But then, I returned recently while visiting family, and had a wonderful experience. The tenant greeted us warmly, and explained which pieces were for sale and which were only for rental. She gave us some recommendations for other shops in the area as well. She was just so sweet! I tried on a selection of items, and settled on a vintage red mod dress. It was fairly priced, at about $50, and the dress was in good condition. I packed it in my suitcase, and flew home to the east coast... when I put it on for work for the first time, I felt something stabbing into my hip! I took the dress off, flipping it inside out. I pulled open the side seam allowance, and there was a huge, rusty metal clothes pin in the seam. It stabbed me! I love the dress, but I was disappointed that the shop didn't spot the pin at intake. It could have been dangerous! Overall I have positive feelings about the shop, but if you purchase second hand from here, please be sure to look over your clothing before wearing it. I'd hate for someone else to be stabbed!

And…read morenow I've collected yet a third: a jovial gray-haired gentleman who gave me advice on caring for my freshly-cleaned shiny, sparkly wedding ring that I can completely ignore--but was truly funny. But we need to work backward. After 40 years of marriage and weight gain, I needed my wedding ring resized. Two jewelers I checked with estimated a 2-3 week turnaround, longer with the 1st store since the jeweler was on vacation. My wife looked online, found Two Sisters and saw the business had great reviews. The reviews were right. Dropped the ring off yesterday and picked it up today. Not only was my ring perfectly resized (which was determined yesterday by a very friendly lady behind the counter) but thanks to an expert cleaning my ring shines and sparkles just like on the day my bride slipped it onto my finger at our wedding. When I picked up the ring, the lady wasn't there but there was a friendly young man and...the gray-haired male comedian. His advice for caring for the shiny ring? On a sunny day when I'm driving, hang my hand with the wedding ring out the car window, point it at the other cars and blind them with my bling. I intend to use that. Believe me, he had other suggestions, one potentially painful but might just work. This is our go-to jewelers now. It's a great store doing fine work, and with at least one person doing standup as you pay the bill. What more could you ask for?

This used to be a good store to buy building parts. However over a year ago, they changed managers…read moreand now the store has gone downhill. It is now just a junk parts store where they don't inventory to scrap parts not selling and keep items where you can find them. They also changed sales personnel who are now not helpful and the sales clerks are rude and unfriendly. Their prices are now extremely high, almost like retail like Lowes. The previous renters were long-time favorites in the junk store arena, and I was so sorry to see…read morethem close, though I did score some great items for next-to-nothing in their blow-out sales. Almost before they'd moved out, Abraham's moved in. And I find it quite a wondrous place to hunt for oddments and geegaws that never cost much. Furniture is at practically give-away prices. I got a whole mess of Depression era saucers off their 50% off table and they'd already been priced cheaply. I always look forward to another visit. They're apparently genuinely charitable as well, though Charity Navigator does not rate them, likely because too small. Their Facebook page is very in-your-face obnoxiously religious so did not win a Like from me, but the store itself doesn't impose their jesussiness, they're helpful and professional without peddling superstition to the world. I'm just happy to find useful or amusing stuff in areas of my interest and never too expensive to buy it right then and there. But it appears that if you are truly in desperate financial straits, you can shop here and pay nothing. For a nice piece of greatly needed furniture you simply couldn't pay for, $0 is a truly winning price. In that case they do impose their religion on you. Their website says that before you can get free stuff you have to attend a one-hour worship and they'll tell you all about JEEEEEE zusss. Very obnoxious indeed, and very unlike St Vinny's which does its good deeds demanding nothing of you except that your need be legitimate. I give it top rating not for tidiness or superior stock and certainly not because they're superstitious types who think they have a big friendly invisible buddy nearby. The sole reason for the rating is I keep finding stuff there that I like and I want and is affordable. That's the reason I visit thrift stores and Abraham's fulfills that purpose.
