I attended here in the late 1950's and would very much like to meet someone else that went to school here during that time....

I went to this school for 3 years from 6th-8th grade. The water here is terrible, the condition of…read morethe school is as if a bomb exploded here, all the roofs are broken and unfinished, the walls are covered in some kind of toothpaste and graffiti, the quality of the school is terrible. The toilets here are absolutely hell, they are all dirty with urine, sometimes there is shit on the floor, there are always penises and bad words on the walls. In women's restrooms there is blood and pads everywhere, and there is also hair all over the toilet. I really don't recommend this school to you, almost all the staff are terrible and will treat you badly and the rules are terrible, just like a prison

As a student who attended this school, I can say it's a bad environment. All of the funding goes to…read morethe elementary school and is why the bathrooms are horrible, cramped, smelly and dirty. The walls and floors are made of tiles that mud and dirt can stick to, making it all slippery. The food served there is random slop/gunk. The cafeteria's rotation is bad, one day you'll get beans with watery soft corn kernels thst they expect you to eat with a spoon or you can pick a singular corn dog. The next day your served some pizza in a rectangular shape. The only good thing about the food was the chicken sandwiches that they give out. Theres more food options that can be chosen from, but they're all bad. And for some reason they have a problem with dealing with kids. Lets say there are kids messing around, you're minding your business and then boom, you get questioned by some staff member like your being interrogated by the cia. They suspect you had to do something with the situation, and no matter how much you say you haven't done anything wrong and that you don't know what happened, they don't believe you. You didn't do anything right? Nope, thats when they bring you to the office to bring you into further investigation. They review camera footage and see you just being at the situation so in their eyes you were involved. You can't call your parents because the school will do it for you and start talking about how bad of a kid you are. Then your parents wont believe you. This is what caused all the kids to be rebellious, they would start "riots" throughout the school by yelling and being disruptive. How does the school treat the situation? Removing lunch time from kids. Now a shorter lunch should fix it right? No, kids are even worse. I dont know how it is now but, i heard they dont allow kids to be in groups of 5 or more. And i mean its really sad to see school operate like this. They don't know how to communicate with kids and prevent them from misbehaving. In highschool i've seen someone throw a hard paper ball at the teacher and he just had a short calm talk with a staff member outside the class by the door and not being yelled at. Think about it as a coach giving you advice. After that he was a good kid in class. Being yelled at and being told your parents will know about it makes it all worse. Another thing is the work. unnecessary assignments that's due the next day and takes a long time to finish. Now imagine a student being assigned work for maybe every 4-5 classes because of P.E and their elective (there are 6 periods) Now if that kid misses one assignment they to keep up with the others ones first. Not to mention the classwork that they have, if not finished becomes homework. Now they missed 2 assignments. And then they get home tired, procrastinate, and come to school the next day with more work. Now they are really behind, stressed out, and lazy to finish whats missing. In highschool right now. There is almost 0 homework since i finish it in class. And i can do that because the work is short, easy and simple. Nothing like the teachers said it would be. Another thing would be the kids. They all have this hive-mind personality that starts arguments over opinions, bullying is okay to them, and the moment you speak out against them, they lower your voice by grouping up on you. There's a lot of pointless drama. Everyone loves to start rumors and fights, put words into peoples mouths. Just a lot of immature nonsense. The school doesn't know how to handle bullying and teach social norms. Another thing is that the campus is horrible, they cut down the all the trees that supplied shade other than the trees of the 6th grade side where half of it is anothers schools property. All the 6th graders are on the 8th grade side, which doesn't make sense because when i was a 6th grader i wasn't allowed in the 7th grade or 8th grade side. They put all the grades lunches together which makes the campus crowded. Before they had 3 lunches where all grades were separated by 10 minutes. The library is always loud. The librarian always yells back and makes it worse. They closed the field during lunch which is where all the kids would hangout, play sports. Again making campus more crowded. Some teachers are nice and friendly but others are strict for no reason and ruin your kids day. They can be mean and make your kid quiet. I will say the math teachers are nice people, the history teachers are nice people. The science teachers are mean except for the 7th grade one. And at the end of the day. Im glad im out of that place. Please sign up your kid for homeschool because EVERY middle school is bad. Highschool is better depending on which one.

What could improve Yelp ask? Everything!!!…read more I've worked for this district for over 10 years! Until today!!! I was a very good employee, good reviews and very good with students! At the end of that very toxic one sided work relationship I was denied a formal complaint, un heard, or cared about against a mentally and emotionally abusive teacher (Theresa Bradley) on a daily basis! There isn't an answer, well a logical answer for why she treated me that way but she did! Ive also reported abuse towards students from a IF in her class and got shut down and denied! I I would never and do never suggest or recommend people from applying and will continue to warn any and everyone that will and would ask! They don't care! They don't care about their employees, They don't care about our student! They just don't care about anything other than $! They have some of the most AWESOME teachers, Paras, Admins and campus workers and use and abuse them on a daily! I will miss those people dearly, I will miss those students more! I didn't work for TR for the money (God only knows they don't pay enough!) flipping burgers gets paid more! I simply and whole heartedly worked for this Students! When Ms. K was there they knew someone cared and had their backs! That's the part for me that hurts the most! As a mom I mothered each and every student that came into my life. When your student was with me you knew they were safe and loved! And most of the time very happy! So this is hard, very, very hard! Good bye TR you lost a real one! Sincerely Ms. K forever!!

My son has been brutally emotionally and physically abused by his classmates across three classes and two Twin Rivers Unified schools over the last 3 years. AND NOT ONCE HAS THE SCHOOL ATTEMPTED TO PROTECT MY SON IN ANY REALISTIC OR MEANINGFUL WAY. They make false promises and safety plans with no intentions of following them. My son has been hit, kicked, STABBED with a sharp stick near his eyeballs and SPIT on. He has had to undergo Hepatitis and HIV screenings. Has come home with open bleeding wounds. And the school DOES NOT NOTIFY YOU THAT YOUR CHILD NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION. I am working on moving to a new school district. Your child would be safer enrolled in the infantry over in Bosnia.

Thats as clear as I can say it, they want the school to stay majority Slavic (entirely Slavic if they can) and if you are not Slavic you are not welcome. They can't legally keep you from enrolling but they will make it very clear you're unwanted until you leave.
