We are past most warranty issues and we are completely happy and totally in love with our home. We have spent more time at home than we ever thought we would and have loved every minute of it. We designed this house exactly the way we needed it with 4 kids and 2 dogs. The very best decision we made was having Westbrooke build our dream home. The quality of materials and workmanship is outstanding. What really excels is Allen's communication. After dealing with 2 other builders first, the communication with Westbrooke was the defining measure. Another defining measure was the contract. I didn't want to sign until I had a contract attorney familiar with home building take a look after a bad experience with a different builder. The attorney told me that the Westbrooke Contract was a good contract to sign and looked after the interests of both the builder and the homeowner if things were to ever have to go to court.  We had the very best experience building with Westbrooke. Every idea we had Allen gave thoughtful consideration, and even when he knew it wasn't a good idea, he held our hand to show us how it could work or explained why it's not going to work. We trusted them to be the experts and their trust was well earned. Building a house is hard. We went through many ups and downs over a 3 year period. When we finally found Westbrooke, the process went smoother than we could have imagined. They were even able to get us into our home a month earlier than expected when we had lease issues where we were living. It's an issue specific to our situation and yet Allen and his crew were able to make it work. Thanks again to Allen and his crew. Our dream home is here and we couldn't be happier.

He has great communication skills, always keeping up with us via email or text. He had two other men he worked with and they were fast and polite. As a woman, I've felt uncomfortable being alone with or I've been condescended to by other contractors. I never felt this way with Elias and his team. That's worth a lot to me. We hired Quality Construction to install drywall and insulation in our basement. It was done fast and they did a good job. He was accommodating when we had to have them break for an electrician to come in. It was done in about three days. One of the guys accidentally broke a lamp and Elias offered to reimburse us for it. He's a stand-up guy and he does a great job.

Sturgis Phillips came out the day I contacted him and assessed my situation, providing options with…read morepro's and con's and his recommendations. He was the second contractor to come out and by far the most open and reasonable. While he doesn't even see internet postings (never heard of yelp!), everything he told me was information that I'd verified through my own experiences or recent internet searches for equipment and situations, and was in complete agreement. I selected Phillips to do the work at a more than $2500 cost savings (the first contractor was unreasonably high in price even considering the equipment brand). I selected a 16 SEER rated 2 ton Goodman combination with variable speed fan and programmable thermostat. The Goodman's (while previously not a favorite of anyone - myself included) have come a long way over recent years, with an industry standard full 10yr warranty on the equipment plus an exceptional lifetime (for current owner) warranty on the compressor. The work was completed on a Saturday for exactly the quoted price, and I couldn't possibly be happier with the workmanship, cleanliness or results. Anyone in the King George, VA area should contact Phillips prior to having their work done. They have more than 30 years of experience in the business (I don't know exactly how much) and are just wonderful folks to deal with.

Noting the business name and the description, I thought I was calling a handy girl. They are a licensed contractor - yay - but really do not do handy work. It sounded like I may have offended the person who answered, as the work I need done includes hanging wainscoting and a owner's suite bathroom refresh. After describing what I wanted, I was then told, "I am a licensed contractor. You need a handyman." My one star is because (1) the person who answered was rude/rough with her response; (2) after giving me the, "I'm a licensed contractor..." response, she then told me she was booked until mid-November....why does that matter if my work is too menial. I refuse to beg someone to take my money.
