Removed a lot of the fuss. 2. The wineries chosen were really nice. We went to La Grange, Blue Valley, and Aspen Dale. Aspen Dale was the most thorough and interesting, although the view at Blue Valley was photo central. No shade to La Grange though, they were nice too. 3. Doni, the owner/driver, is really nice and engaging. She called the day before to confirm, and was just really cool overall. It's a new company, so I'd expect them to maybe add winery spots or more options, but for the money, it's fun and a good value. (Also, it sure as hell beats driving out there ourselves. Just sayin'.)

What distinguishes Ashwin from, say, just Googling a question about wine is that Ashwin actually has a point of view that he isn't shy about sharing (like his opinions about the homogenization of the big champagne brands vs. grower-made champagnes). Especially during the time of COVID, his Zoom classes are a welcome distraction--and an excuse to drink more wine. Totally recommend his classes as a fun group event.

So you pay extra for that. I've been on about six cruises with this line, and the one completed I have this time for the same one I have every time. The service is at best mediocre. For example: - two of us ordered sodas, and after everyone else got their drinks we started half hours. We were told that happened the carbonation wasn't working on our deck so that during had to come up from the deck above ours. I waited another 10 minutes and the wages came by and said how about I give you something that doesn't have carbonation in it? It's pretty sad that you have a cruise and you can't serve a soda - if you get up and leave your drink for even half a second they swoop in to clean up the glasses. The drinks aren't cheap and if you just bought one and put it down to go talk to somebody to come back and it's gone it's quite annoying. - nobody on the staff and seem to know anything about the special thing that was going on. It didn't know when it would start where we should go or anything about it. If you're running a special event the people pay a premium for your staff should at least know the who what when where and how - when the special session with the TV guest stars started the sound system wasn't working very well at all and even though they have microphones you can hear anything they had to say because the speakers above us weren't on - they left the bar open during the question and answer session with the TV cast and so we have a Non-Stop din of people in the back of the room that made it even harder to hear - they did not do a very good job of keeping the food on the buffet stocked. The salad, which was the first thing you get to in the line, was empty when I got to it and still had not been filled by the time I reached the end of the line Not quite service, but something related is how incredibly loud it is when you are eating. You have hundreds of people in that enclosed space eating your plates clicking you have service staff walking around. So that's loud enough. But then you have a DJI who's supposed to be playing music and insists on talking all the time and no one I mean no one could understand what the heck he was saying because it was so loud and their PA system is so terrible. We all sat there saying we wish he would just shut up and play music Ask for the food everyone said it was good. Not great, but tasty and good. There were no complaints about the food at all. So if you go on one of these cruises and really want to enjoy yourself get your own drinks at the bar and not from a waiter or waitress, then eat your food and go up to the top deck as soon as you can and enjoy the breeze and the view.

She was timely and communicated with me ahead of time. Additionally, she was accommodating to my demanding group who needed temperatures adjusted (this was early August) and music selections (she asked if anyone had a playlist). All of the vineyards were immaculate. The last vineyard had not updated their records to reflect our late additions, but that was not on DiVine. Excellent local educational experience regarding revolutionary maritime history…read more We reserved time for our homeschool group (grades PreK to 5th) to tour a replica of the "Providence" one of the first ships that John Paul Jones commanded during the American Revolution. The coordination via email was very responsive and amenable. Will Downing is the education director and was able to provide us with student pricing for 12 students and 6 adults, letting 2 adults attend for free. It was a dockside learning experience where we split up in two groups to learn about navigation and life below decks. After both groups swapped we then came together on the main deck to learn about mechanical advantage and knot tying. Finally everyone got a chance to take a look at the "Captain's Quarters". It was about a 2 hour event and everyone had a wonderful time learning about the different maritime subjects and had plenty of time to ask questions. We hope to go back in the spring with our small group and experience some of the sailing activities, hoisting sails, steering and learning how to sail via seaman's eye! Reserve a small group (25 or less people) experience with your students and you will not be disappointed.
