    I was talked down too and overcharged. I was asking questions why my ex-husband had to be in the…read moreroom but the buyers of our home could sign from Florida. It really was just a question. I was told how much work they do behind the scenes and they do this all the time. I said I understood but would still like an explanation. It was like pulling teeth, with the feeling I should just shut up and sign. The second issue I had with the transaction was the wire transfer. I was charged $30.00 for a wire transfer fee. I did everything they told me to do so the money from the sale of our home would go directly into an account since I had not found a house yet. First American Title forgot to include a paper my ex-husband and I had to sign so they could transfer the funds. Since they forgot the paper, a check was sent to my ex-husbands which made it longer before i got the money and the obvious discomfort of having to get it plus the time to go all the way up to his house. I asked for a refund of the fee multiple times, after speaking with someone a few times who said she would ask the manager, I never heard back and she also stopped returning my calls. For their mistake, my time, money in gas and inconvenience the least they could have done was refund the fee I paid them for a service I did not get. We have lots of choices in Grand Rapids, go some place else!

    I am extremely surprised by the amount of work Ellen and her associate Ashlee were willing to do on…read moreour account. I am experienced with mortgages loans to a degree that I know what I need to qualify, and that I did have what was needed in my profile to qualify. I have been trying for almost 3 years and extremely hard since February 2020. By March 2020 all factors were aligned to qualify for a loan but I could not find a loan officer that would take my file seriously. They refused to have an actual conversation and engage with me just stating I was wrong and I did not qualify. I had realtors and mortgage brokers completely ignoring my communications. When I met Ellen though a mutual relation, Ellen took the time to listen and look at my file, I explained to her I know my case would not be easy, but I know I met the qualifications to purchase a home. Ellen and her associate Ashlee asked for all the needed documents to look over and see if they could pre-qualify me and my wife. After a few days I received a call form Ellen where she explained she had great news, she said she was impressed with how much I seamed to know on this topic, and they yes I did and would qualify to purchase a home, she was saddened and upset to know that other mortgage brokers would not help my family simply because they wanted an easy case and did not want to work for their client. Ellen reinforced with me it would be a hard process, but if I would stick with her she would stick with me, and she guaranteed that we would get my family in a home. We went through 16 home offers or attempted offers from August until we finally closed and Ellen stuck with us through every hiccup, offer loss, hard spot, and confusion and helped secure my family a home we needed very much. For my family it was not just an investment, this is our new home, we have been in medical housing for over 3.5 years because my wife is terminal, this offers us a home again, a place to have our family dog back with us, a place to heal and see through treatments in a place that is ours again and that we can feel comfortable. This will help my family heal in many ways and help regenerate some energy lost over these last many years. I really appreciate Ellen and Ashlee taking on this process with us and fighting along side my family to get this home purchased so my family can have peace again. Ellen chose to work, and work very hard to get this deal finished, and she did not back down because it was not an easy open shut case like the majority of mortgage brokers we have talked to here in Denver. I am very thankful for her and Ashlee. Today February 19, 2021 I can say my family has a home again!

My wife and I chose to work with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services and they were outstanding. What a team: it felt like Steven Fase and Julie Rockwell adopted me. They listened so carefully to our housing objectives, our budget, and were very sensitive to the challenges of moving to a town we knew nothing about. In our first weekend of house hunting, Julie showed us over a dozen homes in our desired style and price range. She was very mindful of sharing her insights and wisdom regarding the strengths and weaknesses of each neighborhood. The next weekend we could tell how she was even more tuned in to our preferences and found at least a dozen more very nice homes. She found a real gem and it was priced right where we needed it to be. She helped us negotiate the deal (you can tell how well respected she is by her professional peers), and our offer was accepted. And that's where everything Berkshire Hathaway is capable of doing went up to the next level! Julie arranged for the most thorough home inspector and stayed with us through the entire inspection. Steven introduced us to the best mortgage financing team you could hope for - here's why. Within 14 days (I had to get started at my new job!) the folks at Prosperity Home Mortgage (thank you so much Jim Papatheodore and Shanna Cameron!!) negotiated a fantastic interest rate, locked it in, arranged a ton of official paperwork to flow so smoothly through the approval process (we were at the max limit of our pre-approval), and coordinated all this with the bank, the title company, the lawyers office, the bank transfer portal, the Home Owners Association, and probably a few more. Then I asked if they could move the closing date up from a Monday to the preceding Friday so I could use the weekend to move in. Somehow, they got all of these players to make that happen! It was truly, truly an unbelievably seamless process! I wanted to write all of this because everyone I mentioned earned it, they deserve it, and my highest recommendation is not enough to convey how impactful their commitment to our success was. I hope you choose to work with these folks. You will be in the care and integrity of experts, all of whom are such very, very nice people.     We recently had unpleasant dealings with a realtor from Berkshire Hathaway (Ami G.) We sold a home…read moreand she represented the buyers. Prior to the sale, she requested access to our home so a builder could do an estimate for some changes the buyers wanted. Simple enough. She specifically told us it would only be "for a few minutes" and we agreed. Being busy parents, we thought it best to schedule this prior to our kids getting home. The builder showed up at the scheduled time, but was actually there for closer to two hours and he noted that the realtor knew full well there was no way he could only take "a few minutes" to complete his task. If she had simply told us how much time was actually required, an unfortunate inconvenience could have been avoided with no problem. She also requested the closing date for the sale be moved up and was quite hostile when we were reluctant to do so. In other email communications, she seemed like a fairly angry and unreasonable individual in situations that really didn't require a hostile posture. It made the whole experience weird and uncomfortable and even our realtor commented on her unprofessional behavior. Due to these experiences, I would reconsider working with this individual should you choose Berkshire Hathaway.
