I regret working with AR Saunas. I paid for a "custom sauna" that is unusable: it leaks water when…read moreit rains, has visible holes in the back wall, and the included heater can't reach standard sauna temperatures. None of these issues were disclosed. Standard sauna walls are usually 1.5"-2" thick. Mine? Just 0.75". I provided photo evidence to AR Saunas showing the water damage and poor construction. When I raised my concerns, I was told it was my fault for not doing more "research"--and that "saunas aren't waterproof." Let that sink in: I was sold a structure meant to trap heat and humidity, yet it wasn't designed to keep water out. I tried to resolve this directly. The contractor offered a partial refund or a different heater--neither of which addresses the real problem. There was no accountability, just blame-shifting. I chose AR Saunas based on the glowing reviews. I now question how many of those reflect real, long-term customer satisfaction. My advice: * Ask the specs--especially the heater * Confirm the wall thickness * Ask if rain will get in * Don't send a large e-transfer without guarantees in writing

They seemed positive and committed to create designs and get back to me. I was then ghosted. Waited several weeks. I sent another message and they said they would get back to me and apologized for the delay. They ghosted me again. I sent another message message as a follow up and nothing. Customer attention and service means a lot. As a result, I've gone with their competitor.

Seriously do not use them you will deeply regrett it and end up having to spend more to fix the errors they made or tear it all down and start from scratch.

STAY AWAY!! This was…read morea $16,000 mistake. Took out permits and completed the work. Looked spectacular on the outside but a complete mess underneath. Found out recently that there was no inspection and the permit is still open. Company will not return phone calls or respond to emails. Feel totally taken advantage of. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Good Guys built us a sunroom in 2010 for approx $50K. Looked nice but many problems…read more First, Good Guys submitted but never completed the permit process unbeknownst to us. So a couple years later the City served us with a permit violation notice . Since the time limit had expired on the original application, they'd destroyed it (without informing us) and now we had to re-submit from scratch. We hounded Good Guys for over a year to re-do the permit process. Due to the time it took, the City assessed a $1,200 fine against us. Filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, got Good Guys' attention temporarily and they got part way through the permit application process. But Good Guys was so unresponsive it was impossible to finish. So we worked directly with an engineer to finish the permit process and got the permit this month (Oct 2018). The engineer gave us a report listing problems that would not pass City inspection. The worst was none of the teleposts under the middle of the deck were screwed down. So the middle was completely unsupported and also way off level. (Decking inside sunroom has to be torn out to fix it, then replaced with new decking) There was also insufficient structure where the sunroom roof meets the house roof and many other deviations from the engineer's design.. Plus, there's bad leaking and several other problems. As of now (end of Oct 2018) we have a contractor working to fix the problems ($8,000) and pass City inspection. Bottom line: Poor workmanship and support that's cost us a lot of time and money to fix.

This is a follow-up from our previous review of this company. If we could give zero Stars we would…read more first Matthew seemed very professional, knowledgeable, dependable, tidy, and accountable. We Stand corrected! He was none of these things and left us high and dry, to have to replace our brand new kitchen faucet and hire a plumber to fix all the damage he did in our house and we'll have to do a warranty through Home Depot to repair our leaky shower! We should have known after he had to cancel and reschedule on the very first day he was to start the work here! His excuse seemed legitimate. However, this was one of many times he had to cancel, reschedule or did not return our messages for days and even a week. He installed our brand new kitchen tap with the faucet upside down, and when he went to tighten it after the third time he dropped the set screw pins down the drain. Now we haven't heard for him for 3 weeks and have had to hire a plumber and had to go out and purchase a new faucet as this one could not be tightened without the specific set screw pins. Our shower which he installed in our upstairs bathroom is leaking water on the floor. Thank goodness we can go through Home Depot for warranty for this. The other items that he attempted to repair, were just that, attempts as he apparently did not know what he was doing, and every time he went to fix something there was a new problem that needed to be fixed! Our plumber that we hired also had to fix those problems! It was a comedy of errors, and Matthew just left us high and dry with all of these things that he broke and just abandoned the job, and did not return any of our messages or calls! (AFTER BEING PAID IN FULL)!! I don't normally like to post bad reviews like this but be forewarned if you hire this man expect him to be late, cancel, install things improperly, break things as he's trying to fix them and then leave you high and dry to fix them on your own! We couldn't have been more disappointed, and we tried our best to be accommodating and understanding after every mishap he had! After everything was said and done from paying for the shower install, to labor and parts and then having to replace the kitchen faucet as well as hiring a plumber it was in excess of $1,500.

I would highly recommend MJC . We needed to replace our crumbling concrete stairs with wood…read more Matthew gave us a fair quote and that's what we paid - no hidden or extra charges. His workmanship was excellent. He completed the job in a reasonable amount of time and kept us informed every step of the way. i will definitely call on MJC for any further projects.
