I've only been living here since last year, but I'm so very happy to be here. Every single day I…read morelook around at my place and give thanks that I chose to live here. I was widowed a few years ago, and could no longer maintain our house of 39 years on 1/2 acre. I'd looked into other places, but after having a tour at Westshire, I knew this was it for me. I have friends who've lived here for many years, and I know they're happy, so I had no doubts. There are plenty of activities and some of my friends just love them, although I haven't been active in any. However, I know I can at any time if I want. Community lunches (optional) are served twice a week, and periodic health check services, etc. are available. So, you can choose how active you'd like to be. Personally, I love people and am so glad to stop and chat, but I also cherish solitude. I live in one of the condo units, and have never been bothered by noise from other units. My balcony overlooks the woods, and I love watching the turkeys, sandhill cranes, deer and so many birds. More often than not I 'share' the nature path with the cranes and turkeys. In the winter when the leaves are off the trees, I've got a perfect view of the lake, and can see the ice fishing shanties. I just love it! And I was thrilled to watch Independence Day fireworks from my own living room and balcony, close up and personal! Wow! As I've lived in Delavan for 40 years, one of the pluses for me is to walk to my bank a block away. So I've got the country and town together. I'm in my mid-70's, and I accept that I'll be getting frailer as time passes. There are home health services through the Aurora and Mercy health systems, so that's reassuring to me. I've read the other review here. As I haven't been here long enough to know what happened with the party who had such a nightmare receiving the end of contract money, I would assume this was a one-time debacle, as I've never read or heard of lawsuits against Westshire for reneging on their contracts. This is a nonprofit organization with legal checks and balances, so whatever happened, I sympathize with the party, but can't imagine it's an ongoing problem. Let me end by suggesting that you come and take a tour. Bring a list of questions, concerns, etc. to ask the management. And especially, meet some residents and ask them for their opinions of this place. What do they like about it? And what don't they like (nothing is perfect, so see if there are any grumbles). That would tell you more than any review could possibly state, and you'd then have a much clearer idea of whether you'd like to live here. As for me? This is my beloved home from now the end of my days!

Tish Lux is the exclusive broker handling the leasing. She is completely unresponsive during the process and won't respond to phone calls or emails from past residents or their family inquiring about the status of the re-leasing efforts and their money. In our case, we just learned that they had re-leased my mother-in-law's condo sometime in the fall of 2016 and never sent her the money she was due or contacted her. When we finally sent a threatening letter we got an apology and check in April. We had called Tish numerous times in the intervening months without a return call, yet they claimed they didn't know how to reach us. If this is how they treat a person who used to volunteer every week in the office with Tish, I can't imagine how they would treat a regular resident.

Review: Very disappointed in Rosewood Manor. They made several promises and they did not keep them…read more The advertise they have a nurse on staff. They do have a nurse on staff but not on staff at Rosewood. The nurse on staff works at their other facility which is approximately 30 minutes away from Rosewood. They did not give pureed food when a doctors order was in place for pureed food (This went on for several months). They try to cut costs by not turning on A/C when it is 82 in the facility. They had a medication error and the patient received a med for an additional month after the med was discontinued. A family member found the error and corrected it, not the facility. There is only one staff member on duty at a time and they go outside to smoke, talk on the phone and let the dog out. They are outside for up to 20 minutes and nobody is inside with the residents. They aren't concerned with safety. They transfer patients without belts and with only one person when two people are needed. The same resident fell out of bed twice in one month. They did not take precautions to prevent this. The family members had to make changes to help ensure the residents safety. Activities were not changed to fit the ability of the resident. During the activities the staff member is texting on their phone and not paying attention to the residents. The residents 'adult diapers' are not changed on a regular basis as they say they are. On several occasions residents have been found with urine soaked through their clothes and onto their chair. The staff are very impatient with the residents.

I have witnessed the CNA's immediately discard any dirty "products" from the room and area. Another thing I also found impressive is they are not only concerned about protecting themselves from bacteria, germs, etc, but they are concerned about the patient as well. I've seen them discard plastic gloves if they cleaned a patient and wouldn't touch anything else. The staff would remove them and put on another pair before touching anything eliminating the spread of germs to other areas. Very impressive! While I had a few issues, just about everything I addressed to the staff, supervisors, head nurse, were all rectified almost immediately. I had found pills in my aunts bed and asked them not to disperse any meds to my aunt without a family member in the room (I was there 24/7). That was the only thing that seemed to fall on deaf ears and was not rectified. I know it's impossible to press your "call"button and have someone respond immediately, but the CNA's did their absolute best and I applaud every single one of them for the outstanding care my great aunt received. They offered some great activities and the staff seemed to genuinely care about each and every patient. Great food! Wouldn't mind being at the facility if I had to. But it is best to be an advocate for your loved ones and be there as much as you possibly can.

Kerry asked a lot of questions to help narrow down our options. She recommended several places to help us determine what size/feel would work best for our situation. My father-in-law is happy with his new home and we appreciate Kerry's help.

Having her return home was no longer an option; which led me to quickly get to up to speed on senior living options, mostly on my own. I found her a place & moved her in all before her release. While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Almost 6 months in, a different set of doubts & worries took over. Did I make the right call, could she live somewhere more affordable, would she outlive her money, etc. I don't even recall what search term led me to Senior Living Experts, but I'm grateful. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. She thought where my mom was at was the best option in terms of cost, desired location and care needs addressed, but would do the research and circle back. We also discussed the care she received currently and provided a few suggestions. As promised, Rebecca followed up and confirmed her initial assessment. Yes, I'll still worry about her finances, but I now have a better understanding of the landscape and what comes should her care needs increase. If I had a do over, I would have started with Senior Living Experts, they are amazing!
