However, I had come to the point where I felt that I didn't have many (or any) options anymore with my 2006 Subaru. I can not afford a new car with soaring interest rates and to buy another used car just means I would be inheriting someone else's "unknown headaches!" I NEED my car to perform my job and my Front end components became Dangerous! Seriously, it was about to either leave me stranded on the road or "6-feet Under" it! I decided to listen to my buddies and take my car to Eurotech in Larchmont. IDO and his team are unlike ANY other auto repair shop I have encountered downstate (I have a good 25+ year friend upstate who also is an amazing mechanic, but too far away.) Nevertheless, Ido, Ashley and the Eurotech Team are now my Number One "GoTo" for Any and ALL auto repairs. My car needed A LOT of work. I actually brought it back the following week to do additional unrelated, but desperately needed repairs and there are still some additional things that need to be addressed, but my 2006 Subaru already feels like a much newer car from behind the steering wheel now. You want "Trustworthy?" Go to Eurotech. You want very "Knowledgeable?" Go to Eurotech. You want "Fair Pricing?" Go to Eurotech. You want "Professional?" Go to Eurotech. Are you noticing the theme here? I kid you not! In a single word... "Honorable!" I'm "Old School" and unfortunately "Honorable" is not a word I can use very often anymore these days. I needed to get my car looked at on a Friday morning after a brand new battery died. I suspected a…read moreparasitic draw or some electrical short but needed a professional to confirm. After calling around to various repair shops nearby, Jack's Automotive won my business by assuring me that my vehicle would be received, reviewed, and issues resolved quickly. Nothing about that assertion was true. After the initial phone call, communication from staff and ownership was abysmal. After the third business day of not hearing from anyone at the shop, I called and politely requested a status update. No updates. Nothing. It was as if I had to remind them my car was on their lot. On the fifth day with no report, finally I was begrudgingly assuaged (not very convincingly) that someone would call me by EOD to finally provide a vehicle assessment and potentially review repair cost with me. Unfortunately no one ever did. Needless to say, after waiting six days and finding out my car still had yet to be diagnosed, all confidence in the competency and professionalism of this establishment vanished. It was only after I told them I wanted to take my car elsewhere that "work" was actually completed by their team. Oddly, it took less than two hours after I said I wanted to take my business elsewhere for them to tell me my alternator needed to be replaced. At this point I continued to play along with the charade just to see if I could get an estimate for repair cost. However, it was not a revelation to find out even that was too much to ask. I was repeatedly told that an estimate for cost would be rough at best and in a ballpark and that could be (and would be) more. Honesty, transparency, and being forthcoming with information are clearly not present nor practiced by this business. Yeah, ok... I've digressed. My spidey-senses had been on high alert for several days already and this was the last straw. It took them 6 days (5 business days) and as many phone calls to finally provide the highly dubious diagnosis of an alternator replacement that they couldn't (would not) even price out. I quickly paid the $200 invoice for the non-existent work performed on my vehicle and got out of there as fast as I could. I'm grateful that's all they were able to swindle me for and nothing more. Fortunately, soon after I went with another nearby repair shop who came highly recommended. The experience was night and day. I'm grateful to report my car's electrical issue was finally and rightly fixed. Oh, and wouldn't you know it, surprise, surprise... it was NOT a "bad" alternator! In summary, considering the level of incompetence and rudeness incurred while dealing with Jacks Automotive, I've been compelled to warn anyone considering using this business. AVOID TAKING YOUR CAR HERE AT ALL COST!!! I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for reliable automotive repairs. Negative reviews like this come from real people who've had real world experience. Do yourself a favor and learn from our misfortune.
