I own a lot of stuff so when I travel I try to find small little treasures, coffee or some unique clothing as my travel souvenirs. Since I was already at the bakery next door I saw the rack from Gypsy Vintage. I'm like a bee to honey when it comes to a sale rack at a vintage spot. I found a sweet, gothy net sweater. Perfect for the goth in the fall. I popped in to see what else there was too offer. There is tons of rad stuff here. So many unique and curated pieces. I made it to the "belt" section. They really long chains with embellishments. They looked more like necklaces to me. And that's exactly what I got. My new necklace is a chain with gorgeous circles that have metal tassels attached. So fun! I've been wearing it constantly since I purchased it. I also like that the clerk pointed out the cute cuddle puddle under the counter. There was a medium size pup with two tiny kittens! Adorbs! It was almost too cute. I highly recommend coming to this section of town and stoping in the spots in a two block radius. I loved it. It's a little less traveled but has everything you are looking for. read more

SCAMMED ME! I went here to buy a costume for halloween and I saw this two piece red latex set being sold for $80. The owner gave me the whole spiel about how it was a true vintage set from the 70s. I tried it on and it fit perfectly, so she told me that it looked really good on me and she was willing to sell it to me for $55. I bought it. I took it home and guess what? That shit was from PRETTYLITTLETHING, being sold for $11!! They didn't even take the prettylittlething tag off of the inside. I went back to get a refund and the woman at the counter told me I couldn't return it unless it was to the woman who sold it to me...?!?!? Conveniently, she said she had no clue when the woman was coming back and that it "might be a while" Pt. 2 - This also happened to my friend i went in to shop, found a cute little "vintage" catsuit. i bought it for $88 dollars. i took it home, check the tag, it was FASHION NOVA! literally no. Stopped by here today after grabbing breakfast next door at the bakery. They had a sidewalk sale going on and I also went inside. They have a collection of vintage-esque clothing and also accessories. I ended up buying two pins at $1.25 each, a Golden Girls one and a Princess Bride one. I asked for a receipt and the cashier rang it up but said something like she needed to add tax if I wanted a receipt... Weird. I also paid in cash because she didn't want to ring up my credit card for a small purchase. They had ONE rack that said "curvy girls rack" ... Better than having no plus-size clothes at all I guess. read more

My favorite thing to do with my best friend is go vintage/thrift shopping. She just moved down here and Gypsy World was one of our first stops in the city. It was such an incredible experience. The woman working was such a joy and a help. The selection- INCREDIBLE. We both found pieces that were life changing. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is awesome. Beyond awesome!! We were greeted at the door by Gypsy girl, the shops friendly furry namesake, and proceeded to wander through the decades. The shops music was on point (80's!) and the selection was fantastic - early 1900's through some 80's pieces. Clothing, accessories, and various beauty/vanity items galore! My friend and I really enjoyed this store and walked away with some lovely casual items for very reasonable prices. There are plenty of gorgeous pieces for special events too, and lots of accessories and jewelry to look through. We found the bolo ties to be especially unusual and fun to look at. Beyond the beautiful clothing, the woman who helped us and another woman who I believe was the owner were very friendly. At checkout we were given a handy little guide to all the vintage stores in the area, which was a really nice touch. I would recommend this store to any vintage lovers visiting the area. read more

I found Gypsy World on accident. I was taking a Sunday stroll along the Starland District, and saw some beautiful sweaters in a discount bin. I ended up buying a blue cashmere and a grey V neck for less than $30. I was so in love with my finds, I didn't even stop to look at what was inside of the store. On another Sunday stroll, the storefront invited me in, once more, but this time, I actually took a good look at what the store had to offer. The shop was organized by era, which was super helpful. It's kind of overwhelming how many awesome finds there were. Which leads me to my 3 stars. Maybe it was an off day, but I didn't find the store clerk much help. I was the only one in the store, and she didn't greet me, or explain the store layout. It took me a while to see the decade organization. By the time we did speak, I had lost a little of the enthusiasm I came in with, and scuttled off to finish my stroll. read more
