Some unusual but tasty options - venison sausage; old fashioned red rind cheese; and bacon fat (in the spice section) for that little something extra for the cornbread. Quick grab salads and sandwiches available and a delicious banana pudding. Lots of tools and extras to make your barbecue perfect. Meat and 3 are good and they do open early for breakfast. This was my first time being in the area. Nice, friendly atmosphere with southern style items. The portions are large for the price. The pork chops, baked chicken, greens, red beans and rice were really good. Didn't really enjoy the spaghetti and cheese. It was way too oily and needed a tad bit more seasoning. read more

Have heard this place was good so I decided that today I'd drive over and have lunch there. Let me start off with saying the lunch buffet was $9.95 including your drink so the price is great. Today they had fried chicken, gigantic fried pork chips, oven barbecued chicken, smothered liver & onions, grilled sausage links and red beans. They also had rice, green beans, broccoli rice & cheese casserole, mustard greens, corn on the cob. Rolls and cornbread muffins. They had salad bar and dessert bar that was also included in the $.995 price The drinks included were fountain drinks, sweet and unsweetened tea. The mustard greens were very good they were tender and melted in your mouth ! The broccoli rice n cheese casserole had lots of yummy cheese and lots of broccoli I enjoyed I think it was homemade. The cornbread muffins were pretty good as well. The fried chicken was good, not the best I've ever had but it was good. The sausage had a really good flavor and the red beans were good as well. I didn't try the liver & onions but they were going fast so it must of been good. The pork chips also seemed to be popular I should of ate one but there was so many choices. They had 2 cobblers which I think were the frozen types but they had German chocolate cake that was good and fresh fudge ! Stopped in on recommendations from locals. Decided to try it on Saturday night when they have the seafood and ribs buffet for $16.99. On the buffet line was fried chicken, sausage, wet ribs, dry rub ribs, shrimp, crab cakes, fried catfish, hush puppies, crawfish étouffée, green beans, red beans, corn, red beans and rice, salad bar and a dessert bar. Dry ribs and sausage, shrimp, crab cakes, hush puppies, were good. Unfortunately, catfish was cold, didn't care for the étouffée or much else. We were definitely disappointed. This is our first trip to the south, so we were trying many things for the first time. So to be honest I'm not sure if the flavors are typical or not. Will try most everything again, just not here. Could be that we just don't get it. Staff was attentive and friendly. The place is always packed, lots of truckers. We did go back the next day and picked up a rack of their dry rub ribs, they were yummy. read more

Unimpressive. My wife and I made the drive from Baton Rouge for the much-hyped Friday night seafood buffet. What we found was a very small buffet which was quite underwhelming, to be honest. The fried catfish, frog legs, and oysters were good, but the rest of the stuff was pretty blah. The dessert bar was weak, with defrosted Sysco pies; the only legit dessert was the banana pudding. My wife had crab legs, which weren't AYCE and were $7.99 extra. The total price for the two of us was over $50. Sorry, but compared to other similar buffets (House of Seafood in Bush (LA), White's in Husser (LA), Landry's in New Iberia (LA), this one was pretty weak. read more

When your hungry and there isn't anywhere to eat and you pass this place that was PACKED, you know the food has to be good, so we pulled in!
