Safety has also been a concern, with vehicle break-ins, lack of cameras, and unmanaged pet issues around the property. The property itself has noticeably deteriorated over time, while communication from management often feels dismissive rather than solution-oriented. Residents should also be aware that monthly costs can increase significantly due to added fees beyond base rent. I also want to note that management may publicly dispute concerns raised in reviews. However, I have documented proof of the issues I experienced, including photos, maintenance requests, and written communication. I stand by my review and am simply sharing my honest experience for future tenants.

Pros: The maintenance is quick, the front office is courteous, and the gym is fantastic. We use the gym six days a week. It's huge! They have a beautiful pool. We haven't used it yet though but lots of people seem to. The ceilings are high and the layout is very spacious. Plenty of windows for natural lighting. The back porch has room for our greenhouse and gets plenty of sun without killing our plants. There are lots of wall plugs so don't worry about having an extensive amount of extension cords laying around. We have cats and there's plenty of room for them to play. They love it here. The entry way is really cool. Lots of closet space. Our bathroom has two sinks which is pretty convenient so I don't have to deal with my boyfriends beard trimmings. The tub is oval shaped so you get that extra room for baths. The kitchen is made for cooking. It's in a U shape so it's chef friendly. Cons: Parking. Between the hours of 8 and 3 parking is fine. 4 and 8, you may have to park a little further than you'd like. 8 and after you'll be parking way in the back. It gets pretty ridiculous but you can pay for covered parking if your more concerned about convenience. And the mail lady. She writes on your mail and marks packages as delivered when they haven't been delivered then she'll put them in your mail box the next day. We're going to the post master to report her so hopefully that problem won't last long. Getting out of the apartments is a pain early in the morning and between 3 and 6 in the evening. You're right off the highway so if you need to go south on 281 to get to 1604 you have to get over three lanes in less than a mile. Why I gave it five stars: this is a great place to live. It's in a great area, right down the street from multiple shopping centers. The apartment layout is perfect and spacious. The staff is nice and maintenance is quick. The only issues are basically out of their control.

The price…read morefor this place and the square footage you get is better than what other apartments are offering so I'm not discouraging people from moving in, but my experience has been a total mess. I'll start by saying the people who live here are so kind and helpful, and while some just mind their business, I have made some friends here. Some residents here don't pick up after their animals and the mosquitos and wasps nest are insane here too. I personally have no incidents to report of any car break-ins but they had to close the mailbox room after 8pm due to people breaking into the mailboxes, and for a while the gate would be broken majority of the time but the past few months it hasn't, consequently if it being broken the gate opens super slowly and you have to be basically almost touching the gate for the sensor to work. I can't say the same for all apartments here, but I had a mold problem on vents and some of my window's glasses weren't fully sealed, so mold grew there too. The carpet was obviously old and I don't think they replace the apartments carpets as frequently as required. The building could be made of glass, everything breaks or bends when you mess with them slightly, but i'm assuming it's this way so they can strip you of your deposit. Inspections this year were crazy and there was no communication between maintenance, the office, and what was said to their residents. They inspected our building over 6 times for various reasons and one time our apartment specifically due to "lack of cleanliness". They don't tell you this when you move in, but mentioned in the lease it does have it and written that it needs to be clean and don't really specify what is actually required. They mean that in it needs to be SPOTLESS and deep cleaned anytime there is an inspection or if maintenance comes to fix something in your apartment. Specifically, Yassy, the assistant manager, has come into my apartment and berated at me about how dirty my place was and has pressured maintenance in front of me to explain what was seen as "awful" in my apartment, but they couldn't give an answer. I have a cat, and she states she's allergic to cats, so when she went on a rant about how hard it was to breathe in my apartment I'm going to assume maybe it's because you're allergic and not that my place stinks. Yassy has reportedly done this to multiple people living in this complex and is known for having an uncaring and unkind attitude. They hired someone to take over for the lease agent position during my time here and I'm not sure how he treats people touring, but every time i've talked with him his immediate response is to talk to a manager. I can't tell if he's lazy or wasn't trained well, but he is making management's jobs a whole lot harder and wasting my time, considering it's rare you see them in the office and getting ahold of them on the phone is also a rare occurrence. Keep this all in mind when looking at this place because it may not be for you, especially if you have any kids or animals.

I usually don't review anything unless it stands out, and during the San Antonio "Snowpocalypse" (feb 2021) Agora has stood out as a fantastic community. Like MANY places in San Antonio during this unexpected cold snap (lows in the single-digits) the water pipes froze and the main supply line to the property failed, as this is a once in 30 year event. The staff were extremely communicative about what happened and gave daily updates on repairs. They were clearly handling the situation in an excellent manner. It's during crises when you see what people/businesses are really made of. And Agora proved to be great. There are a number of other examples to show that they care and take pride in what they do. It's a great property, with great amenities and great people. I'm very lucky to call myself a resident at Agora Stone Oak.

When she asked for evidence or documentation of the alleged incident, none was provided. The dog sitter and her husband, who were caring for the dog at the time, said they did not witness the dog bite anyone. The lack of transparency made the situation feel very unfair. In addition, my sister experienced multiple occasions where management entered her apartment without giving her prior notice, which left her feeling that her privacy was not respected. Based on her experience, I would not recommend this apartment complex. I hope management improves its communication, documentation, and respect for residents' privacy.
