of all types of alcohol. I walked in with whisky in mind. I was approached by a kind lady (sorry I didn't ask her name) but then she realized I needed more help. Here came Dave, who explained so many facets of whisky and the different regions and also the ones that aren't well known but are great! The prices vary so know your budget and ask. They wrapped the bottle of whisky Tullibardine "the Murray" is what was recommended so we shall see how it tastes when my father opens it up. Thank you to the friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's really a small shop but they have a ton of variety and I hear the owner was the pioneer that brought in a lot of French wines or wines in general that others do not have! Small gem of a place. I'll definitely return

It'd been a while since the last visit. Still wonderful and found some good wines. Would love to come back for the tasting held on weekends.

Vintage Wine Cellar is the best wine shop in Hawaii and home to the such a large variety of unique bottles. The team members here are so helpful and knowledgable about all the different varietals and pairings. I was able to pick out a rare small growers champagne and a wonderful pinot noir from Russian River that had such a great story behind its origin. They can help you select a bottle within your budget to go perfectly with whatever you are enjoying it with. Make sure to plan your visit and give yourself extra time just to browse through their huge selection. This is your one stop shop for any celebratory bottles or if you're on the hunt for a specific and hard to find spirit.

A good friend has been telling me about the Vintage Wine Cellar for many years because we both are tru winos. Haha. I finally went and to my pleasant surprise it's is just what the name is Vintage. And not just wines but a great selection of port, single malt proper Whisky, and even mugi soju and sake. You can't go wrong. But don't enter this dignified cellar expecting to find two buck chuck or other low end designer wines that are full of stabilizers and chemical balancers like ménage of the toes. You got it n So this is the place for excellent vintage wines and the prices well are respectable and fairly honestly priced. You need to do your homework or understand exactly what you want. The staff are super friendly and helpful also understand the products. So get on in. I'll be back.

Smooth with a hint of peatiness.

Came here a few times to buy whiskey. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but it appears that they have a huge selection of both wine and liquor. I love smoked or peaty flavored whiskey. Most of my friends had what I love and that just means more me for lol. Anyways, I loooove Laphroaig and I've tried almost everyone that I could find. I don't remember his name because it's not a common name, but he had a strong accent lol. He was crazy knowledgable about my type of whiskeys and recommended a few bottles so I've a few of them at a decent price. Ardberg is another favorite of mines, but he recommended Lagavulin which was also peaty and Oban which wasn't so peaty, but was smooth. I think this store is lucky to have that dude cause he can tell you what they taste like and where it originated from. This little shop is located in the Makiki Village next to Peppas in these glass doors that lead to the bottom floor. I'll definitely be back.

My first bottle. Four Roses single bbl. Should be smooth...

Now that a friend has started me on collecting bourbon, I've been on the hunt for good and collectable bottles. This shop is surprisingly big once you get inside their cellar location. Though titled as a wine shop, they carry a dizzying amount of spirits as well. Being a bourbon neophyte, I asked the salesperson about several of their bourbon selections and he was very knowledgeable about each label. I settled on the Four Roses single barrel. Although not a unicorn bottle like Blanton's or VanWinkle, the Four Roses single bbl looked like a solid mid-priced choice. There were at least 2 dozen other bourbon to choose from, with some bottles over $100. The salesperson described the ways I could best enjoy it, the drawbacks of higher alcohol bourbon, and the smoothness of it compared to other bourbon. All in all, I was pleased with the service I received. Now...on to my other potential bourbon stores! More to come soon...

Young's Wine & Spirits has a great selection of the two noted alcohols in the name, but they also have many others: soju, seltzers, RTD cocktails, and for me, an amazing selection of beer! It also feels like a convenience store, with essential food items, lots of snacks, and tobacco products. They also sell ice and have an ATM. They regularly rent out a stall in the parking lot to a food truck, which changes periodically. If something interesting is making food that day, it's also easy to pickup dinner. For me, I come for the beer selection. They get a variety of 6-packs, 4-packs, cases, and singles from mostly US breweries. I really appreciate their large selection of local breweries, most of which are available in single cans if you'd like to try a few. Prices are competitive with stores selling similar products. The owners have been super friendly and welcoming to me, both on Instagram and in the store. I appreciated having a few free sample cans to try on more than one occasion. Cheers! It's easy to get here, off Piikoi near Safeway with its own small lot. It's also easy to walk around the fence if you're doing your grocery shopping and want to add in some libations.
