We had another person with us as well and we had taken the last 2 rooms in the place. But, they called all around to find our other person a room. Which they did just one block away. We had a great room very clean and a nice clean bathroom. Lots of hot water in the quite big shower. My Parents experianced the same thing. They served a wonderful Breakfast in the morning, along with Pots and Pots of Coffee. Even a pitcher of milk and they had warmed it. Great place to stay. Wonderful staff.

I was met with a friendly & personal greeting on arrival -- which was also prompt and efficient. The courtesy didn't end there either. All the staff were polite & helpful. The hotel is on the 2nd floor but it is a short walk up (lift available if needed). The secure courtyard is well maintained and the rooms are clean as a whistle. There are moderate toiletries, mini refrigerator and buffet continental breakfast until 9:30am. I felt very comfortable here, so much so it felt like a temporary apartment. Only issue was the pillow. In the single room there's only one and extremely flat. I kept forgetting to ask for another one but hopefully this review will catch their attention & improvements made. This is not a 4 star hotel but it does deserve this 4 Star review.

Our room was simple (three twin beds) but we had everything that we needed for our one night stay. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Shower towels were really small but good water pressure. Lots of lighting in the room and multiple plug ins for phones and electronics that needed charging. The front desk had well stocked shelves with snacks, microwaveable meals, drinks - both soft drinks and wine. They also had a large table downstairs in their lobby. There is a shuttle to the airport available for about 4 Euro per person. Be sure to pre-schedule it with the front desk. You prepay for the shuttle ride and they give you a voucher ticket to give to your driver before you get in the van to the airport. Hotel is right next to a mall with a food court and plenty of stores. Multiple restaurants within a two block walking distance.

All I saw was a sign for "Hotel Dorica", which made me wonder whether I booked a bogus hotel. Turned out, they were both located in the same building. Viminale View is located on the 3rd floor. It's a brand spanking new boutique hotel (opened for about a month) so everything is very bright, modern, and clean. Our room was surprisingly very big. High ceilings, huge bed, nice balcony, and a random tub in the corner of the room. Very spa-like, indeed. They even have a sauna room where you can reserve for 60 mins for 15 euros. My husband and I spent four nights here and I always looked forward coming back here to rest up. They also have free wifi and daily breakfast. Their breakfast is ok with basic bread, croissants, cold cuts, cereal, and fruits. They also have some leftover cakes and pies, which I found to be a bit strange. No one touched them. There was actual table service where the staff serves you drinks. For a small start-up hotel, I'd say they are doing a great job. Everyone is really friendly and accommodating. Apparently, their reception desk closes at 10pm and opens at 8am. So if you happen to be out and about outside of those timeframes, no worry because they give you a key to open the front door. I remember I had to check-out before 8 am and the receptionist allowed me to check-out the day before as long as I paid all the taxes and service charges. She even asked if I needed breakfast to be prepared in advance since they don't serve until 7 am. If I ever come back to Rome, I'll be coming back to this hotel for sure.

There's no key for the front door of the hotel - which I wish they had because anyone can just walk in and go straight to your room. I guess giving out three actual keys (no key card) seems like a lot though. We stayed in a triple which had one queen and one twin size bed. Ceilings are really high and room is spacious. Love the french doors that open up to a terrace. I didn't step out to the small area though. The tube inside the room was weird. There's also a shower and a separate toilet room. Bed was comfortable but the fan/ac kept blowing towards the bed. I think the rooms need an update/deep cleaning though. There was black stains/mold on the corners of the shower. Room came with three slippers. Breakfast didn't look great so we just bought some fruits and snacks from PamLocal or Coop which is both a block away.

Our trip started in a less than ideal fashion and we experienced several hiccups on our way to the hotel from the airport, but immediately upon arrival, the staff made us feel so welcome and even congratulated us on our anniversary. The whole experience felt so personal, and everyone continued to be so helpful throughout our short stay - in excellent English, even! We were lucky and got upgraded for both of our nights - the first night to a first floor room with an adorable patio and the second night to an upper level room with incredibly high ceilings. Both rooms were quite large by European standards with spacious bathrooms and relatively soft beds compared to the rock-hard norm. The location of this small boutique hotel may not be ideal for all tourists - it's not walking distance to Roma Termini or to any major attraction or nightlife, but it was pure perfection by our standards. In a quiet, more residential part of town within short walking distance to several bus lines as well as a handful of less-congested/touristy dining areas. Villa Duse was without a doubt the highlight of our Rome experience. They graciously allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel for a short time on checkout so that we could do a small amount of sight-seeing before we hopped a train to Florence in the afternoon, which we greatly appreciated! The entrance to the small hotel lobby is through a grand gate that opens to a gorgeous courtyard complete with a water feature and several levels of terrace seating that I wish we had time to use. With the pleasant weather, it would have been a delightful place to enjoy a panini and bottle of wine while relaxing under the shade of the trees. Despite the terrace area being accessible from the main entry, there are half walls and enough foliage to make most of the seating areas semi-private and perfect for such a romantic picnic! I shouldn't fail to mention the delicious breakfast, included with our room and served in the lower portion of the hotel below the entry level. Mellow tunes (both English and Italian) play over a small stereo near a buffet of pastries, tarts, meats, cheeses, a quiche, and several cereals. Coffee is served to order by the stealth waiter, and it's nice to not have the constant frothing of milk disrupt your calm start to a busy Italian day. Both still and sparkling water are available as well as several types of juice. Never was it more crowded than a few couples, talking in muted voices about the plans for the day - maps in hand, of course :-) A fantastic, relaxing hotel that starkly contrasts the congested, touristy, bustling city housing it.

It's sleek, bright, spacious, and I think the remodeling is a respectful nod to its former use as the rooms do have an air of austerity to them. As I understand, it's a former convent, and nuns live above the ground floor. Guest rooms are all on the third level (Italian 2nd floor), but the numbering gets a little confusing in the elevator since it seems to follow the American convention while your keycard uses Italian numbering (so 1 is lobby not 0; 3 is rooms though your keycard says 200s). ACCESS// Walking here from the metro (either Bologna/S.Agnese) is about a 10 minute walk. The neighborhood seems to be where the embassies are. Entrance is via a locked gate. You buzz in every time (no problem since front desk is manned 24 hrs). You're also not allowed to take your keycard with you; you must hand it in every time you go out and ask for it when you return. STAY// There are only 22 rooms with a max 60 person capacity. So it's a very quiet stay. Although I saw families at breakfast, I never heard anyone when I was inside my room except for the door closing or water running in the room next to mine. Only noise you do hear is from the street, which can be pretty noisy. As for breakfast, I thought it was a decent spread, better than a simple continental as there were cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, and fruits in addition to cereal and pastries. In-room, there's a mini fridge but no microwave. Shower drain can also be slow. Because of its design, it's very easy to clog. Though they were quick to fix it when we told them we had a problem with ours. All the reviews I read online said staff were really friendly. We didn't get this treatment. We also don't look European. However, after daily greetings, front staff did go from being just polite to being friendly. The only one this didn't apply to was the head housekeeper, who always just stared at us in a disapproving way every time we walked by. No amount of buongiornos changed that. But I noticed she gave Italian tourists the same disapproving suspicious stare, so at least she was consistent. Another thing to note is that towels are changed only every 3 days, more frequently it's extra. However, rooms are still tidied every day so your bed will be made every time you come back and floors cleaned. I got way better value than I expected here, but I would hesitate to come back. For the same reasons that make this place a great stay, it can also make it a bit uncomfortable if you're sensitive to scrutiny.
